5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Good afternoon. Sunny today but did have a brief but very heavy rain shower yesterday.
Dundee Doll - Happy Birthday x
Highdays - when I was growing up if you asked for a fishcake in a Leeds fish and chip shop, that was what you got. I was amazed that in other parts of the country you got the mashed potato and very little fish version!
Paulie - beautiful photos. Good luck house hunting
Trying to sort out travel insurance. We're both old and DH has multiple medical things to declare so it's always a long job but I think we're nearly there
Redoing electoral roll. That bit's easy but redoing the postal vote is more tricky. Honestly,I could do with a secretary
But I'm still enjoying feeling calm instead of anxious so it's all good.
Happy 🌞 day everyone8 -
Happy birthday DD, from mixed weather Town of Horse and & on last bus😖back.Don't ask. More Doblo unexpecteds.#Anyway, 'here's some I prepared earlier.'Osps1.Frith knows this one. &, having been incredibly stupid, was also incredibly lucky yesterday. S asked about r/h wheel, that came off when emergency one went on. & looked old-lady brain-fade blank, then suddenly realised metal middle essential for new tyre to go onto.😬🥴 Had left whole shebang at rescue point. Back went &, c. 8 miles. DG, tyre still there. Hauled aboard Doblo and back again2 Tyre tracking being done as we speak. Thanks again to S. and P. Doblo relatively hunky-dory in time for many coming journeys. Left today's pick of figs, as S said he likes them.3 Early a.m. debadgering. & manages reasonably these days. Salon £80-ish vs &+MrT £4.50 is No Contest. College salon appts system might restart late September and would now cost £45-£50 minimum, said disinterested person eventually, half turned away, mouth full of sandwich and laughing with distant colleague. Merci, mais non.4.First potato bag emptied. Crop unimpressive, but okay for &, who can't remember when she last ate potatoes in any form.🤔5.Finished wedding cushions embroidery. Will bundle with trad. bits tomorrow. Not wrapping, but tying all together with wide white satin ribbon.
#
....and can now report from Town of Horse emporium that Doblo's shoeing+tracking is done.
& is fully, safely, legally mobile again.💓CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello! And I’m ever so glad it’s bedtime!
Up early.
Work this morning meeting a new family, home for lunch and then back out to meet another new family! So I have lots to write but I ain’t doing it today!Popped into supermarket and got a RTC Cumberland pie and had that with peas and sprouts.Friend popped over.
And The Chap came over to help me with something for work.It has lashed with rain for most of the day even though I went out in a short sleeved top and sandals and no jacket! It was nice when I left! This evening was the first time I’ve felt cool but I just put a jumper on. And I’m now in bed and I’ll no doubt feel overheated soon enough !9 -

Many thanks all for your birthday wishes - it was indeed a lovely day. It was the third and last day of our CPD and my lovely colleagues had bought me a birthday cake. The Latvians sang me "daudz baltu dieniņu" - they are very good singers. then our host booked us a cafe for an early tea and there was more cake. Then we went on a boat trip up and down the river. and both my host and my colleagues bought me earrings - they know me so well.
And for today
1) a trip round their simulation centre - very impressive
2) then a tour of their anatomy museum and lunch
3) got to the airport in good time and a very uneventful flight home which is how we like flights to be
4) when i got home there was steak round and veg waiting for me :P
5) and DD2 and birthday presents. totally spoiled!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
The wren was back having a bath, such a tiny dot.
One of those late summer days when the light is really mellow and golden.
C dog met our Postie, we were in the garden when he turned up so went to the gate so she could say hello.
My other girlie’s eye is much better but cleaned it out again just to be sure.
The skies darkened and we had some much needed rain, one enormous clap of thunder as well.8 -
Time for another?
Getting regular?
PM2DD I has a few memes, but I can't put them on here otherwise I will go the weigh of a previous name! But alas to say, they got slapped by the haddock! Now for the exciting good things in your version of the 'Life accordian to BoP!'
Binge watch inn 'Only Murders in the Building' on the mouse stream ready for a new series. Very good ASL episode. Cheeses were eated.
WfH this weak so Chloe gets her noon treats and snacks. I take her for a walk some days, but she is a diva.
BoPsie is recovering!
Buzby sends ato the needy!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!7 -
Hello! What a busy working day! I’ve just had a very hot shower as my back is aching with sitting writing for much of it! So hot shower and jammies on before 6pm
Optimistically hung out a washing this morning. It’s still out…it may have had a few rinses.Wrote my first service this morning and sent it off and it has got the go ahead
Then out to work to do a service. Which was lovely and such lovely music.Popped into supermarket and bought some bedding plants for front porch as my nice thing to do for myself after a service. A weekend job! Met an old friend of my sisters so nice chat with her.And home…hello doggy. He got a wee early half lunch before I’d went out so got the rest when I came in. Quick cuddles then back to the grindstone.
Wrote second service and sent it off. I wait for feedback. I feel I’ve used up more than my quota of words today with writing and speaking.Quick chats with sister, friend and DD2.Had macaroni earlier so don’t really need a tea.I may have to grudgingly put heating on for half an hour later but will be used to finish off drying the washing.7 -
Have mostly dried out - not feet, socks and trainers though. From emporium Town of Horse.
Pouring all night, long floody Fen roads, many idiot drivers.Raining still, as I write from up on ykw.1. May it be good for more figs, all &'s grape cascades, any possible aubergines, the other 2 potato sacks.🤞2. Listening to &'s beloved chanteur Breton, Patrick Ewen - completely there, until & can be again. These are his Berceuses Pour Les Vieux Enfants.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcM5qSIe2-w

Several set up many questions, in ways that reading wouldn't.5. More knitted slippers, dragon-y/monster-y, with noises😁👍, for sons of Alma patron, birthdays 5 and 7(seems impossible) a month apart, back from Poland next week.#Is anyone remotely up to date?/know what's going on with the Hurrchrrs?
