Paulie I don’t know which pic I like best! All lovely!
Up early but an appropriate early! So dog got his breakfast!
Then as soon as it was light enough we were off out! Down to CP and had a nice but oh so blooming chilly. But thankfully dry.Bit of worky stuff to do.
Had a quiet day as tomorrow won’t be!
Chat with sister.
Friend popped in with the gift of dog poo bags!7 -
I took everything out of the larger bathroom cabinet, cleaned, and ruthlessly decluttered, gathered bits and found a couple of things I’m happy to find.
Also cleaned out the fridge properly and this time unearthed a chocolate bar in date, and I’m happy with that also.
Freezer to oven is pie and chips for dinner.
A snoozette.

Don’t think I posted yesterday so for yesterday and today
Went tenpin bowling with friends as part of a larger group .hadn’t bowled for years ( same as many of us )
Great fun but I was so stiff today my hip certainly did not like it .Not sorry !
Afterwards we went for a carvery and meal with a 25% off voucher ,very nice .
Today I have been and picked up DGS 1 from uni and brought him for his orthodontist appointment .
He insisted on getting the train back to save me 4 x 60 mile trips but we had a good chat ,he is very happy and settled .
Lovely to see him so happy he had a difficult childhood ,I did give him cash for a taxi from the station as it was pouring ,and it’s a long walk or bus
He tells me he’s sorted next years accommodation and is hoping his father will pay the deposit .
Otherwise not a lot done
Stay safe all

For yesterday,
£1 daffs, or rather 50p ones as the emporium had them reduced, took a couple of bunches and they are out already. Cheery on such a great day.
Made a big pot of leek & potato soup, lunches sorted.
Arrangements made to see eldest niece.
The horses were in, again 😔 so spent some time with my girl. Did some carrot stretches and walked her up and down the barn to say hello to her friends.
We had thought about going down to the village pub for a fireside pint but it was such a rubbish night we pulled up the drawbridge and stayed in.

Morning everyone.
Grey and raining for a change!
Paulie - you seem to be happily settling into your new life by the seaside, lovely to hear.
S/Sue - great to hear your lad is getting on ok, I think about him often and wonder how he is doing. Our grandson has his accommodation sorted too, it was always a worry when I was at Uni but they seem so much more organised now. Hard to believe they are almost halfway through their second year already.
Some pleasures:
- Little fella's birthday went well in spite of his brother being stuck up on the Pennines on a coach on the way back from a college trip for six hours with no phone signal. An anxious time to say the least as we had no idea where he was until a kind lorry driver walked til he got a signal and rang around and then college could inform the parents. There had been an accident in the dark and fog. They finally arrived home around midnight, thirsty and hungry but safe and sound.
2. Having some lovely but never to be repeated meals using stuff from the freezers, some of which I'd forgotten about.
3. Couple of nice days out this week in spite of the weather. Always nice to get back into the comfort and warmth of home and snuggle down for the evening.
4. Clearing stuff out as we have the decorators arriving in the morning. Big upheaval but will be good to have it done and everything can get 'spring cleaned' on the way back in and then that's done for the year!
5. My scan has been confirmed for Monday. Bit nervous as I think the MRI scanner is that long tube thing and I can get a bit claustrophobic if I think about it and not sure eleven months on that it will make any difference but it's worth a try - still no sense of taste or smell except now and then a most awful smell that's worse than not being able to smell at all! Anyway, it will be a step forward.
Right, back to the packing up.
Have a good day whatever you are up to.

@Highdays - My roommate is very claustrophobic. She has to be pretty sedated before any scans and one is coming up shortly. Her doctor gives her pills to relax starting about a week before the procedure. Me - I just close my eyes and imagine I am visiting one of the places I enjoyed on my travels. Last time it was Belfast and walking down Lisburn Road to the library that was in the old two story house. Sometimes I imagine myself in Stratford upon Avon, Crieff, or Hay on Wye. If I really concentrate, it takes my mind off the noise. Even lowers my blood pressure when at the doctor's office. Good luck on your tests.

For yesterday,
Waking up early and reading my Almanac.
Driving across flooded Fenland and seeing all the swans & geese grazing in the wet fields.
Met my eldest niece for lunch and we had a good catch up with loads of witchy chat. My niece treated me and I had BS soup with a cheese scone which was delicious.
Home, quick change and over to see my horse. Gave her some meadow hay & haylage, groomed her and changed her stable rug for a clean one.
Old 1990’s TOTP’s which only seem like 10 or so years ago but is actually 30!

Weenancy - thank you for your really kind and thoughtful response to my comment about feeling claustrophobic.
Never used to bother me, I was fine last time I had an MRI scan but I was an in-patient at the time and felt so rotten I didn't really care what they did! This time it's really playing on my mind and I've had a couple of very unsettling dreams and woken up panicking that I can't breathe. There's no logic to it - in reality I know I will be fine, as you say I will go to one of my 'happy places' and breathe my way through it. I'm feeling very annoyed with myself for making such a big deal of it!
Currently camping out in my bedroom with drinks (non-alcoholic so far!) and the weekend papers as we have decorators, dust sheets, ladders and paint pots everywhere - my 5 pleasures for today will be when they leave and the house is my own again!
