    Claim £466.56

    Payment Due: £466.56

    Hi all

Got the letter in the post this morning, full payment back of £466.56!!!!

This is all for £12 charges dating back no further than 2008!

Its only taken 2 letters to them. The 1st letter from them was the basic sod off - our charges are fair letter, so i sent them the 2nd letter and told them i would take court action, and they pay up!

Thanks you all so much!, i will now go full throttle and claim the rest back from the others (Egg watch out!)

I would just like to re-point out that this was a claim for just £12 charges, so just goes to show that they will still pay out!

They try to puch you in to the FOS system, knowing full well the the FOS will not investigate the £12 charges. If you are just claiming these, tell them you will goto court and take them if the still say no!
  • I've had a Master Card with the Clydesdale bank for many years now and I used to pay for a service called Sentinel Protection( I think thats what its called) they no longer charge for it.I was wondering if I can claim these charges back,I'm sure I've been paying some sort of PPI but just assumed it was the norm, any help/advice appreciated.

There's a whole separate MSE board devoted to reclaiming PPI and other insurance. Have a look over there :)

hey guys, have just started reading this thread, i'm a few pages in, was just after some advice.

    Heres my story

back in 2005 being young and dumb, i applied for a capital one card and was approved, i was not working at the time and because of this, i was using the card to b asically buy food etc, alongside my jsa, at the time it was 45 pounds a week, i managed to pay the first bill and they increased my limit, which i foolishly used, so my limit was 500 pounds, after that i managed to make no payments for a while and kept being charged for this every month, eventually i got a job, but was playing catch up with your debts.

Eventually capital one put this to the baliffs, who i did eventually manage to pay off, the sum being about 700+ at that point.

This is slightly optimistic, but i was wondering if i could make a claim against the charges?

Any advice appreciated and yes i do want to hang my head in shame at not paying my bills, but i was 22 at the time and living alone, stupidly i did not pay them.

    Thanks

hi, i am a newbie to this and need some advice. i have a company calling me offering to take my credit card debts and fight to see whether they are enforcable debts. obviously they do have a charge for this if they manage to save me money. i know for a fact one of my cards has changed hands three times and in that time a huge amount of interest was added ! has anyone ever used any of these companies ?
    thanks in advance

Why would any MSE'er use one of these companies for a fee when Martin & his team have put together an easy step by step document that shows you how to do it yourself for free?

In fact, I'm led to believe, it's such a good and easy to follow article that many of those that charge you use the same guide.

No reason why you cant reclaim. If it was 2005 then you are close to the 6 year limit. On the bright side, if it was pre 2006 then I assume we are talking more than £12 per charge so your chance of reclaiming something would be improved.
I say go but dont hang around. Start now!!:)
  • I know it sounds silly asking if it's worth trying to claim back money I may have been falsely charged for but I want to know what the likelihood is that I will come out with something before going down this route

I would like to know if anyone else has tried this method for reclaiming by requesting that any owed charges be simply removed from the outstanding balance of their credit cards and if the banks are more likely to agree to this proposal rather than refund me any owed charges

Any thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated

Apologies if I have posted in the wrong thread or if someone has already asked this question as this is my first post on any forum... Ever!

    Thanking you all
