What intrigues me the most, and I guess is a reflection of this website, is the totally different direction this thread would have taken if the OP was a man posting about a woman. :wall:{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

I think you're right.
I'm a keen SW fan. It's the only 'diet' I've ever tried. It suited me to lose some weight I'd gained after a lifestyle change and 7 years on it's still suiting me. It gives a structure to healthy eating.
BUT...I think anonymoose has a problem that goes far beyond food so I've been reluctant to engage as it seems impossible to have a rational conversation.
How have I been irrational? Because I have a different point of view? Um, ok. Sort of proves my point about SW members being defensive and only seeing things with SW blinkers on.
And as I keep pointing out, my problems only began after dieting. And are now very much resolved.0 -
I think the person being most defensive.........is you.
You've shouted down (or at least tried to) everyone who has said they've had success with SW.
No, I haven't. I have acknowledged they are 'successful' and in the minority. This whole thing started because I gave a different point of view about SW and diets in general and then you jumped on that. A debate ensued as is natural.0 -

You should be mindful of the foods that make you want to eat less overall.
No, it shouldn't.
And if you need examples of other people who have the same opinion of diets and SW and diets as me (seeing as I seem to be in the minority here), you should check out the comments on the posts onthe Rebelfit page on FB. Even if you don't agree with him, it should open your eyes to see that my situation is quite normal.0 -

I think you'll find (or probably not) that 'this whole thing started' because you have a damning point of view about SW - because it didn't (unfortunately) work for you.
I didn't 'jump' on anything.0 -

Anoneemoose, we get that you don't like SW, i don't see the need to keep banging on about how bad it is. It works for millions of people. You don't seem to understand how it works, it's not restricting calories, it doesn't ban whole food groups, it encourages a healthy diet and exercise, it's never referred to as a diet. There will be people who can't follow it and may even gain weight but that doesn't make it a bad thing. The people who follow SW will probably be the people who would never be able to use mindful eating to manage their weight, you seem to think that everyone can do it, you have to accept that they can't, people choose what works for them. For me, SW is mindful eating.0

Have you read my posts? It is calorie controlled. It is restriction. I DO understand how it works, I trained as a consultant for them. If that doesn't give me an understanding, then I don't know what will.
And why is it ok for you to 'keep banging on about how good it is', but me not able to 'bang on about how it isn't?'0 -
