5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Hello.
Up early. And out as soon as it was light. Drove down countryside way to CP. Nice walk and then got the last of the ‘stuff’ from caravan and hoovered and washed floors and laid down a long cotton runner that should save muddy floors when I pop in and out over winter…that’s the idea anyway 😆
Will go down over weekend to try and clean decking and bring in table and chairs from outside.Home, quickly nipped into supermarket to get some flowers…RTC for me and a couple of bunches for friends. Home. Had breakfast and then walked round to DD2 to drop something off…a very quick hello baby and then walked back.
Hung out washing and it literally promptly started to rain!! Really?
Got ready for going out for lunch. Catch up with old work colleague/ friends. Twenty years of friendship! I had a lovely pasta dish. Three hours of chit chat.
Sunny drive home was hopeful for the washing…about half dried.
Log burner on and then a visit from DD2 and The Baby. She had her first bath in the kitchen sink! She’s now too big for the bathroom sink! All toasty getting dried and into jammies in front of the log burner and then three stories read.6 -
5 pleasure for today
- the unexpected - followed a banana and 2 minions into the medical school - 1st years are 'medical children' and paired with 'medical parents' from later years - this week is 'set your parents challenges'
- teaching - had the pleasure of 2 hours on QA with 4th year medics (they were the ones able to explain to me why i'd followed a banana and 2 minions into the school) - decided at 4 yesterday time for a brand new workshop - finished it 5 minutes before delivery - went very well and will use again
- finding DrM on my bus down to choir
- choir - we sight read a fab piece from the 16th century - challenging but good fun
- watching ACGAS with my new electric stove on

Actually slept all night! How novel!
So not up too early!
Did the hoovering downstairs and then upstairs as I needed to use the hoover to vacuum bag the caravan stuff! Hurrah all packed up till March. Then out to other end of town to meet friend for a catch up! So many catch ups this week!
Was very kindly given a gift as a ‘just because’Popped into charity shop at that need of town and bought a nice metal heart. I have a collection of hanging hearts. My favourite shape.
And home in the rain.
So log burner on and a quiet afternoon at home. Sorted out the airing cupboard to squeeze in all the ‘stuff from caravan’
Made a very tasty spag bol with plenty leftover for freezer.Chat to sister and DD2. And watched ACGAS …awh to being the last in series but I just love the gentleness of it all.
And will be having an early night tonight just because I can!

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) The new cat has forgiven us for trying to take her to the vets yesterday. (We tried to get her in the cat box for over half an hour).
3) Went to coffee morning.
4) Took smaller son to Sainsbury's. He went to bed afterwards and is ill now.
5) Rain and wind all day but no roof leaks, except for in the garage.
6) Tray bake for tea.
7) Looking forward to The Traitors again!

@Frith - We always have a problem with getting the cats in cages too. One time it took three of us. I didn't know cats could put their arms out sideways.

A definite pleasure for me is DH is now joining me in my weight loss, which doe’s help, not jabs, food/exercise
In my looking for a winter dress, I’ve come across a reasonably long but not too long velour dress, multi coloured, DH saw me looking and said he likes that one, he’s ordered it for my birthday. He’s optimistic with my sizing we’ll see.
Walked up the road to pick up an Olio from a local person, a healthy-ish one, greens, cabbage, sugar snaps, sprouts, cress, and some hot cross buns.
One of the ferret areas topped and tailed.
A batch cooked portion turned into spaghetti bolognaise.

For yesterday,
Horses were kept in due to storm so breakfast then over to see my big girl, skipped her out and gave her a large hay net to keep her happy for a few hours!
Home and did a few financial admin jobs that had been hanging around for a while, nice to tick off list.
Bottom of fridge soup for lunch.
Back to stables, break in weather so gave her a walk around and grazed her in-hand for a bit, then rain came back with a vengeance, finished up and floated home.
Butter chicken for tea then enjoyed the Traitors.

DH had a check up with the doctors, and while his cholesterol is in their made up normal limits, the good hdl, needs to outweigh the bad ldl, and so I have adjusted the meal plan to encompass fish a few times, we are starting tomorrow with fresh haddock in welsh rarebit sauce and mustard.
Putting together an animal order for delivery, they need litter pellets, their treats are on offer, and we have a voucher from the pet club for £2 off. While the car is recovering from being ill! i.e. being a basket case still it will recover with more work from DH but no workshop so the weather needs to be kind, hoping for a good day tomorrow, and carrying litter bags is no fun.
Portioned up some of the aldi chicken and bones into meal portions with their various other menu bits, poultry hearts etc.
More washing, and I’ve run out of places to hang it all, the hanger in the bathroom doesn’t dry well but may be the only option with the animal bedding taking up the other hallway drier.
The heating is still not on, but I am sitting here wrapped up warm. We did pop it on, for one night as too cold aggravates the asthma.

For the past few days
- Enjoyed my dog walk in the rain. It was very wet but I wouldn’t have gone out if I wasn’t taking the dog out.
- Long chat with my Mum on the phone.
- Managed to sort out and put away a couple of piles of stuff which have been annoying me. It looks much better now.
- Council quickly moved a tree that had come down and was blocking the road. DH had been able to move enough so a car could just get past. The road the other way is closed as a water leak is being fixed so we would have been stuck.

Pleasures for yesterday (Saturday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Only about 5% of my bad cold to go.
3) Cat is ok.
4) Retrieved soaking wet curtains off the line, quick cycle of washing machine and on the radiators!
5) Went to the local former signal box, open 2 weekends a month for tea and cake.
6) Bigger son and his fiancee came to see the cat.
7) Went to the football and, as I parked, the storm brought a branch down from a tree, missing all the parked cars and twisting round to lie neatly on the pavement! My brother also went to the football.
8) Chips in the car for tea.
9) Phoned my school friend.
