In terms of your meter readings and direct debit it would be best to physically call them on the phone to sort this out. Doesn't sound like you had much luck via email. Whenever I have called them there is sometimes a 10-15min wait but someone always picks up and helps.

re your fixed deal ending. I am in the same point and was told by them they can't increase your priced without sending in writing that they are going to do so allegedly. I'm waiting to see if the rates have lineup in my next bill later this month.

Most likely that you were still tagged as in the process of switching on the industry database which is possibly down to Octopus not confirming the switch to them was complete so the switch was auto rejected. I am in a similar situation and my switch is now due to go ahead on 16th after a foul up by them not re-applying for which they have stated I will get £25 credit.
  • Out of curiosity, has anyone who has stuck with them 12 months been honoured with the £20 loyalty bonus they mention in their Ts&Cs?

Taken from Moneysavingsite article dated 24.4.18.

Finally, Eversmart offers what it calls a loyalty payment – so stay with it for 12 months and you get £20, whether you stick with it or not. It’ll add this to your account, so if comes off your gas and electricity bill if you stick with them, or it will put it on your final bill if you switch.

This £20 offer isn’t on all tariffs, but Eversmart told us you can get it with the very cheap Fixed Smart Special deal.
    unquote.

That's good news for me as I am on the Special deal.

I've now got my first invoice from Eversmart since joining them on 7th September, and although they had a opening reading from me (which they acknowledged when I phoned them) given both by phone and E-mail they still decided to estimate (or deem it)to be some 250kwh more than the actual meter reading.

I've had a good go at them telling them that I don't want guessed bills and they can have a reading whenever they want one.

I'm now waiting for a corrected bill and am wondering what sort of guess that Octopus has made for their final reading. If it's 250kwh out then it'll cost me nearly £8 extra which I'm not prepared to pay.

Yes I have received the 20 pound bonus but their systems aren't the best so they've been missing people out. I called them about it and they just added it onto the next bill.

I've got my first bill from Eversmart (I switched on 12th September) and it is correct. They have used the correct opening reading, which was the same as the closing reading agreed with Octopus.

I have also received my £5 refund from Octopus, so all good.

I wish the rest of you good luck.

My switch has been pretty painless compared with some of the others on here.
  • I'm on that tariff as well! Applies to all fixed 12 month contracts (follow the link at the bottom of their main page, section 5 for reference)

"At the end of your contract you will receive £20 as a thank you for your loyalty and you can choose to enter another fixed term contract or be put on our cheapest variable tariff and given written notice of this."

Will be nice getting some written notice from Eversmart since I'm 6 months in and haven't had a single letter/email/invoice from them despite regular readings! No horror stories to speak of so far though.
