For yesterday,
Small food shop and a catch up coffee with my friend, dropped a couple of books off at the emporium cafe.
Am still enjoying the wax melts that I got at the end of last year.
Fetched my horse in and washed off her legs before settling her in for the evening. It looks like the great moult of the year has started so guess she’s getting ready for spring too! Good chat with neighbour.
C dog had her latest check up and all is still going well. We can drop the steroid dose and the vet didn’t want to see us for two months.
Late home so tea was a quick pizza with salad. Tested grey cells with Uni Challenge then watched the last LC programme about Victorian crime.

Morning! iPad wasn’t charged last night and I couldn’t be bothered going all the way downstairs to plug it in to charger!Busy day yesterday.
Call from friend could I possibly pick her up at other side of town ( that I was actually going to an hour later!) so chucked my clothes on ( at least I was showered and teeth cleaned) and chucked dog in the car too (as he had been coming later) all the rush hour traffic and a set of roadworks…picked her up and then we were waiting at traffic lights on our one way system and coming straight at me was a lady who had driven up the hill (it’s downhill only) and thought she was turning left …almost straight into me! As two lanes of traffic were heading towards her! PEEEEEEEEEEP said the very rubbish horn on my car! OMG! Friend and I were a tad shocked…she then proceeded to reverse down the hill! Anyway dropped friend off and then had to head back down to other end of town!
Had a half hour meeting then doggy and I went to CP and we had the loveliest of walks…although enroute a rather older lady had pulled out right in front of me as she hadn’t looked to her right…and I almost ploughed into her! Sorry she mouthed! Anyway our walk was lovely and just what I needed!
Popped into charity shop on way home. Got a gorgeous shade of green cardigan and a brand new candle. And home. To grab a Vinted parcel and walk up to local shop ( 15 minutes walk) met my lovely friend also out walking so we stood and chatted for about 15 minutes…she had just been here last week!)
Parcel posted and popped in on the off chance another friend was in which she was. So in there for an hour and had a lovely catch up and then a nice walk home.
Little bit of work stuff done!Had a chip butty for late lunch/early tea.Chats with niece/ DD2 and late call with friend ( who I’d picked up!)
And I’ve had an industrious morning! It’s a bright and breezy morning so I’ve been optimistic in my hanging out of washing!Have a good Tuesday ☺️6 -

Early night.7 -
The horse has started the big moult Mhags but C dog is hanging on at the moment!
For yesterday,
The winter sunshine showed up how dirty the windows were so with the window cleaner coming thought I had better do inside as well!
Mini tidy of kitchen cupboards and wiped them all down.
Over to the yard, bit annoyed as girlie had been left out by herself and was a tad wound up when I went out to her. Washed down her legs and got her settled in for the evening.Easy tea of cheese omelette and chips.
Clear skies when I let the dog out for last sniffs so a bit of stargazing.6 -
Morning all.
A lovely still day here with a pearly grey sky.
Some pleasures:
1) Getting up after a dreadful night and the first blissful cup of tea. The new pillow mist supposed to help me sleep soundly did anything but. Finished up changing the pillowcases for clean ones at 3am as it smelled so bad - in reality I don't think it did but my current sense of smell distorts everything and to me it smelled awful. Clean pillowcases and opening all the windows quite wide finally helped me drift off again.
2) Luckily not too much on today. Car has gone to be serviced, son has gone into the office, I am home alone keeping an ear out for the men building a new staircase in the 'big house' which is estimated to take three weeks in total so better get used to the all-day banging and drilling. Will make the guys a coffee in a bit and take it through.
3) Spent a happy couple of days with atlas, ferry timetables, NT, HH and EH handbooks sorting a mid-summer week away to places we both want to visit - Beaulieu motor museum for hubby and Osborne House and Farringford for me. Quite a long way down south for us so stopovers are planned en route to visit other properties we are looking forward to seeing. Has the makings of a lovely trip.
4) Also been planning little grandson's birthday - we give him an 'experience' rather than a present as his birthday comes so soon after Christmas and this is also a sneaky way of us spending some 1:1 time with him too. He was saying he'd like to go back to Legoland (us not so keen!) so will offer that as one option and Cadbury World together with the National Space Museum as another and a tour of Anfield and Chester Zoo as a third and see which appeals most. Won't happen til the summer holidays so he will need a little something to keep him going in the meantime so lunch out and a trip to bookshops and the Lego store are on the agenda.
5) Yummy butchers' sausages and onion gravy to look forward to for tea.
Right, best get the kettle on and the coffee made.
Enjoy the day, whatever you re up to.
