Morning! Very wet and wild here this morning. For Saturday. Glad to get up after a rubbish sleep.
Have been continuing to sort through wardrobe, so had a few things for DD2 if she wanted them ( she did) so that was a bags worth out and had then filled a charity bag that we dropped off at supermarket charity bin later. And a few things to try and list on Vinted today. She came over and we took the doggies to CP where we had a lovely walk! Then oh the excitement…we went grocery shopping 😆
Had an early night and then watched the final couple of episodes of the Harlem Coben series.6 -
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by coffee & croissants.
Busy morning in the kitchen, first thing I set some dried fruit to soak in hot tea then made a dough for proving, next was a batch of cheese scones so the oven was busy.
My girlie had been out for the first time in a few days and if her mud splattered face was anything to go by she’d had a fine old time! My young friend messaged to say that he was running late so put some hay over his fella’s door and then gave my girl a good groom, I was warm by the end.
Home in time to listen to the second half of the footie, United won again at home and are now 4th in the league, just missing out on an automatic promotion spot by goal difference so going well.
Baked the Bara Brith and then we treated ourselves to a takeaway tea.8 -
Good afternoon
I didn't wake up until 8:30! DH was up first! This happens about once every two years so definitely a pleasure.
Other recent
Out for a meal with DH, DD, DS. DSiL and DDIL. All our birthdays except one fall between end of October and end of February so this was our celebration. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Service was rather slow but we were so busy chatting we hardly noticed. But when we paid they knocked the drinks off the bill as we'd had some delay between courses. A definite OSP.
Weather continues to be grey but it's helping me concentrate on housework and decluttering. Not really a pleasure but needs to be done.
Bought a very reduced vine wreath at The Works. Hoping to copy an idea I saw at a garden centre with an ivy wreath standing on end in a pot. Sounds a bit daft but it looked good. I'll take some ivy cuttings and see how it goes.
Nearly finished my Christmas present jigsaw. A crochet lamb to start next. It can add to my Easter decorations when done
Happy grey day everyone

Was wet and cold to start the day here but kinda dried up enough that I chanced hanging the washing out. Came in half dried and finished off on the radiators.Just had a quiet day. Wrote a wee list of things to do and ticked them all off but also watched a few things I’ve been trying to catch up on. I don’t watch a terrible amount…but do have my favourites that I like to keep up with…I don’t even own a telly!DD1 had called me before bed last night for some medical advice…and I’d said let me know what happens…woke to no update…so chased her up and was glad all was now well!Friend called this afternoon with some lovely news.Popped into supermarket to recycle batteries and plastic bags…and walked straight back out!And cuddles with my lovely doggy boy.7

5) haggis neeps and tatties for tea - i made the bbc recipes whisky sauce - very very tasty and left overs are packed for tomorrow's lunch)20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5009 -
I’ve been to a Burns Lunch ( we’re all too old for dinners these days )
was really nice to see people on a Sunday ,it can be a lonely day .
couldn’t get a taxi so drove and took a bottle of alcohol free wine ,tasted like sugar free ribena ! But in a wine glass was the same colour as the Merlot the lucky ones were drinking .
used my alcohol allowance to toast the haggis .
washed the freezer before I went but it hadn’t got cold enough to refill before I went so will do that tomorrow
