5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1) The shower downstairs has hot water!!!
2) Lovely day with DD2 and SIL and those grandpickles at a street fair and then home for lunch and playtime, it's making me so very happy!
3) Gradually sorting out the boxes we have left and finding things that I've been needing.
4) Good rugby on the TV last night, Bath v Gloucester and Toulouse v La Rochelle both good games to watch plus more today WOOHOO!
5) We've started sleeping again, I think the move has been more unsettling than either of us realised but we're gradually unwinding (without having noticed we were wound) and learning a new house, new place and new life and it's good to have the challenge at our ages as we'd become complacent and set in our ways.0 -
Good evening, it's been a day of showers but is dry at the moment.
Some weekendy pleasures.
Very lazy/ reclined. Trying not to induce dizziness by staying horizontal for a long time yesterday.
Haggis has had two later starts ...obviously his tummy wasn't rumbling for breakfast. So that means I got to lie on a bit.
Beautiful walk this morning with his old lady friend, we went blackberry picking, got caught in a big shower and then it dried up again. Very blowy though. Berries in the freezer. Found another secret bramble patch...I will be back. There's loads! I will have a working kitchen by end of week so can start to use them.
Made a pasta with RTC sausages, onion, sprouts ( hadn't hidden them well enough son still found them!) , leeks, carrots , mushrooms in a creamy mustardy sauce. Very nice and a big tub for sons lunch tomorrow ...to be fair was the only visible tub!
My friend came round today. She's recently had a bereavement. Was glad to be able to give her a hug. Made oatie biscuits. Eaten just out the oven.
And so endeth the career of that oven! It's made many a cake and many a dinner so thank you but hello new range cooker I can't wait to meet you! ( you can call me shallow!)
It's been nice and restful this weekend. Nothing builderly. No noise. Other than the hum of the fridge freezer in the living room! Nowhere to be . Nothing pressing needing attending to.0 -

Frith, it was on ITV4, I'm sure it will be back on, suprised there aren't more Burt Reynolds films on this weekend.
1 I went through my baking supplies to drag out the ingredients for Christmas cake, the only thing I need to buy is grated almond.:p Might get the rest soaking in some courvosier tonight.
2 Numerous washing loads, our bedding, another load of pet bedding and our clothes, great weather for drying.
3 Autumn fleece bedding is on for us and the animals.
4 Cheesy veg pasta and gammon are tea, feeling very full now.
5 candles burning, and engrossed in a proper book.0 -
Yesterday's blessings:
1. Very damp day, but still feeling tired after yet another disturbed night - was up again around 2.30am to inhale steam/Olbas Oil. It seems to 'kick off' the minute I physically lie down to go to sleep.
2. Got majority of Friday's laundry dried on airer/radiator racks - think I'm going to have to do 'one load' at a time, but more frequently ..................... easier to get stuff dried on the airer at this time of year.
3. Visited the charity shop where I volunteer to chat with supervisor about changing my 'shift days' - I was dreading asking her about this. She was actually brilliantand said she can manage to 'jiggle a couple of us around'
. I'm going to go in a couple of times during next week, to get back into the swing of things.
4. A couple of free books that I liked the look of for my Kindle :T. Finished one book and started reading another one :j.
5. Minced Beef / Savoury Rice Stuffed Peppers for evening meal with Salad and Coleslaw. Used up minced beef from freezer and some ood Savoury Rice from cupboard.0 -
We’ve brought Manchester to Washington. It’s cats and bucketing down.
Kept dry. DuPont circle farmers market. Varied choice. Better than other markets I know of.
Went into centre. Around coffee shops today. Too wet elsewhere.
Now watching funny netball game!0 -

3) Bigger son sawed up some more logs.
4) Lots of cooking today, from porridge to leek cheese to meatballs to flapjacks.
5) Got house reasonably sorted and tidy ready for the week ahead.0 -
