Do you know which pricing model Which uses. There used to be an official one that would assume say 1 month of fixed then 11 months of variable with the premise that you would not have switched. Then show the savings against that.
The "pricing model" of which you speak is just used to estimate the savings that you will make not how much it will cost.
Just ignore the savings and look at how much you will pay - then do your own sums to confirm it. It will only cost you less if the the price per kwh and/or the standing charge is lower than the price you are presently paying.
I'm on the Welcome Home tariff and not found any tariffs out there that would cost me less. I'm hanging on until I get my tariff increase notice.
The very cheapest fix I can find is with Symbio which has a slightly higher tariff rate but a slightly lower SC which equates to an extra £8 per annum for my 7000+kwh of leccyNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Sorry everyone - I went a bit bonkers in my earlier post.
While I was correct that the Which? site quoted savings on my current Eversmart deal from four companies, the quote from Avro was actually £17 more per year, for a fixed deal. (I've confirmed this using my comparison spreadsheet - although I still need to go to the Avro site and confirm things).
Still, £17 more for a year is still way better than I expected. I thought the best I could get would be hundreds of pounds more than currently.
On the point about Eversmart not moving me from my Welcome Home tariff when it ends on 20th, I would be worried that, when they do eventually catch up, they will simply backdate the increase and I would end up paying for some weeks/months on their variable tariff anyway.
Isn't that likely (and legal)?
I'm tempted to jump ship now, partly because I think that Eversmart are so useless that the switch is likely to go all wrong and take ages.0 -
Eversmart have now paid their outstanding debt. The refund was paid within 24 hours of my taking legal action against the company. Why did I switch away from Eversmart? The fixed one year tariff had come to an end, but Eversmart conveniently neglected to tell me the tariff was coming to an end. As a consequence, they changed my tariff to a far more expensive one, without notifying me. Eversmart objected to my switch and thus delayed it by over a month. They claimed that I owed them money at the time of the proposed switch. Since their website did not allow me to log in, it was extremely difficult to keep track of my payments and charges and so I asked eversmart how much was owing. They replied, £238, so I paid this immediately. However Eversmart continued to DD my bank account after the much delayed switch had occurred. They agreed to refund me telling me that it would take 3 to 5 working days. When the refund was not forthcoming, I phoned Eversmart and again was promised the refund and again I was told 3 to 5 working days. After three weeks of waiting for the refund, I was obliged to take legal action. Eversmart are without doubt the worst utility company I have had to deal with. You have been warned!!0

Well, after live chat failed to fix it I did a complaint email and they have fixed it and given me a £20 credit.
Happy enough with that, to be honest I'd have been happy with them just sorting it, not sure how they can afford to thow money at people when they are as cheap as they are in the first place.
Spoke to soon, noticed all bills since then were estimates again so complained again and they have fixed them and assured me that they will be correct going forward.
They also slipped in that my fix is going to end on 16/09 and I will revert to their variable rate at that point. I pointed out that they have failed to give me the required notice (between 42 & 49 days) to which they replied that the Ofgem guidlines say they have to give 30 days so I have had enough notice.
My following reply wasn't as polite when I pointed out that it was worrying that the complaints department of an Ofgem licenced supplier appears to have no knowledge of the SLC. I further pointed out that the Ofgem notice period is also reflected in their own terms and that I'll look forward to receiving the notice as per their T&C.
Looks like there are other suppliers that will only work out as ~ £20 / year more than I'm currently paying so I'll start the switch anyway.0 -
Hello,
am G&E customer of Eversmart, I have switched last year in Aug and had to wait til Nov for them to resolve the "missed" gas account switch. During my contract had a lovely team calling me up asking me if they can install their smart meter - great experience. Never heard from the company since then until I got a call trying to discuss tariff change for the new contract which piqued my curiosity. Agreed to discuss the same day, the guy called back being very confused during the call, saying he can't quote me becos my numbers don't look right - promised to call back - I have never heard from that team again. So in order to find out what my spend is I have been trying to log into my account ever since to understand my account balance, over/underspend and the general info. At no point have I been contacted to adjust my monthly DD or notified of any larger than average account balance. I have spent 8 working days - yes you hear well ! - 8 working days communicating with the online CS team (Alisha) on 2 different chats - she has asked me twice what are my details (provided in the first message) and then as kick to gut she asks if my query has already been resolved! Now am chatting with Mia who seems to be getting my problem but struggling to define what does 'I will reset your access' mean in terms of hours/days/weeks of wait. I also spend 34 minutes on the phone with Eversmart last week only to have my call hung up to. :wall::wall::wall: Now my switch request away from Eversmart (just to be on safe side of the cheapest tariff plus they really insulted me with that customer approach) has been rejected and this company does not make any communication easy for you. I do love that they have chatbot responding to your query but it does precisely zilch for you in terms of resolving your issue, just clogs your inbox..
In summary - they are clearly short staffed to deal with customers, they do not communicate or advise you of any issues on your account, they try to upsell you without even bothering to tell you first that your contract is due to end formally (a legal obligation) - I love to leave good or reasonable but always fair feedback for any company but even mentioning the name Eversmart makes me see red so the feedback is ZERO STARS - AVOID!0 -
I changed to eversmart after a competive quote however after 12 months they doubled my payments . They then said it was their mistake and said they would reverse it , however they started to take 2 separate DD from my account .
They eventually refunded the over payments in march but I have recently been contacted by them to say I have under paid by over £600 !!
absolute shambles and I am still trying to get it resolved .0 -

..... the Ofgem guidlines say they have to give 30 days notice .......
My fixed deal ends on 20th of this month and I haven't heard from Eversmart.
Does this mean that, even if their system automatically moves me onto a variable deal, I am not liable to pay more than my current tariff costs until 30 days after they get around to sending me an email to advise me of the price change?0 -
They actually have to give you between 42 & 49 days notice when your fixed rate is coming to an end, and that is reflected in their own terms.
Legally they would be on shakey ground if they charge you more, but they are a shambles of a company so who knows what they will try.
I've not heard back from them pointing out that they have failed to give me the correct notice and I look forward to receiving it, however I'll probably switch before then as I can only see prices going up and my current quotes aren't much higher than my Eversmart fix.0 -
I've bitten the bullet and gone with Symbio. An extra £36p.a. on the unit cost but £25.55 less on the standing charge so costing me an extra £10.45 a year for a fix to next August 31st which I reckon isn't too bad.
Just got to see how Eversmart handle the swap over and refund (we've used quite a bit less leccy this year than average, so they owe me some money)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
