  • On 8th Av. Market. Packed. Better than some other markets I don’t frequent!

    PM2DD Shut it. I know!
  • Safe flight for tonight and Happy Landings, BoP - going to miss your 'Postcards from a Large City' ;) !

    My 5 Blessings for today:

    1. Decent weather and able to get 2 lots of laundry washed and dried - mostly on the line :j!

    2. Cake baked this morning and cooled down in time to wrap up for DGD1 to collect on way back to Uni this afternoon :D!

    3. Phone call from DD to say that DGD2 was being sent home early this afternoon - they called here for 'Narnie Hugs' before going home. As DD's b/f was driving DGD1 to Uni, DD and DGD2 decided to take themselves off to bed for the afternoon - probably the best place for them both as they looked shattered.

    4. Phone call from DSis - we're planning a family party at DBro's house in a couple of weeks, so all looking forward to meeting up - 'last bbq of the season' for them. DSis is still recovering from 2 ruptured aneurysms last Christmas - we really thought we were going to lose her at one point. Scary time  She still has another 3 that are being very closely monitored - but all's well at the moment :T.

    5. Lovely evening meal - out of freezer stocks - so nothing spent today :j. OH has done ALL the dishes. Golden rule in this flat - 'Whoever cooks the meal, DOES NOT DO DISHES!'.

Church in the morning and I need to visit an old friend/work colleague on the way back home afterwards - I heard that she's very poorly and I KNOW that she doesn't have any family at all :(.

Hoping that Mrs Sleep Fairy is very kind to all of us tonight :)!
  • For today:
    - I went swimming.
    - took two loads of stuff to the cs.
    -had a good sleep.
    -a lovely day out.
    -visited a friend.

Managed to declutter, rearrange & tidy 90% of my large wall unit - several items in cs bag

Received my Premium Bond cheque - £25 :T

DB phoned for a quick chat

DH made dinner - cheesey pasta - it was absolutely delish

    Pleasures for today (Friday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Hens well and 3 eggs today.

    3) Porridge for breakfast and some for the hens.

    4) Bigger son went to work.

    5) Money finally went into Paypal for my violin so we went out and bought a new laptop! My old one is nearly 10 years old and SO SLOW. PCWorld as spectacularly unhelpful as ever. Wanted to trade in the old one but they said no, as it doesn't hold much charge. Does that matter when they will scrap it anyway? So I reminded them that I have an extended warranty so now they are going to send it away, purely to have a new battery fitted. I will sell it on Ebay when it comes back.

    6) Watched Casualty.

    7) Phoned my school friend and it looks like we might be going to see Adam Hills later in the month.
  • A good day.

    1. Met a friend for coffee. She had good news the grievance against her has been thrown out. She thought it would be but good it was.

    2. DS2 drove me to the station. Good train journey and not affected by the strike.

    3. Went to rugby. We lost but did manage 2 bonus points from his they played in last 7 minutes.

    4. DS1 was at rugby with us and he decided to stay and watch the ladies match.

    5. Went to my sister's and her husband for a meal and to discuss house plans. Enjoyable evening.
  • Have just been catching up with all your posts. Am struggling to post pleasures as things / time seems to stand still and it feels like groundhog day most days, but I'm sure there have been pleasures just difficult to see them atm

    1. puppy now 14 mths old and much calmer. Still have to be careful with overexcitement otherwise she bites me. Recently vet has xrayed and diagnosed mild hip dysplasia so currently waiting for insurance pay out before referral to orthopaedic specialist

    2. cleaned my bedroom and got rid of layers of dust.

    3. took some books to the book bank - someone else can enjoy reading them and no longer gathering dust in my bedroom

    4. DS has a new gf who seems very nice much more mature than the last one and they are in same job so getting along nicely. She has room in shared house and DS spends much time there ... maybe he might move out soon fingers crossed ;)

    5. have put my quilt back on the bed as its turned very chilly in the mornings and evenings... no heating on yet !

    Saturday pleasures,

Leccy went off just after 9am, no warning. Pleasure was that I had just finished my bagel and coffee, not so pleasurable that was in the shower and it reduced to mere trickle.

Capt S off to big smoke for footie game so house to myself, pottered in the garden a bit, read a lot and enjoyed having no access to electrical devices, don’t always like the way they can rule our lives.

Walked small dog around the fields, quite a warm day and I got hot in my jeans and jumper.

Rest day for princess pony so just gave her a good groom, she is shedding summer coat rapidly so much grey hair floating on the breeze.

    Scampi and chips for tea.
