5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

For yesterday,
As Amps has said heavy rain for much of the day, I had to go into horsey town to visit post office and parked in nearby street but still got very wet on five minute walk. It’s very much needed but why do we have to get a months worth all at once?
C dog kept asking to go out then standing on back doorstep as if to say nah, eventually dashed, did business and dashed back in!Very much a day for house jobs, did a bit of admin and sorted out a cupboard.
The horses had been kept in but when I went over mid afternoon there was a break in the clouds so got the beautiful grey one out for a leg stretch and graze in hand.
Leftover cauliflower cheese and snorkers made for an easy Friday night tea.7 -
Writing from work, so I don't walk out and drive home... No managers, no stock, broken oven (for 3 weeks), broken heated unit. And painful feet and eternal sinusitis for me.
So, pleasures for yesterday!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Coffee morning was an celebration of the park getting a Green Flag, so i didn't go. I spent that time cleaning up the garage where the cat had been ill. So a pleasure to get that done!
3) Part baked rolls for lunch.
4) Another shift at work completed without walking out.
5) My brother popped round to play darts.
6) Bought a £10 bookcase from a lady on FB marketplace. It was made by the residents of Bedford Prison for her grandad, who was the governor. I think it will last forever.
7) Watched Gardeners World and made flapjacks.
8) My brother popped in again on his way home from work!7 -
Morning all.
No rain here yesterday and glorious again today, wondering if our grass will ever recover.
Happycas - I'm a Northern lass too but had never encountered a 'proper' fishcake before, they were yummy. Scraps too!
Some pleasures:
1) In a bit of a baking mood so making cakes and brownies to stash in the freezer ready for our holiday in three weeks.
2) Not particularly a pleasure but set me off reminiscing to open a box of white eggs. So used to brown these days but I'm sure eggs were white when we were young and a brown one was a bit of a rarity. Or am I remembering wrong?
3) Made the most of a good drying day to get all our throws washed and pretty much everything else that wasn't tied down. Don't iron much these days but seem to have accumulated a pile of stuff that will need a quick whizz over, try as I might I really can't sleep in unironed sheets. The pleasure is that hubby quite likes a spot of ironing so he does the work and I get the benefit.
4) Good forecast tomorrow so we will pack a picnic and head out somewhere to try out my new walking shoes. Do so much walking these days that I've worn out my old faithfuls. I like new things but I like them better when they stop being new and are just the norm.
5) Coming up to my favourite month of the year. It's been a lovely long summer, seemed to go on for months and months this year but I do love September best of all. Summer can sometimes feel a bit frenetic (love that word!) whereas September is somehow more gentle in a controlled sort of way. Blimey, did that even make sense?!
Running late this morning so just getting round to coffee and the weekly treat of a 'real' newspaper. Have a good day whatever you are up to.7 -
@Highdays - color of egg depends on kind of chicken doing the laying. Maybe the Avian flu has farmers raising a different kind of chicken. We are getting more brown eggs here too.5

For yesterday,
Capt S got up for C dog so that I could have a lie-in, lovely.
Made a loaf and popped a shoulder of pork into the slow cooker to make pulled pork for today’s meal.A morning visit to the equine pal, she frisked me for treats then I sat on her hay cube to cloud watch while she grazed around me. I did take some windfalls from our tree and threw a couple to her next door neighbour.
Afternoon at home, listened to the footie on the radio and United won 2-0 at home.
Watched the last in the series of Whitstable Pearl, am thoroughly enjoying the books and will order some more.7 -
Pleasures for yesterday (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did not walk out of work.
3) Had scampi for tea.
4) Phoned my school friend.
5) Was going to have a shower last thing but a massive spider appeared and crawled into mu trousers (which were on the floor). Obviously I did the only sensible things and left the trousers on the floor, told smaller son and went to bed.
I heard him get to for the toilet, look at the trousers, hesitate then go right through the house and garage to use the other toilet!!

Hello. Had a very productive day.Yesterday I felt absolutely rubbish. My head felt funny kind of tired and lethargic. Don’t know what was wrong, it wasn’t a headache or my dizziness just blah!So much better today and I’ve done everything I had wanted to do over the weekend.Today has also been bright but very breezy! However that dried 3 loads of washing!Changed curtains from white summer ones to big thick heavy ones! Washed the white ones.Hoovered downstairs and washed floors…pulled out sofas and the dog was delighted to be reunited with tennis balls!Washed the patio doors/big window.Brought out some seasonal decor and swapped stuff over.Brought out the log basket from the garage and filled it up with logs and kindling.Pulled down the sweet peas. They have been fabulous, got one wee tiny posy and seeds that I’ll send to my sister .Planted up pots I’d emptied the other week at front porch. I’d bought bedding plants as my nice thing to do for me last two services.I have a raspberry! Hu-blooming-rah! First one on the 31st August 😆
Did an ironing whilst late lunch was cooking. Work wardrobe all topped up again! It’s been a busy week for linen 😆Remade my bed…think that was my favourite thing that I had done it by mid afternoon and not at bedtime 😆
Cooked a RTC steak pie from freezer will have the rest tomorrow. With wee roastie potatoes from DD2 garden, peas and sprouts and very nice it was too!I have a teeny tiny bit of work admin to do ( invoices) so I get paid!!A much better day than yesterday!7 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not the worst sleep.
2) Another shift done. No one had booked a replacement for the afternoon shift so I had to try and do some of the afternoon bits in the morning and also clean up ready for next week. That was weirdly better, because it is truly impossible thing to do 3 shifts in one, so i knew i couldn't be criticised!
3) Went to the food share and had lots of bakery bits, 3 packs for barbecues, limes for smaller son's beer and a parsley plant.
4) Went to see my sister and drop off bil's birthday present. She is 30 weeks pregnant.
5) Got home to the sound of the hoover. Smaller son had rejigged his room, made a pile of dirty clothes and crockery, dusted and hoovered!!
6) Had a little barbecue and am still sitting outside now.
7) Rainbow over my house earlier.
