Up early. Then dozed off and had a horrible dream so was glad to get up!
DD2 picked me up and we headed out. I needed dehumidifiers for caravan having taken a pile out the other day when I had checked in.
I had a £5 off voucher off a £30 spend at Lidl and I just don’t spend that much there when it’s just for me so she did her shop there and got a fiver off. Then out to hers for an hour then back to mine to pick up dogs and off we went to CP and had a nice but absolutely freezing walk.
And home. Had a wee snoozette and woke totally discombobulated as to the time!
Quiet evening and just came up to bed.

Recent pleasures:
Completed son’s accounts 🤷♀️ and submitted tax return a day before the deadline! Sense of relief and freedom 😊
Our colds are getting better but we both have lingering coughs which are still quite violent at times ☹️
the purchase of our bungalow is progressing and 🤞 we may complete in a couple of weeks. The sun was out this morning, so enjoying my freedom we went to a small local collector’s fair, a well being event at the golf club, not much at either. Then we had a walk in the sunshine ☀️ by the sea and the links. We then had lunch (an all day breakfast) at one of the many cafes we have yet to try. Not bad, but OH rated it fourth on the list of four he has tried 🤣 We’re certainly enjoying our retired life by the sea.
We spent the afternoon/evening catching up on Red Eye.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I like rain but even I'm getting fed up!
@villagelife how lovely - did you see anyone on a scooter with a goat? or a whole family on the one bike? and did you go in a tuk tuk? I loved visiting Sri Lanka.
Quick hello from me as work has been hellishly busy and off to India Monday (1.5 talks now written phew)
- colleagues - they ran a fabulous research day as no cost (as uni broke) and I am so proud of them all!
- neighbours - we had book club at mine yesterday - the invisible women - very good, and of course lots of catch-ups and laughter
- sunshine - 1 dry day in the week, so thankful, i got my tops handwashed and dried for India
- soups - just the thing for this weather - I made another two for my alphabet of soups challenge
- music - 2 amazing choirs - my lovely friend from Cathedral choir joined the RSNO chorus and sat next to me (cos i'm tenor in the RSNO) - he has a fabulous voice

For yesterday,
Some very welcome winter sunshine so spent a bit of time in the garden.
Made a loaf and tidied out the boiler cupboard, next on my list is the understairs one.
Afternoon at the yard, did a bit with my girlie then watched in awe as my young friend sat on a series of ever increasing high jinks from his ex racer, no malice from the horse just responding to having to spend long hours in the stable and then Woohoo sunshine!
United won again and are now sitting second in the league.
New recipe to me, chorizo and butter bean stew which was delicious and has definitely been added to the list.

It’s now drizzly rain but it was such a lovely start to the day.
Up early…bit too early to feed the doggy even though he’d have quite happily eaten at that time.
Finished off some work and sent that back so that’s all okayed.
Was to meet DD2 and The Fiancé at CP at 8.30am…we were there and they weren’t so we started walking. Listened to a woodpecker. I couldn’t see it though managed to locate the tree the noise was coming from. And then there were three deer in one of the lower fields so that was a thrill. And we sauntered down the driveway and then they turned up when we were about 3/4 way down and my old boy tried to run after the car to get them. And then when I said let’s go and get The Pup he started running up the hill! Awh! So had to call him back and then when we were walking round the field they were on their way down it and he saw them and off he went…just a dog wanting to see his big sister! ( all very safe for him to do so) and then we re-did our walk! Stopping at the snowdrops at the end of the drive and then wandering back! The sky was beautiful and it was cold but not windy! Was all just very lovely.
Stopped in at supermarket for some satsumas and printer paper! And home. And a mental list of chores to be done which hadn’t really been much done this past week. So I’m all up to date. We are a clean and tidy house to start a new month/week!
Bit of watching stuff in between chores.
And feeling much better than I did at the start of the week whatever that all was!

VillageLife, your breakaway sounds amazing.
Rain, so much rain, and we’ve still got a hose pipe ban, and the gits sent through a oh well it has to stay in place as we are so useless / the wrong type of water, insert expletive here.
The car passed its MOT, which is always a pleasure, however we are just about to invest in 4 new tyres, not such a financial pleasure.
Food planning for the next week, todays is building your own fajitas.
Checked what monthly bills are doing, and surprised how early some are taking things, that should have come out this coming week, they took on Thurs last week, no odds thankfully but isn’t on.
We had 3 of the ferrets chemically implanted / neutered last week, nicer and ironically more natural for them, but it does mean they get more in season this week, before they come out of it soon.
Planning a month of using what we have in the cupboards and not buying “things” month, due to various costs above, I’m not expecting it to be easy, but the pleasure is this place to keep me on track.
Reading February’s section of the almanac.
