That’s great news @DundeeDoll 🎉
For yesterday,
Planning a weekend away in London, I’ve never been to Westminster Abbey so that and the National Gallery are on the list of things to do.
Trip to the dentist to have a permanent crown fitted, only took 20 minutes and he’s a lovely chap but I’d rather not see him for a while now thank you very much!
Nice afternoon after a wet start so jobs done at yard including poo picking field, madam was in and munching on hay.
Home and got the tea on, soaked some dried fruit in hot tea ahead of making a Bara Brith today.
And relax, Traitors followed by Gogglebox, wine & chocolate.

Morning all.
Excellent news, DDoll, and a huge relief though still a worry for colleagues, always a very stressful time.
Recent pleasures:
- Starting to rally a bit and feeling much more like 'me' thank goodness.
- More tests and appointments - a good thing, need to get to the bottom of this.
- Middle grandson failed his first driving test on a small technicality but has his next one booked and in the meantime has got himself a new job.
- Beautiful mild and sunny autumn weather.
- Plans finalised for a few days away next week to celebrate brother's 70th.
A ahopping trip for us this afternoon , not very exciting but first time properly out in a few weeks so lookng forward to it. Hope you find some pleasures in your day.

- dd2 up for the weekend and the sun shone all day
- made a tasty cauliflower cheese for lunch
- then we went to the garden centre - as we were in the car I finally got my bird bath (birthday pressie from mum 14 months ago lol) - this and a few other items entitled her to a £10 voucher
- 'free' coffee (mum and i both have a dobbies membership)
- then spotted mum's fave calendar (Matthew Rice) which she buys every year - £11 so recommended she use her voucher which she did :-)
And now in bed with a cuppa and News Quiz

I went for a walk to pick up an Olio I requested off someone locally, this time it’s Waitrose goodies, cognac mince pies were a pleasant surprise, sweetcorn, chopped greens, baby pots are all tonight’s food as well. I’ve popped the ancient grain bread in the freezer for tomorrow.
Enjoyed the walk there and back. The car battery arrived today, very battered, photos and comments sent over, they’ve been amazing sorting it out, a new one will be with us Monday, so they say, so we’ll see.
Cleaned out the ferret fleeces, a Friday habit I have popped it on the line in a hope that it will dry off.
I sorted out some clothes into sets, but it doesn’t really work, but it’s nice to see what’s there.
I don’t feel like I’ve done much but my body seems to be saying enough, and listening to it, having to recoup on the sofa, there’ll be meds with dinner. Gives me time to look at the Joe Browns catalogue with all thing’s velour/velvet it’s one of those seasons made for me, but things just seem too pricey to justify.

Good morning. We are just back in bed after a very frosty early morning doggy walk! A beautiful star filled sky.
And that’s exactly how Saturday began as well.
Then it was time to empty a wardrobe in my office room and oh at all the blooming stuff that was in it! Now all over the room! Painted and papered it. Been on the mental to do list for a long time! And removed the broken set of drawers and replaced with my dad’s bedside drawers! That had been repainted and new handles put on ( that I got in a charity shop) Still a bit to tidy up but I had got a fair amount done yesterday.
Had made soup in slow cooker. Was alright! Not the most flavourful. Took a tub round to DD2. She ate her soup and I soothed a grumpy baby…teething we think. Then we went a nice walk. Nice walk there and walk back home.
Log burner on. In amongst the sorting of the office room. Had some pasta for tea.
Had stripped my bed so got that remade.
And actually slept not too bad! By my standards. Awake just after 4am and waited till 5am to go out with dog!Today is all about sorting out the piles which are starting to overwhelm me! Piles of caravan stuff to be vacuum sealed! Piles of jeans taken out the drawers that have been moved. Piles of work files to be put back! And go down to caravan to bring some more stuff back here! Waaah!
Have a lovely Sunday8 -
Enjoyed my day yesterday
- Seeing a group of flamingos fly over a lake. They are surprisingly elegant when flying.
- Lovely lunch at restaurant which is reasonable (ish) for the set price lunch.
- Helpful shop owner opened her doors so we could escape the tear gas from the police controlling a demonstration. We are in France and in England nothing much would have happened.
- Back to apartment and enjoyed reading my book.
- Did a very easy workout.

For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in until 8 then mushrooms on toast for breakfast.
Made the tea loaf and set a batch of bread dough to prove.
In the garden, cut down and mulched my vulnerable pot plants, pelargoniums, agapanthus and fuchsias then placed in the best position to avoid frosts, ie in the old well!
Over to yard, by this time the rain had come over so hurry hurry to get girlie’s stable done as I could see her in the field, standing with her hind end facing the deluge. After washing her feet off and changing wet rug for dry she was finally in and we listened to the end of a Sherlock podcast together.
United won again, away to Barnsley and are doing well, a good start.

another sunny day
- after church we went to B&Q to look at electric 'stove' fires for the sitting room and music room - success (and 20% off) - had to leave mum behind to get them both home (the car is a micra!)
- mum very happy in the garden centre bit - she was sitting enjoying the sun when we got back
- then off to HB for lunch - very mse prices - they do a roaring trade
- evensong was lovely - Joanna Forbes L'Estrange Mag and Nunc
- stoves now both set up - sitting room one on and we watched Listed Buildings episode one - very good

- House cold when we arrived back- shock to the system
