Highdays hope you’re feeling better soon
Tuesday pleasures …my little family are back from their holiday. I’ve had a squish of my baby who has grown sooo much in a week!Up early. Thunder and lightning! We’ve had all the weather today! Crazy! Heavy rain. Wind. Sun. Rainbow. Hail! Log burner on this afternoon!
Finished moving furniture around upstairs ( bar one piece that’s for my next project) bathroom cleaned. Floors hoovered and washed. Caravan bedding ironed and just need to get new vacuum seal bags.Made soup in slow cooker. Who knew? Not I. It’s delicious! Fling it all in and a few hours later it’s all done. I just has never thought to make it this way. Made a rhubarb crumble. Had a bag of crumble mix I’d made in the freezer and have a load of chopped rhubarb in the freezer. It made me smile. We used to have soup and pudding teas ! Very cheap and cheerful 😀
Sat on the reclining chair which I don’t usually. Feet up. Fire on. New book. Snoozette!
Chat with friend and quick chat with sister.
Early night with book!

A dinner of build your own wraps using the last of the Korean chicken.
I started trying to sort out leftover clothes, and the ferrets who never have access to the wardrobe decided to help me, it was rather a surprise when, when our little black Waffle was eyeing me from the top of the hangers just laying across them. She then helped me pack things in one of the boxes and came out very insulted that there are clothes that don’t/didn’t smell of her.
Time to add some brandy to the shopping list to start the festive soak of fruits.
Walked around to Aldi for basics, and picked up some half price strawberries.

it’s been a while since I posted. Finding it difficult to find the time. Not been particularly busy.
dome for past few months- Granddaughter is gorgeous- she is growing fast and becoming her own personality
- DS1 wife pregnancy is going well at the moment. A few scares along the way but good now.
- DH has had a couple of health problems but is hopefully improving. He isn’t very good at letting anyone know if there is a problem.
- Seeing many friends for met ups of various types. Appreciate how it enriches my life in lots of different ways, often small, ways.
- My Mum is doing well still and has been on lots of trips to see friends.
- Financially tightening the belt and so possibility of retiring and going on lions tour may be possible.
- On a short break to France at moment so feeling relaxed.
I will aim to post most days as appreciating the small things in life is what I need

Hello
Awake from about 3am and finally got backto sleep when alarm went off. Don’t often set an alarm these days but had an appointment first thing…well I kept pressing snooze button and falling fast asleep between each snooze! Had to make myself get up!
Took doggy in the car so we could just head off after appointment. Drive down the countryside way ( as opposed to motorway through countryside ) we had a lovely walk . Dry but breezy and we did a wee extra bit of walking. Popped into caravan to pick up 4 throws/blankets.
Home and first load of washing out and then got two loads with the blankets out. Bit of a full washing line! But all dried. So windy here but has stayed dry though rain forecast for soon.
Did a bit of pruning and cutting back in the garden. A very lovely verbena self seeded in the stones and was a beautiful but huge plant and I couldn’t get into the plants behind so time to say thank you you were wonderful over the summer but goodbye!
DD2 and The Baby picked me up and off we went for a very lovely lunch in the next village. Lots of lovely baby cuddles and a lovely lunch.
Stopped at little phone box library and borrowed a few books as I’m in a reading phase.
They came back to mine for the rest of the afternoon and have just gone home.
Candles and lamps on and feeling cosy!

Up early and had scrambled egg as a change from the continuous porridge.
Cleaned the house again, but it won’t pass intricate inspection. I did deep clean the windows downstairs.
Cooked up some sausages, DH had toasted sausages in a roll, while I had tuna toasted in a roll. Dinner will be toad in the hole.
The sun came out for a bit so I filled the washing line up, although I’ve gathered it all back in again.
That fresh bedding feeling after a bath.
DH is working on the car to get it back on the road, but I’m glad there’s no swear jar, it’s not back on the road just yet. Just ordered the car battery in, and saved over £100 by shopping about, and ebay giving a voucher for ten percent off.

PM2BOP we's out the tin cup but still in the tin trophy - the foxes are out of both. oh dear. We play them 24th - DrM is 'resigned'
Yesterday I went on a retreat day - my friend was leading a 'creative day' - singing, swimming, painting (though I knitted instead - they had an invitation to knit a square for a peace blanket - I chose the dove square), sharing stories of our life (lovely Spanish guy who shared his love of a poem which had 'ceso to do' - everything stopped), yummy food and a wonderful break from the stress of work. In the afternoon we did a poetry workshop and were invited to write a poem. We didn't have to use one of the structures shared, but I was intrigued by the pantoum. This poem includes my pleasures for the day:
I’m knitting a square to reveal a dove
Unknotting the worries and cares that I hold
I’m knitting a square in a place of love
Knitting the yarn while yarns are told
Unknotting the worries and cares that I hold
Singing the chant Jubilate Deo
Knitting the yarn while yarns are told
Leaving my cares, cesó to do
Singing the chant Jubilate Deo
I’m’ knitting a square to reveal a dove
Leaving my cares, cesó to do
I’m knitting a square in a place of loveI stayed for dinner then back to Dundee for the 2nd half of the Arsenal match. Perfect end to a perfect day

For the last couple of days,
Monday and a trip into horsey town, coffee with pal and a few rtc goodies from emporium.
Big girl had the farrier, she’d chipped one of her hind hooves but he filed it down and sorted. The ground is still so hard and add to that the flints that make their way to the surface.
Long chat with bf and arrangements made to meet up next week.
Mild, breezy weather and washing still being dried on the line.
Butternut squash and Gorgonzola risotto with enough for leftovers the next day.
Needed a ratchet strap for the large hay bale I’d purchased, click & collect from local store and dropped off a bag of unwanted winter clothes at the CS opposite. @ampersand will know where.
GBBO and the hilarious challenge!
Busy afternoon at the yard, mucking out and listening to ghost stories.
Our first baked spud of the winter.
