Evening all.
Grey and wet here again today and noticeably chilly. Nearly the end of January and lights not on until nearly 5 this evening.
Heading off to bed but first some quick pleasures:
1) Saw eldest grandson briefly when he cadged a lift to the station, back to Uni city for the night as playing in a football match tomorrow. Still expect a little boy to come in but he's all grown up now, still gorgeous though!
2) Staircase building is in its second week, the banging and drilling goes on. They've set up a gazebo outside so can cut wood eventhough it's raining. Staircase is taking shape nicely, will be a thing of beauty when finished.
3) Caved in and got a quote to get decorators in. We need a refresh after six years and, willing though hubby is, it's too much for us now - well, we could do it if we had to but we don't have to any more. They come recommended and are more reasonable that I thought so just waiting for a start date and will go for tester pots tomorrow as I fancy a change.
4) Yummy lamb shanks and minted gravy for tea.
5) Monday quizzes, didn't do too badly tonight between us.
Hoping for a better night's sleep now I can breathe a bit better. Night night, sleep tight.6 -
For yesterday,
Still feeling bleurgh but went out to horsey town to pick up fresh F&V.
Made a big pan of carrot & zaatar soup with plenty of onion & garlic to boost immunity.
Over to see my big girl, she come in with a cut bottom lip so cleaned that up and popped on some Sudocrem. Not sure how she did it, perhaps on a sharp flint as they are prevalent in the soil. Took her hay out of the net as didn’t want her to catch it when trying to eat.
Home and a nice nap on the sofa.
Misty evening, very atmospheric.6 -

For yesterday,
A day of much weather, heavy rain and gusty winds, so found jobs to do inside including bread making and putting a SC pot of chilli on for tea.
C dog made several quick dashes outside, all the time keeping her eyes on me as if to say don’t shut that door!Chat with bf and arrangements made to meet up on Friday.
Over to see my big girl, her lip had scabbed over so just dabbed a bit of honey heel on it. Helped my young friend to move some hay over to our pallets.
The United game was on streaming service, not our best performance by a long chalk but we won and are now 3rd.

Back from holiday - had a fantastic time. Spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. It was the first time we had been there so a few highlights from past 2 weeks
- Friendly people - everyone was so helpful and welcoming.
- Stunning scenery and many different landscapes from te plantation to rice fields to jungle to beach to mountains.
- Seeing elephants, monkeys, turtles and more wildlife. The birds were amazing.
- Being driven - a different way of driving as have to keep look out for dogs and cows walking down the road with in some places an elephant crossing.
- Learning about the culture and influences of British, Dutch and Portuguese.
- The food which I loved DH not quite so much.
Back home and temperature difference is a shock.

Sounds amazing Villagelife!
For yesterday,
Oooft, an awful night sleep wise so hot shower & coffee.
Did a few errands including bird food and filling the mini up.
Chatting with my DB and he’s coming for lunch today.
Over to see my big girl, the paddocks are waterlogged so horses were in again. We went for a walk in hand and found some grass for her to munch on. Nice in the sunshine and the birds were singing away.
Laughing at QI but when I woke up it had finished 🤨
