morning all 😊
We went furniture shopping on Monday. Ordered a dining table and chairs and think we’ve found the sofas we want.
Big surprise yesterday. My son was going to a machinery sale near Maldon and phoned me the day before to ask what I was doing yesterday. Expecting him to ask me a favour, he said would you like to go out for lunch? Yes please! So yesterday we went to the very nice Italian in the Main Street in Frinton. First time he has ever taken me out ( he’s 38!). Think someone must have said something to him, but very nice it was too. OH was back near the old home town, meeting a friend then going to the dentist, so it was just the two of us.
Hopefully the bungalow buying is moving along, solicitor said he is just waiting back for a report from the highways department ☹️ hope he doesn’t come up with an issue 🤞
We’re promised a glimpse of the sun today so maybe a look at the sea when we go shopping later.Have a good day everyone 😊

Morning all.
Grey here yet again, don't mind in January but would quite like some sunny days now.
Recent pleasures:
- Little fella's birthday yesterday, he's now 11. Hard to imagine there was a time when he wasn't here.
- Started walking with my lad again, just wasn't well enough in January. Taking it steady but hoping to be back up to speed soon. Enjoying the hour of 1:1 chatting though.
- Some holiday plans are firming up nicely.
- Ernie was kind to us this month, covered the cost of a couple of pairs of new shoes for us both and assorted other bits and pieces.
- Out for a wander round an RHS garden today, there will be snowdrops for sure. Treat of lunch in the excellent restaurant too. Better get a move on!
Have a good day whatever you are up to.

wow @Frith that's a beautiful picture - you are so talented
quick update from Chennai
- modern travel - slight scare when I hadn't clicked through to get my visa - I had stopped at the email that said 'visa granted' - airport person lovely and went to check with line manager cos I couldn't get online to do the final click - they just entered the number and all well, except my legs which were jelly! upstairs i got wifi and did the final click just in case India needed to see it
- good selection of films - Nonnas was very sweet (and a true story), Marry Me was cheesy but loved it, Inheritance excellent (and great motorbike / car chase in India) Got most of marking done at stop over in Doha hooray
- Immigration didn't need to see the final visa document which was just as well as wasn't allowed to use mobile phone in that area. Then met by lovely Dr at 3am Chennai time with a bunch of roses which are now in my room
- Left breakfast as late as possible - my host etc were already there. After lunch we went to a medical school - between breakfast and that I got my marking finished which is a great relief.
- talk finalised for Friday - i had been led to believe it was 20 minutes, today i found out it's 40 minutes, it is now 35 minutes to allow time for questions and emailed to the host hooray. I bailed out of the group dinner - clearly no stamina - and had a quiet little something earlier. and now it's 22:07, my stuff is all packed for tomorrow, the car comes at 8am so setting alarm for 7:20.zzzzzzz

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
- Not a bad sleep.
- Why is the formatting on this so terrible? Not a pleasure!!
2) Went to the little cafe with bigger son for breakfast and a card game.
3) Planted out all the sage plants I grew from splitting up one supermarket plant.
4) Cleaned the living room floor.
5) At work as shifts have changed but they are handier than a normal week.
6) Cyclamen and snowdrop in the garden.

Early o’clock with Mr Dog…you can go out you are just not getting fed.
Did some worky stuff . Had printing to do and an invoice to make.
Had texted a friend to see if she’d be in later but she replied she was free now was that any good? Well why not! So round I went this morning. Took her a bunch of daffodils.
Popped into supermarket on way home got some bread and some beans and some dog biscuits. I’ve been buying a wee small tin of beans which was quite rightly half the price of a full tin. There is now 7p difference! I bought a big tin! So it will be beans on toast tomorrow too!An afternoon spent on the phone! Various calls back and forth! DD2, sister, friend…work.
Had stripped bed this morning hoping to get it out but it’s been so wet all day. And duvet cover wasn’t quite dry so have put in my old one which was actually my very favourite before I had got a new one!
Did a teeny tiny cutting g back of some plants just outside the back doors. And another pile of Vinted so have sold 2 items so far so shall drop them off tomorrow.
Realised ( thankfully) that I had double booked myself next week but managed to sort it all out by changing an appointment.

I had an interview today for a role, that is a wonderful fit, however IT let me down in style about 5 times with error codes I’ve not seen before and it is counting down to restart during the teams meeting, honestly it couldn’t have gone more wrong. Hey ho onwards again! Maybe it’s a sign of something, I’m slightly moping tonight thou.
Pizza slices for dinner, well because of the above.
We didn’t go to the shops while we were out running errands
A lovely lady dropped off a months’ worth of papers for the ferret’s litter, we’re very grateful.

For yesterday,
A morning doing mostly chores but listening to podcasts helped me through.
Chat with my bf and plans made to go to RHS Sandringham flower show in July.
Walking around the garden looking for all the signs of spring, some sunshine helped.
As always time spent with my horse. She has the thickest tail which takes a lot of brushing but I find it meditative and enjoy getting rid of all the tangles.
Dry afternoon which really stretches the daylight out.

for yesterday
- Blue sky for majority of day.
- Good day at work - saw mostly lovely patients which made up for couple of not so lovely ones.
- Seeing crocuses in the grassed areas at the front of the hospital. They were planted during COVID times and still look good.
- Optimism of a colleague who said it’s still light as we left work at 5.45. It wasn’t but there was a glimmer of light.
- A quiet evening

Lovely sunny but cold day at the coast yesterday. Enjoying living near the sea 😊
We went shopping, then for a short walk along to the pier and then to the pie and mash shop for pie and mash (with gravy 🤣) followed by apple pie and ice cream 😋. No cooking again for me.
Watched a couple of episodes of After the Flood, glad we rewatched the first series so we knew what was going on.
Might go swimming this morning if I’m not coughing then I’ve got my new patient appointment at the surgery this afternoon 🤞
Have a good day everyone 😊

Good afternoon. Blimey, it's cold. That has led to some very un- MSE putting the heating on. But we did get 76p in January from British Gas for using the peaksave thingy so that will help!
Lovely photos Paulie. I love the seaside in winter ( and in summer too!)
A get well soon card I posted on Jan 3rd to a friend who lives about 20 miles away arrived yesterday. Perhaps I shouldn't have used second class!
Got a new Jimmy Perez/ Ann Cleeves book. He's in the Orkneys now. As good as ever
Going to start again with the crochet lamb. My arthriticky fingers can't do amigurimi ( not sure I can spell it either!), especially on narrow lambs legs so I'm going to do it flat and sew it up.
Another premium bonds win. I've bought my money plant a new pot. It deserves it.
Happy afternoon everyone
