Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help.
I went through a company to claim back my mis-sold PPI (big mistake I know), and have received a letter from them stating that my claim against Lloyds for the credit card I had has been successful.
My mention credit card is in debt management, and I have been informed by the company handling our claim that Lloyds plan to use my compensation to pay off some of the debt owed.
Can Lloyds actually do this, as it is compensation due to mis-sold payment protection?
Many thanks in advance.0 -
Hi - Apologies if I'm doing this the wrong way, but I've spent ages and ages trawling through pages on here and can't see where to start!!
Pre 1999 I had a credit card plus a couple of store cards. I have found some paperwork for them that shows Payment Protection Premium or Account Cover premium. The amounts show up on the statements but I also have several printouts from a company called Credit Card Protection Plan Limited in London who detail all the cards they covered.
Who do I apply to to try and reclaim the money? The Abbey National who I had the credit card with and each individual store (Argos Additions, Mothercare), or the company Credit Card Protection Limited (I think I used to pay a yearly premium to them - can't really remember).
If you know the answer to that could you also tell me where to find the letter I need and which letter I need to use as I don't know if I am claiming for late fees or the payment protection preimiums.
Sorry to be so thick but I've put off sorting this out for over 12 months and now finances dictate I need to pull my head out of the sand!
Any help would be REALLY appreciated - thank you folks x0 -
Me again! reading more posts, do I need to provide copies or evidence of the charges etc as they go back to 1999?! (I feel a day trip to the loft coming on!!)0

I think I can see your issue.
You do not appear to be even on the right board, let alone the right thread.
Have a read of the posts on the Reclaim PPI & Other Insurance board0 -
Hi all.
Looking into the first steps of this process, and I seem to have hit a hurdle already.
Step 1. Find out all of your charges.
"Unfortunately card companies are legally allowed to charge for this info - the maximum amount is £10 - and card companies being card companies, they tend to charge the full amount. So to save time, enclose a cheque for a tenner in your letter."
I do not have a cheque account, and as such, am unable to provide a cheque. I only have a basic account due to previous financial problems.
So. How does one go about starting a claim, if you are in my position?0 -

Postal order?
Do you know anyone with a chequebook? If so, could you give them a tenner and ask for a cheque?
Have you asked your bank? Maybe they could provide you with a counter cheque?0 -
thank you Wywth but am still at a loss as to where to find the info I need - my apologies for posting in the wrong place.0

please can someone help me. Where do I go next after sending off a letter to LloydsTSB asking for my copy of my credit agreement (I closed my visa card account in app 2004) and T and C,s .I sent a £1.00 cheque and I,ve heard back from them saying that section 78 only applies during the lifetime of my agreement and that the account is now closed that there is no longer a regulated agreement between us and will not send what I asked for. What can I do next please? Thank you0
