Good morning all. It's the start of week 7 of my life in a building site!

Skint nice to see you posting again. Sometimes it's enough just to 'be' without having too many expectations of yourself.

Pirate Pete looks like you and Bopsie had a great trip. Me next!

A weekend of tidying, putting things away, forgetting where I'd put them (dog biscuits in new laundry room...which is where they will go when it's completed)

Saturday and Sunday afternoons spent with feet up on sofa in living room. Back to looking more like a living room rather than a depository for all thing extra.

Set off at 7am and walked 10km. Doing a sponsored event for the hospital my husband had his final care in. Very emotional doing it. I normally walk 10km in a day most days but just not at one time! Hats off to folk who regularly run this! Waaaah! But it was a beautiful if blustery wander through our local country park and past castle, river in full spate. Lots of squirrels, ducks, robins, not many people at that time. $540 raised by us.

The best friend of OH popped in last night to see the progress of house.

Takeaway for tea. I have no plumbed in stove ! Will be something microwaveable tonight.

'Have you put your heating on?' I was asked...er, no...I have no radiators! So big jumpers and thick socks and blankets for us!

    Have a great day :)
  • Saturday pleasures:
    1) Boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast.
    2) Finding the book I wanted at the library.
    3) A free mocha from the Hotel Chocolat cafe - thick, rich and creamy. Yum.
    4) It's almost "Strictly" time!
    5) Sofa cuddles.

    And for Sunday:
    1) A slow, lazy start to the day.
    2) Soaking in the bath with my fantastic library book.
    3) Lovely visit from my Mum and nephew.
    4) The first proper Sunday lunch of the autumn - several hours in the kitchen to produce roast beef and all the trimmings but it was delicious and everyone was very appreciative.
    5) "Cargo" on Netflix.

    Sunday pleasures,

Early walk with little dog, very mild and no need for coat.

Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.

One of those lovely, quiet days at home when the back door is permanently open to the warm, sunshine and the hours slide by.

Roast dinner followed by a big bowl of chocolate ice-cream topped with mini raspberry meringues.

Enjoyed Dragons Den followed by Vanity Fair.
  • Skint: Good to see / read you again, we are having similar here working our way through DF’s food bits, it annoyed me so much as I tried to give various things away but was told by the hospice no to the wilts farm foods, and then by the food bank that they didn’t want soups So we have a lot we are gradually getting through though it’s made me realise these organisations are not what they are supposed to be.

    For the last few days
1 A lovely weekend away, including a day with my nephew, we walked all the animals, and I came back with numerous garden bulbs, I’ve planted the ones for the front garden already, literally as we unpacked as the animals were all away I mowed and dug the garden.:)
2 Nice to feel a bit energy back, I'd had a very bad flare before the weekend.

3 Batch cooked up some turkey chilli from scratch.
4 About to have a cherry scone with hm jam and clotted cream
5 Washing is hanging on the line, 3 loads and it’s full I’m hoping it stays dry tomorrow.
  • Monday pleasures

Gloriously warm & sunny day, if a bit breezy:rotfl: What is that I hear you cry... perfect day to do the washing :rotfl: Well now you mention it :rotfl: three loads washed, dried, folded & put away :T

A pleasure of sorts - quite a few clothes that need minor repairs :o:)

DH & DSis went out to get more compost, bark & slabs & have treated me to 2 trays of heather of varying colours :T Now I just have to decide where to plant them. Plus a new watering can:T

DH has ferreted some more wood out of the neighbours skip :rotfl: as I have requested a 2nd table top garden bed :rotfl: The cheek of me

Seeing a blue tit on the feeders - a rare visitor to our garden :D although we do get quite a few great tits.

The fox is now a nightly visitor :) waits around for DSis to put out a little tidbit

    Off to make dinner

    See you all tomorrow

    1) Had a stinking cold and was bedridden yesterday, but woke with enough energy to go to work and contribute meaningfully. Ended up leaving at 3pm but did a couple more hours from my bed and chuffed I got a full days work in.
    2) Food. Had 4 satsumas (greedy!), a banana and an apple free from work. Lunch was half a baked sweet potato, roasted veggies and houmous. Dinner was veggie sausage, mash, broccoli and beans. Comfort food! Now downing plenty of squash.
    3) DD trying her hardest to look after me :)
    4) House is in OK shape so can justify snuggling down with a book or a film
    5) DD is at her Grannys tomorrow night so have booked CrossFit (fingers crossed I can muster the energy!) and food is already prepped for the week. Here's to a healthy week :)

Hi all, been AWOL LONG TIME no idea how long and if i read back I'll never post. So hope any poorlies are on the mend, welcome any newbies and well done on the walk, Mhags

Pleasures since when? lets just do the weekend and today

    1. Got some work done, made some good PhD progress. Deadline is looming
    2. Made a cauliflower 'rice' paella on Saturday. Worked really well and we had leftovers for tea today
    3. Went to the flicks on saturday. King of THieves about the hatton garden burglary - it was very good.
    4. Up early yesterday for a trip to North Wales for more coast path. 14 miles, all on the flat but the asphalt pavement made it hard on the legs
    5. Nice meal at friends after and i took low carb crumble for pud
    6. yoga today for my poor aching muscles
7 filled up the fridge - DS has gone back to uni, so not sure why it's empty ;)
    8. lovely warm sunny day

That'll do for today - have a good evening all. hope to keep up..
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Thanks for all your lovely comments it does help :heartpuls

PK my DF has been emptying the large chest freezer which he and DM filled with all the produce from the allotment. He gave me about 10 bags of "apple sauce" to bring home after my last visit as DM used to make apple pies for my DS. When I defrosted one bag it was green and watery and it was a surprise to find asparagus spear heads floating in it :rotfl: turns out its asparagus soup DF forgot DM made loads and bagged it up for freezing. So I have lots of asparagus soup to work my way through.

Cant believe the charities / food bank wouldn't take food, someone would be grateful for it !

    Today's pleasures

    1. Lovely sunny day and a couple of nice dog walks.
Not walking far at the moment until we get advice from the orthopaedic specialist re puppys hip dysplasia

    2. load of towels line dried. It looks like we will miss the horrible windy wet weather forecast for the north over the next few days. Hoping its not too bad for all of you up there.

    3. DS has got his dream job after much disappointment and hard work :j It does mean a 4K paycut  but he says it will be worth it to do the job he loves which he does voluntary at the moment

    4. nice chat with DF on phone. We speak every night, he is going to the cinema tomorrow with my niece, am so glad she lives near him

    5. Its not as cold tonight, I am still sat in a tshirt instead of fleece and throw over me !

EDIT- VJsmum that's the film DF is going to see tomorrow hope he enjoys it sounds good

Bedtime. Was almost snoozing on the sofa but the phone rang & woke me up. Could hear DD2 saying to her friend 'she'll be sleeping!'

An odd day as I had to stay in . Don't really know the chaps that were here today and didn't want to leave house unlocked plus it was very noisy so wanted to be with doggy.

All laundry washed , ironed and in various states of damp- dryness!

Main builder didn't come till late afternoon. He's on to his next job and I'm the one that gets whatever time is leftover ....hmmm! Plasterer not coming till end of week. Bricklaying /roofing very dependent on weather, which is rather foul.

Read and read with a dog snuggled next to me.

Soup for tea with a roll and butter!

    Candles on, blankets on, cosy.

    Very wild and windy outside.
