For yesterday,
C dog was very reluctant to step outside into the wet, blustery garden but quick dash and she was done!
The horrible weather meant that the horses were being kept in so after chores were done I made a morning visit to see my girl, she was happy enough to have a duvet day with a stuffed hay net, also filled up her treat ball so she could nose that around her stable.
A pretty lazy afternoon reading my book and watching the rain coming down.
A freezer / store cupboard meal, aiming to use up to make space.
Impressive sunset with it lighting up the big storm clouds and then the skies cleared & the moon come up.7 -
For those who don't visit emporium, this is in today's free newspaper:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/bAyEMcFJaYQjB8au5Another special moon to see.
#1. Teen badger seen at side of road en route to Town of Horse, lying stunned but should be ok.2. Thankyou to lady who bought, then deliberately left her new emporium coffee cup in trolley. Didn't want it after her free drink.3. Yet another pair of knitted slippers underway for old Uni friend, birthday next week. They're much appreciated in No Shoes Indoors households.4. Loving E.F. Benson's play😁'Secret Lives' - 3 long episodes - first on R4, 11 January, 1987. Clever, sharp, observant writing, as always with Benson. Much snobbery, deceit and very funny.5. Various cheesy use-ups in white sauce savoury bake, with rtc broccoli+other greens, ditto rtc emporium ham and fromage frais, h-g garlic+similar. It's lush, with 10 portions to freeze.#CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello! Dark o’clock here…sad face from me!Up extra early this morning. Did doggy stuff and then sat for 5 minutes sending off some work stuff at 5am…as you do! Been working with a family who’s on t’other side of the world, so timings are a bit different to usual.
Back to bed for an hour and then we were off out to CP. Had a lovely walk. Then I went for a swim. Just me which was nice…I do like when there’s someone to chat to but equally like the luxury of the space to myself.Hot shower and then another doggy walk and then left just after 11.15am. Popped into garden centre on way home and got a mixed pack of autumn bedding plants ( a tomorrow job) and then headed home.Got a washing on and out, was a lovely afternoon.Chat to friend.
Chat to sister.
Friend picked me up and we set off out for tea which was nice and then took a drive along to beach afterwards and had a nice walk…though she had a jacket in her car and I never so was a bit chilly.Lovely drive home. Then as we got to my end of town it was wet…as was my washing! So I have just put the heating on for the first time this season for a wee half an hour to try and get it dried. ( didn’t put it on last week)
Just going to go and print off next work service so I can have a work free day tomorrow! ( unless the phone rings !)6 -
For yesterday,
A wet & soggy drive into horsey town for a food shop and squelching around the emporium after getting soaked just walking from the car.
SIL came over at lunchtime and met C dog who turned on the charm with head resting on knee & much soulful eye contact.
We went down to the garden centre in the village, had a spot of lunch and did a bit of plant shopping. I was very restrained and mindful of budget but did pick up two salvias and a rudbeckia, bit of autumn colour for the garden.
Drove into Uni city and enjoyed an evening with Sir Jimmy Anderson. He was with his podcast companion Felix White and they entertained us with lots of cricketing tales & clips of his illustrious career. Very enjoyable.
Clear skies and a big moon.8 -
Hi everyone
A busy week here, just catching my breath before a busy weekend. Certainly been a change in the weather this week and we now have green grass once more. Pretty grey and chilly today and lots of wet leaves on the pavements.
Some pleasures;
1) And breathe.... the boys are back at school and college, just the Uni student to go back now.
2) Back into some semblance of a routine, getting some sorting and organising done and some household jobs that don't get a look in over the summer. Getting my house in order always make me feel a bit more in control, this probably won't last!
3) Looking forward to a couple of days away this coming week, a theatre trip and hotel stay to make up for when we had to cancel in March when we were so ill.
4) To brother and SIL's house for lunch today to organise plans for our next holiday in a fortnight. Very civilised. Did some nice food shopping on the way home so treats for the weekend too.
5) Great granddaughter is having a sleepover next door so we have been invited in for cuddles and playtime. Lovely and then we can hand her back afterwards!
Hope you have a good weekend with hopefully some nice autumnal sunshine in your neck of the woods.

Hello!Actually slept tI’ll after 6am which is later than normal!Today was my ‘day off’
Went to CP. Had a lovely walk, a swim swim, a hot shower , a tuna sandwich and then another walk and up the road! Sun came out when we were coming home…certainly wasn’t out when I was in the pool! Brrr! And wasn’t long in when I got a text to say my Wednesday family had handed in some lovely roses for me , so popped down to pick those up with a lovely card then went to supermarket. Got some fruit and veg and a RTC quiche. And home! Was just about to go into garden when niece called so had a very long chat with her. She had an ‘empty’…no kids interrupting 😆
Had my tea whilst chatting ( we were on phone for about 90 minutes) and then went into the garden. Potted up the plants I bought yesterday and cut back a tree that was getting a bit crazy. I may saw it down once the leaves are off. Doggy had three raspberries…raspberries have only ripened this week! And chat to friend.Been a nice day off.7
