Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Had a bit of a lie in as smaller son is ill so I just had to cancel his taxi at 7am then went back to sleep. Unfortunately, as I wasn't crashing around downstairs, bigger son didn't wake up and missed his bus so I had to take him to college!
2) Did a second coat in the bathroom and it does look better, though it could really do with a third...
3) Hens well today.
4) My brother came up for chips from the van and to play Settlers of Catan.
5) Watched GBBO: an Extra Slice (which I enjoy almost more than GBBO!) and Gogglebox.
6) Smaller son has managed to make himself lots of money by selling his old PS games on Ebay.0 -
BoPsie is from the powder room. She is ok.
Only one thing to do now in the Big Apple. BoPsie is devouring a cheesecake!0 -

Good morning. I was asleep early last night so awake early this morning. Just going to fling some warm clothes on and potter around kitchen putting things away.
Yesterday was rainy then got even rainier! Crazy. Was localised flooding...including my house! Leak through new roof that's not been roofed. And patio doors were mid fit when it came on so living room floor was flooded!
I went to my good friend's mum's funeral. It was a beautiful service and nice to see others I don't see too often.
As I'm dizzy I didn't want to drive if I could help it so I'm grateful for friends who picked me up and dropped me off ( in the torrential rain at that point...bit of a hairy drive!)
That moment when the builders leave for the weekend. And all is quiet.
Starting to put things back in kitchen , where i can, and start to reclaim living room a bit more!
Have a lovely weekend0 -
Good Morning,
Friday
1. Had a smaller group on my own. We have finished 3 picket fence panels, together, as a team. I am so proud of them.
2. Ladies clothes don't usually have pockets, and I keep loosing my radio. I have found an old phone case, with a cross body strap to carry my radio. Hopefully, loose it less often!
3. Good woopsies in Mr A on the way home.
4. Tom Kerridge lasagne for tea.
5. Felt poorly when I got home, so nice to snuggle up with a cup of tea, the wood burner and No Offence.
Still feeling a bit under the weather this morning.
Have a lovely day0 -
Morning
- enjoying it being the weekend after a frantic week
- holiday on Monday so we've got lots to do
- seeds germinating madly
- was told the twitter campaign I've started for work is getting us noticed
- much as I love the dogs, and feel sorry for them going into kennels, they're had work so looking forward to a week off!0 -
1. Met a friend for coffee. She has had a tough few weeks and needed a break for an hour or so.
2. Went by train. Enjoyed the journey and it made me walk further which is good for my back.
3. House tidier and took quite a bit to the charity shop which made a couple of drawers easier to open.
4. Spent bit of time in the front garden which now looks better.
5. DH ordered stuff for work which he keeps in the house until he needs it. All my de cluttering must be working as everything is now stored in cupboard under the stairs in the past I have had boxes in the hall for weeks.
6. Did some gardening then had a drink in the garden with DH while DS2 cooked sausage casserole for tea.0 -
Your poor DGD, olliebeak - asthma attacks must be so scary. I'm glad she's on the mend now.
My pleasures for Friday:
1) A squirt of my favourite perfume (& choosing NOT to save it for best!)
2) Homemade hummus for lunch. Cheaper and tastier than shop bought.
3) A visit from my best friend - a long natter, copious amounts of tea and a little crafting.
4) A funny text exchange with DD.
5) An early night.0 -
Thank you for your thoughts, lifeintheslowlane - she's definitely 'on the mend' and just waiting to hear about going back home :T. She was supposed to be spending time here tonight, but I'm sure she'll want to be with her mum at home after 2nights in hospital with all the night-time disruptions
.
My 5 Blessings for yesterday - not immediately obvious ones :undecided :
1. Although DGD2 has spent time in hospital, feeling blessed that the treatment was successful and that she's well on the way to recovery now :T
2. DGS1 had a good day in 'Farm/College' and wasn't too 'disturbed' about his sister being unwell and mum having to spend time at hospital with her.
3. Trip to A$DA during the day - Jacket Spud with Cheese & Beans (in their cafe) for lunch with a Coffee - grand total of £2.50 :j ................ bargain in anybody's language:T. Bumped into quite a few neighbours from where I used to live - so had a lovely catch-up with them
.
4. Quite a good shopping session - good prices (cheaper than my 'very local' Mr T) - topped up with fresh salad/fruit/veg/milk/eggs/cooked meat :j.
5. Bumped into our 'retired Minister' on leaving shop - was lovely to see him again. Such a 'great, down-to-earth person' - an ex-lorry driver! He knows my dgd2 from church, so I know that he'll add her to his prayers :T.
Hope you all have lots to be grateful for today.
