    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Woke up to the sound of bigger son sawing up all the firewood I found on the newly exposed wasteland over the road. (Every few years they cut everything back and apply for planning permission which is refused).

    3) Hens well and 4 eggs.

    4) Went to thank my neighbour for feeding the cat while we were away last week - took her some eggs. Had a tour of her cottage (2 up from mine), which is bigger as it is 2 cottages knocked together - still only 2 bedrooms. She has much more comprehensive deeds than I do with my house so knows it was built in 1842. Mine must be about the same.

    5) Took bigger son to town for his doctors appointment and haircut.

    6) Spent the afternoon getting more wood and changing the beds.

    7) Chicken burritos for tea. Handed out the treacle sponge for pudding and smaller son said, "Treacle sponge and custard? Is it Christmas?" :-D

    8) Watched DIY SOS and 24 Hours in A and E.

School and college begin tomorrow... Pencil cases now correct, thank you, Ampersand.

    5 Blessings for today:

    1. Decent sleep and woke up to sunshine this morning - meant I could hang out all the laundry from yesterday :j ! Spotted 'lovely downstairs neighbour' having 'breakfast al fresco' in the garden, so had a chat with them. They are so lucky to have a back door straight into their garden - I'm upstairs, so don't have that luxury .............. but I DO have two extra kitchen cupboards in the corresponding space that their door is in ;):D!

    2. Hospital Appointment for a dressing check - almost 10wks since my op and still needing a dressing on the lower 1/2inch of the scar :( ! I'm sure they'll give me an invite to the Ward Christmas Party at this rate ;)!

    3. Used Hospital Dining Room to have lunch after appointment - lovely salad for less than half the price of what I'd pay anywhere else :D !

    4. Finally had to go and spend some money at MrT's - got myself some 'very reduced price Gluten Free Bread' - quality type bread, as well :j . Good reduction on some veggies / Gluten Free Pizza / cooked meat / cheese PLUS less than half-price filet steak and Gluten Free Sausages :T. Everything 'freezeable' has now been frozen and Pizza was halved/wrapped with cling-film before being frozen - so TWO meals for me out of it :D.

    5. Called at Costa Coffee to collect my Travel Mug raffle prize this one. The guy who served me - well it would have been to just collect the cup and then leave ;) - reminded me that each time I take it with me, I'll get 25p off the price of a coffee ....................... even better :T.

    6. Liver with Fried Onion Gravy, crushed baby potatoes, steamed carrots and steamed savoy cabbage for evening meal tonight - OH is in 7th Heaven ;)! Shhh - he's back on salad tomorrow :rotfl: !!!

    7. Lovely surprise visit from DS1 and DIL this evening (just as we'd cleared the plates away) - they'd dropped DGS off at Scouts and were 'passing time' till for around an hour and half. DGS growing so quick - 13 now. They let me know that he's doing 'Goalie Training' at Man City ground at the moment and he's been signed to a local Junior Football Team :D.

Hope everybody else has had a good day - take care and God Bless - Ollie xx

    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1. Started the day reading for work, in a beautiful cafe in a local village. Had a veggie breakfast and a pot of tea.
    2. Team day. So many good things about this. I love my team (all two of them!). We had a beautiful 5 mile walk, then a pub lunch - all courtesy of the company - and decided we're going to hire someone to help me out. Relief!
    3. Got home and the electrician had put new light fittings in our bedrooms and the dining room, installed an outdoor socket and done various little other bits and bobs. He's coming back next week to install our alarm system and rip the aerial/satellite thingies off the roof to restore the look of the lovely Victorian silhouette.
    4. Speaking of which, a neighbour posted a photo of our street - taken in 1905 - on our facebook page last night. You can see a horse and carriage outside our house. Am going to try and get a copy to frame.
    5. Lovely chilled evening. Read all evening, finished my book, polished off the second half of a bottle of Prosecco.

    Wednesday pleasures,

Despite cloudy skies we played hooky and went to the coast for the day.

Initial first walk soaked us all to the skin so retreated to the car to dry off and enjoy an early packed lunch.

It dried up so another walk, much longer this time, and little dog had a fine time chasing stones.

Found a couple of pieces of sea glass to add to collection.

We saw several seals who seemed very interested in us, for a while two seemed to follow us as we walked down the beach, one finally come up with a big fish between their jaws. Beautiful creatures.

The sea air and exercise gave us such appetites so as well as packed lunch we had a piece of Norfolk shortbread with a cup of tea and then an early supper at the local pub. They welcome dogs so little one sat under our table and was passed the occasional treat :D

Driving home listening to downloaded comedy, little dog slept all the way.

Wonderfully tired and slept right through.
  • V The mill that is, we are running away and they can take a flying pig for the shovel soon! Got it!

PM2MsLW We is on the Big Warster train again tonight as holiday mode starts! We gets offs three stops from Warster and one from Glawster! Curry will be wolfed down! Don’t forgets the model shop up from Costa after you got your cheese. BoP’s wonderland! There is a couple of caffee gaffs there as well so make your choice. Butcher is in Eastington, so get it from him. Welsh Dragon sausages will give you a tickle. At the shambles, you can get your cheese, bacon, eggs, and veg as well it is open on FryDay. More used than the farmers effort! Oh and the old records and nick nacks are there as well!

And we is outta of here!

Now I see that the MSM has again come out will shull bit news about energy. Some price cap! Take care. As I has said afore and again and again and again and again! FIX!
Elect General 3,200 kWh per year
Gas Heating 13,500 kWh per year
This would cost £1190 a year with a standing charge of £205 on top! Now you thought the BBC told you it would be £1136 a year! That applied to MsLW in Glawster as I have used the SW Engerland figures!

    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/system/files/docs/2018/08/aug_2018_-_cap_levels_for_publication.pdf

  • 1 Went to the inlaws for the day yesterday and spent the day working for them, it was nice to feel useful.
2 Back very late loaded up with a couple of marrows and plants and newspapers.
3 We had a tonne of litter delivered today, moved it from the front of the house to the back storage good exercise.
4 The inlaws inspired us to set to on the gardens, in the front garden I dug up some useless plants, and weeded the borders, then onto the back garden.
5 DH sawed up the metal blind to make it car size for the tip, and dug up an unhappy tree, I weeded the boarder, de weeded all of the patio, and planted a fusia, the garden looks more loved and in control.:)
6 Using up one of DF’s pureed meals to fill part of a marrow tonight, coupled with some veg will be dinner.
