aprilshower wrote: »Hi everybody,
After reading this thread I successfully claimed back some charges from MBNA. So thank you all so much for the information.
I then requested information from Capital One back in April / May. I still have not heard anything from them or the FOS so have sent them an email this morning.
Has anybody else claimed credit card charges back from capital one and did it take this long?
Thanks in advance

Just about to submit a claim to Barclaycard.
Should i charge compound interest(which they charged me) because this makes a huge difference to the claim as it goes back to 2002.?0 -

1) Over 6 years 99.9% no chance & within 6 years you would need pretty good reason to claim.
2) Ask for your cheques back
3) Let it go

It is good to know it is not only me. When did you first contact the FOS?

Thanks for reply.
I have all the statements going back to 2002 so ill definetely try.
As for the interest rate i think ill stick to 8%0 -

Dear All,
I put in a claim for compensation for Miss-sold PPI, but I didn't tell the Credit Card company I had my original agreement stating categorically that I was being charged PPI. I simply didn't think it neccesary.
They have written back to me in a Final Response Letter and have said and I quote' you never had PPI on your account and therefore there are no funds to be refunded'.
I am just wondering what to do next as this is blatant dishonesty. I thought credit card companys were supposed to come clean if a complaint was lodged.
Should I report them to the authorities (FSO) or take them to court?0 -
Hi guys,
This is my first post but I have been reading and following the excellent advised posted on here for a number of months now.
I used Martin's template to ask MBNA for copies of my statements under the data protection act.
They have replied with a single sheet listing several late payment fees of £12.00. Obviously I was expecting full copies of my statements as that is what I requested and paid my £10 for. I am also convinced the fees quoted only cover a 12month period and not everything within in the last 5 years.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Many thanks in advance.0 -
I was persuaded by MBNA to take out insurance, persuaded strongly I might add. Having read all about it I decided to reclaim it. I was successful, however an amount was paid when I was off work sick for a month, it did not come to me however it went straight to the credit card, and because it was late being paid, one month was not paid and the month it was paid the credit card received 2 payments, so missed payment and late charges on the month it was not paid.
My question, I have received a cheque for an amount less the payment made. A colleague says I should also receive the payment they have taken off (270.68), is this correct? I have searched this forum for anything similar but can't find it. Unless I'm not in the right forum??
Any help appreciated, as I will not present the cheque until I know.
