Good afternoon. Wet again! But yesterday was sunny so I suppose I shouldn't be greedy.
Village life - what a wonderful holiday. Jealous? Moi?
Finished my jigsaw so that's now packed up for the charity shop. Decided to start my crochet lamb kit ( another Christmas present) but saw that the hook was a cheap plastic one. Couldn't find my proper hooks so emptied out a shelf of my craft cupboard. Found the hooks but decided to declutter rather than just shove everything back. Found my mum's collection of press studs and hooks and eyes. Do you remember those little black canisters you used to get camera film in? One of those full of press studs plus about another 10 cards of them. And I don't think I've used one in 20 years. I kept one card of each and the rest are gone. Ruthless, that's me.
Been with my friend to visit an ex work colleague who is now in a home. It was a much more pleasant experience than I anticipated. She knew who we were, and despite a lot of confusion there were moments of clarity and humour. We'll go again.
This has taken altogether too much typing. I'm using my Kindle and words and random letters keep jumping about! Not sure why!
Happy afternoon everyone

Hello.
For the last two days. I’m still a bit meh in a lethargic kind of way with nothing of note wrong. Just not quite right! Sound like my dog goes at times 😆
Anyway yesterday we had a beautiful walk in the morning and a quiet afternoon.I had popped into workplace as I had been very kindly gifted a box of chocolates.
I have 2 new lots of work lined up. Such an odd job when you finish one lot and have to wait for the phone to ring…but it rang yesterday and again today!
Today I had to go to the bank. Stood in a queue but enjoyed the chatter behind me. And nice chatty chatter with the lady at the counter.
Popped into charity shop and found something I thought DD2 might like…so had taken some pics and sent her those and then had to wait!
So popped into the town coffee shop I like and had a very nice tuna croissant. Chatter with staff and then had to go back to charity shop and pick up the things as DD2 had said yes. And then in other charity shop I picked up a Joules raincoat for a fiver which I was quite chuffed with.
Anyway had parked up the hill and was now laden again!
And home and hello doggy!
A quiet afternoon…watching and snoozing and rewinding 😆the bits I’d missed by snoozing!
And just the stretching out of days…and the singing of the blackbird. And a beautiful big moon shining down this morning.
And I’ve had washing hanging out last two days which hasn’t even nearly dried but it’s not as wet as it was when it went out.
Got some lovely RTC flowers last night.
Much to be grateful for!

For yesterday,
A much better nights sleep and waking up refreshed.
Quick trip into horsey town to meet a friend for coffee.
Then home and DB came for lunch, a big bowl of soup with bread & cheese. Tales of his Australian travels and of course lots of cricket chat ☺️
Time spent with my horse, tidied up her legs and gave her a mane a tidy too, the neck covers on her rugs do rub it over time so good to get all the small tangles etc out. She dozed in a happy someone’s playing with my hair kind of way.Changing the mantlepiece decorations ahead of Imbolc at the weekend.

For yesterday and back at work.
- Day training- quite interesting but didn’t really learn anything new.
- Chat with someone on walk to work. I only see her every so often so good to have a quick catch up.
- Able to offer support to someone at work. She is having tough time at work mainly because her face doesn’t fit and she has her own ideas.
- Reading my book on the bus.
- An early night and a good nights sleep.

Hello again.
Ooh, it's a bit different here isn't? So this might be very squashed together or very spaced out….we will see….
So, recent pleasures:
- Enjoying the challenge of this post not doing what it usually does. A bit of late-evening excitement! Must just be me as everyone else's posts look fine. Oh dear.
2) More rain and dreadful for those affected by the floods and storms but, as usual, I've enjoyed January in spite of having felt unwell for most of it. For me, it's a peaceful, reflective month after the turbulence of a busy December.
3) Staircase is finished for now until after the plastering and decorating. It's looking great and the job they've done of wrapping it up in cardboard and tape and sheets of plastic is a work of art in itself.
4) Little grandson (must start referring to him as youngest not little as he is 11 next week and nearly as tall as me) came home from Performing Arts yesterday and announced he is Captain Hook in the end of year production. Properly miffed because he had wanted to be Peter Pan but that part is being played by a girl. Had a chat about it and the world of theatre in general and he's now happy that he has a very fun part and, in fact, was the only boy chosen to be in the performance anyway!
5) A very last minute request last night from eldest grandson for a lift back to Uni today - short notice was beyond his control apparently and due to a mess up with the Uni foortball team's fixtures. So our plans for the day hastily rearranged and hubby took him, no room for me due to all his possessions seemingly going back with him. We have a big estate car and it was totally rammed so his bedroom here must be empty. They unpacked at his student house, good job he has the biggest room, and then hubby took him shopping for supplies and we naturally footed the bill. Last time, I kid you not, his 'essential supplies' included lager and aftershave. This time chocolates, flowers, a gift bag and a birthday card, wonder if this is anything to do with his girlfriend's upcoming birthday??
Well this looks pretty dreadful and I can't seem to be able to do that preview thing so will jusr press the Post Comment button and learn from it. Apologies in advance…
Happy weekend everyone.

Good morning!
For Friday. Up early.
Then straight down to CP as soon as it was light enough and we had a very nice walk although it was blooming cold! Deer out in the top field.
Back home and got ready for work.
Out to meet the loveliest of families. They were honestly so nice.Home and after returning a quick call to sister whilst I ate a quick sandwich,
I sat and wrote and wrote! And it was such a lovely service to write.Sent it off and then had such lovely feedback from them. Waiting on a wee bit more information from them but it’s always a nice feeling to know they are happy with what I’ve written given the situation.
And then it was time for bed!Friend called though so a chatter with them.
Last day of January today!

For yesterday,
The pencil thin daffs that I’d picked up the day before were already out when I came downstairs, so cheery on such a grey day.
Met my bf at nearby GC for a catch up. I had a fruit scone with a hot chocolate despite breakfast only being a couple of hours before 🙈 oh well. Picked up another selection of the Wax Melts while we were there as am enjoying them every day. Also a knitted pot of snowdrops - sounds weird but looks cute and perfect for my Imbolc decs.
Home, quick change and over to see my horse. The weather had improved by then so walk in the sunshine, exploring the hedgerows.
Catch up with Capt S over a cuppa.
Easy tea of jacket spuds with leftover chilli, the rain had come over again but cosy inside with candles lit.

- Long chat with my mum on the phone.
- Managed to sort out couple of things I should have done ages ago.
- Early night - still feeling jet lagged.
