    OS Pleasures recently
"It's difficult to write in wasps - you need so meant bodies to make a single letter." An unexpected lament but...

Aldi have new bags - same idea as the originals but new configuration, all lovely bright clean affordable fun.

Lads & I bonding over the Indiana film. "He chose .. poorly" has them snickering happily...

Found not one but two traditional leather writing sets in a charity shop & will fettle one as a gift for my goddaughter with whom I have been in shameful lack of touch. I may have to relearn how to write with a fountain pen!

Change of floor at work. It's like moving to another village - same supermarket so familiar faces but local boundaries all uncertain! Still, splendid pretext to get rid of all sorts of incriminating documents.

Cook's last century - amazing to hear & the ovation rightly fitting. Now to see if he's allowed to retire!

Found a top up code family had declared lost. Yippee, there's a tenner I won't have to spend again!

Eldest has declared intention of leaving home. Proud of him, intrigued by the logistics & plain anxious about the epilepsy but, parenting is about roots and wings. And lifts & loans & laundry and so on.

"Dada was there before there was" - nicely sketched.

Youngest has nudged a few scruffy web images into glossy stickers, and then smudged one corner with a thumb, hence his generosity to his father... We're all Firefly/Serenity fans, so Himself will shortly become the proud owner of crates of a dubious provenance tagged in futuristic oriental script.

Whereas youngest's A3 Art case would get pulled by the Alliance for extra searching at once having at least 2 decals indicating explosions. Me, I want one for the laundry basket...

Having been relocated in the building at work, I have developed a protocol for chivvying the technology into cooperation. Largely by unplugging things & only plugging them back in in sequence. There will be an anxious black cockerel handy tomorrow...

Waitrose have a new juco shopping bag with a squirrel attired for golf - called Preston, seemingly! Delightful drawing, witty & yet competent bag also. (The new bags for life will be Waitrose and partners branded & I'll have to source them through family as my local is closing <sniff> )

My nasturtiums have decided to startle me with another splash of colour! A most unexpected & welcome pleasure.

Sorted boychick a photo of his grandad - in exchange sort of for him brushing up dead wasps. Which give me hebbie-jeebies.

I am being summoned as there is a steam engine.
So, health strength hwbs love courage & additional fleeces to all as have need
  • 5 Blessings for today:

    1. Up early this morning - needed to get my hair washed and sorted .................. looked  when I got up!

    2. As all yesterday's laundry was dried and put away, I decided to do a quick wash of fleece dressing gown and nightie - both on the airer before going out :j.

    3. Church this morning - lovely to see some of the 'regulars' back from their holidays, so a good turnout :T.

    4. Called round to see old friend on the way home - unfortunately, there was a note pinned to her door (for next-door neighbour) saying that she'd had a bad night and had gone back to bed . Called at neighbour's bungalow and asked him to tell her that I'd called round and would call back. At least I know exactly where she lives now, so won't take as long to find next visit. I'll try again tomorrow, if I'm out of the hospital quickly.

    5. We've just finished our evening meal of 'Pig-Sty Pie' - OH declared it a 'Winner' and he's finished doing the dishes :j!

About to get myself comfy on the sofa for a couple of hours, but will need an early night - tomorrow's Hosp Apt is for 8.00am

Well all i can say is that weekend went far too quickly! for yesterday
    1) gym cancelled so got a lie-in. Was not sorry :-)
    2) took boys for a walk to a different park via the library for poo bags
    3) nice lunch from left-overs

    5) round to friends for dinner. omg. black pudding with a smear of apple sauce and scallops followed by venison with a game and chocolate sauce then souffle with a brandy-soaked gingernut biscuit in the centre. Stuffed! mrpiano fell asleep, we carried on chatting till we noticed the big hand nearing the 12 and the little hand nearing the 3! taxi home
    and for today
    1) had been very sensible with drinking 2 glasses water in between each alcoholic drink so no hangover when i woke at 9
    2) lovely walk into town for church. no sign of mrpiano!
    3) then lunch with friend i haven't had a good blether with for far too long
    4) then serendipitously met another friend who told me about the masters art students' show so went to that
    5) mrpiano emerged 5ish so we walked the dogs. now signed up for bootcamp, packed and in bed. night.

  • For Sunday:

-decluttered twelve handbags for the cs.

-went to visit a friend in the country

    -we made scones

    -nice chat with my folks

-had a glass of wine when I got home.
  • An enjoyable day.

    1. Saw some of DS2 friends who had stayed the night. We were close to a party they went to. One of them I hadn't seen in about 6 years since they all left school.

    2. DS2 girlfriend was here and had long chat with her.

    3. DS1 phoned and he was looking at going swimming and deciding whether to join somewhere either near to home or near to work. It's another positive step for him and his confidence.

    4. Spent most of the day in the garden pottering about.

    5. Enjoying the sunny weather.
