  • 1 A very lazy today a complete pleasure.
2 Divvied up yesterday’s Costco gammon and sausages into the freezer for stock and grated up the cheese block in the kenwood then bagged up to the freezer.
3 An animal washing load done.
4 Watching Smokey and the Bandit followed by Harry Potter a lovely laziness.:o
5 We researched a sofa we were going to buy and decided against it. So now instead we will be going out to see if the Parker Knoll feel comfortable.
  • 1. Coming home from our ‘minimoon’ and having plenty of food left in the fridge from our family party.
    2. Blitzing some stale rolls to make breadcrumbs for the freezer.
    3. Freezing 2 very ripe bananas for smoothies.
    4. Meal planning for the week ahead.
    5. A bag of apples from the neighbour.

PK - I didn't know Smoky and the Bandit was on! I would have introduced it to smaller son. I did watch a bit of Harry Potter.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Went to look after my brother in law and niece as my sister was away on a hen day. He is still recovering from his operation. All OK there.

    3) Hens well and 4 eggs.

    4) Bigger son drove to work and there is a marked improvement in his driving (thank goodness).

    5) Smaller son went to watch his team play football and they won 3-1.

    6) Popped to Lidl for a few bits.

    7) Used bits from the freezer for tea so smaller son had a lovely Narraways pie and I had HM veg lasagne.

    8) Watched Strictly then a bit of Last Night at the Proms.

    9) Readers with very good memories may remember my mentioning bigger son's friend who jumped from a railway bridge when they were nearing their GCSEs. He broke lots of things (he contains a lot of metalwork now) and was in a coma for some weeks. Today, he and son had their induction session at a local gym!

    Sorry to hear that BOP
Thanks for the update on the lad Frith good to hear.

    Saturday pleasures,

Jumper and jeans kind of weather.

Trip out to farmshop, stood in line at butchers counter and was pleased to see the butcher vacuum pack a couple of bits for older couple to ensure stays fresh until next Thursday, good service you wouldn’t get in SM.

Lazy kind of day with much reading and watching of cricket.

Snorkers, chips and beans for tea.

Last night of the Proms, every year we say will go to one of the concerts and never do, next year we are determined.
  • Morning, had a few days t catch up on and loved all the OS pleasures :):):)

    - All seed for winter/spring veg has arrived - but cut-price E*ay purchases so no sowing instructions on label, so Googling first then sowing, one of my favourite things :)

    - Catching up on Gardener's World :)

    - Statement arrived for T*sco 0% credit card - this might not sound like a pleasure, but OH had at some time turned off paper statements for the one we transferred from, so it was just a minimum payment each month, and he got more and more afraid to log on and check and face up to it (but still had the card and added to the balance )- the balance is large but we have snowballed an have a plan and it feels good t have it under control :j:j

    - only a week til our hols :j

    - Lots of late blooms on the roses

    Have a lovely Sunday

Good to hear about sons friend Frith.
    1. Long chat with friend in the phone. Mainly about gardening as it's something we both love and relaxes us both.

    2. Spent time in the garden. Not doing as much as I would like but as much as my back would allow. I did move some blue bell bulbs from a new vegetable plot to a section under trees.

    3. Went to MIL house with sister and her husband who looked round and redid a few plans for us. DH listened to him and plans have been scaled down somewhat.

    4. Found more garden pots to bring home and decluttered the house a bit more. Brought some decorative plates home to see if I can sell them.

    5. Came home and had soup followed by omelette for tea. Much cheaper and quicker than a takeaway which DH wanted.
