Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but have literally just joined. Hope someone can answer this query for me.
We have just booked a holiday via the internet and used a credit card to pay. The company have charged us 3% which amounted to £50.37. When I queried this I was told that it's the airline company that make the charge and not the holiday company. This seems to me to be very high as, if we had used a debit card, we would have been charged £2.50, but unfortunately had not enough money in that account to do so. Is this normal?0 -
What charges can you claim for on credit cards?0

There seems to be so many addresses for them.0 -

Hi, hope this is the right forum and that someone can help. My son at the time was 18 just, didnt have a job did some freelance website designing, got paid via paypal. One day he clicked the paypal cc link and was sent a card. He left home and couple of years later the cc company are phoning for the money every other day. Last year i paid off about 4k to clear it off, because i couldnt cope with the calls letters etc. My question is should they have given him a card without any paperwork, can i claim anything back, we dont have statements, it was online and cant access them because the account is closed. Sorry its so long Diana0

I used the first template to get in touch with capital one and the response I got was that they were not obliged to give me my original ppi agreement, where do I go from here?0

It is worth trying to reclaim all your credit card charges:
- Natwest paid me out within a fortnight of asking - all charges inc. £12 one's.
- Barclaycard took as a bit longer, but didn't challenge and paid out after about two months. Again all charges.
- MBNA told me to go to the Ombudsman after a few letters - did so and they told the Ombudsman that they didn't agree that their charges were excessive, but would pay all charges back anyway!
- Sainsbury's told me to go to the Ombudsman and then it seems proved to him that their charges were fair, so all I got was those above £12 (still better than nothing).
Good luck.0 -
Hi all,
For weeks now I have been reading up about claiming as I have had many expensive cards over the years and I know for a fact I never agreed to any PPI on credit cards (I have on some loans) My question is can i just write a letter thats straight to the point asking if Ive paid it and if so can i be refunded due to the fact I never agreed to this extra fee? or do I have to ask for T&Cs like the template letters on here? and then fill out the questionaire? will a letter written by me still have the same effect? - what did you guys who have been successful do...
My cards were MBNA, Barclays, GE Capital and HSBC
Thanks :T0 -
