Highdays - you have my sympathy re lack of smell/ taste. I have nasal polyps and can only taste/ smell when taking steroids. Which I hate doing but sometimes needs must. I hope you find a solution

Mad clean of kitchen cupboard doors, shutters, oven ( which is rarely used so not too bad) Think I'm spring cleaning a bit early
Making soup from broccoli and cauliflower stalks. At the moment it looks like swamp water! DH is out with his friend so he can do the taste test when he gets back.
DH cut a ring off my finger. Arthritis has made my knuckles so swollen I couldn't get it off. It is my grandma's wedding ring so very thin gold. He said he thought he could do it with snips and he did, with no blood shed! I now need to take it to a jeweller to be joined back up. That, and two other wedding rings, (mum's and godmother's) are promised to DGD. She be 18 in October so I'll give them to her then.
Nearly finished watching Patience. The population of York is falling daily! Will try Lynley next.
Right. Nearly finished my little break so now to sort the laundry.
Happy Wednesday everyone

Coming in after a Pirate Pete post is almost like coming in after a DFV one 😆
Up early.Went in to town. Parked at supermarket at top of hill. Had a very successful trip! First charity shop I got a lovely ( pretty and totally unnecessary!) floral shaped cake stand from M&S, two tops reduced to a pound, a lovely linen dress for £2.50 and a lovely jumper. And in other charity shop I got a pretty top for a pound and then 3 nice planters that will be nice at the caravan for £2
I had went into M&S to look for something else which they didn’t have however I remembered I needed new knickers…as I said in an out loud voice ‘knickers!’ and I’m glad I checked my loyalty card as it had 20% off said underwear 😆
Went to favourite town centre coffee shop and enjoyed a tuna croissant. Then it was time to walk up the hill…questioning my life choices of buying a cake stand!Popped into supermarket and spent a whole 60p on a mirror . And then filled up my car…now to be known as the very hungry caterpillar 🐛 with petrol! And then went to pick up a big Pup who came home from his walk soaking! So he got the car blankets soaking! So I washed them , hoovered the car and then as a great big treat washed the car for the first time since I got it! Driving through the countryside a few times a week makes it a tad filthy! Anyway the very hungry caterpillar is clean!Had washed all my charity shop clothes and hung them out as it was breezy. Absolutely still damp when I brought them in but a whiff of fresh air from them!Chat to sister as I walked round to supermarket. And on way out got a big bunch of posh flowers for £3.00
Walk home.Friend called for a chat.
And a couple of work calls to make. And that’s been my day. DD2 coming here for tea .9 -

For yesterday,
Topped up the bird feeders, lots of green shoots poking through cheered me up on such a grey, wet day.
A LW podcast got me through the cleaning of bathrooms.
Due to weather conditions the horses were all having a duvet day. My girl was fine although she had managed to make a hole in her new fleece 🙈 I always keep a needle & thread in my grooming kit so sat on my big box outside her stable and made a mend. My girl amused herself by leaning over the door and mouthing the bobble on my hat!
Home, switched on the twinkly lights and had a restorative cup of tea.
Caught up this week’s (?) Only Connect and being a “just for fun” one we could answer a good amount of questions
