@DundeeDoll - I agree with you about the Yes, Minister series - Amazingly enough it fits the politicians in the US too! I have the whole series on DVDs.3

Good morning. It's sunny. Even the sunlight seems autumnal now. I do love the changing seasons.
And so some serious garden tidying in progress. Anyone would think we lived on a vast estate, the speed at which the green bin fills up.
And meanwhile DH has almost finished putting together our greenhouse. Which again is tiny but has taken as much effort as a Kew garden size one. And he was a fitter, so knows what he's doing. But when it's done, the plant ICU can move in and free up the utility room windowsill. And I'll start thinking about seeds
And in more autumn news, I've started bringing the winter clothes back into circulation. I've decided this year to do 2 items a day. Much less stressful than getting the lot on the bed and despairing. Of the 8 brought out so far, 2 are in the charity bag and one in the rag bag. Serious winnowing going on here.
Even our menu is changing. Sausage and mash yesterday. I'm not a big fan of salad anyway 😂
Yoga today. Two weeks running. Almost a record
Happy autumn day everyone

For yesterday,
A warm & sunny Sunday in September, something to store in the memory bank for all those dark, cold winter days.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
The rest of the morning was spent in the garden, pottering and enjoying the weather. C dog is shedding like mad and isn’t so keen on a brush but I found an old grooming mitt which she adores so lots of fur flying around.
Winner winner chicken dinner then we sat down to watch the cricket, kudos for Jacob Bethell for his first century and Archer’s great bowling but as always my heart is with Joe Root who not only scored a century but handed his gloves to a young fan as he walked back to the pavilion, a phenomenal player and a good human being. Jimmy couldn’t have spoken more highly of him the other night.
Too much cloud to see the lunar eclipse but by the time C dog needed her last wee it was full & bright in the sky.6 -
Hello. Sun has keeked out! It’s been a day of mixed weather. Much rain and very heavy when it rained it was blooming heavy! But there was lovely sunshine in between!Up early.I had a work service this morning, which was nice.Popped into supermarket on way home. Got a few tins of soup and yoghurts for next couple of days ( dentist tomorrow)
Then DD2 picked me and doggy up and off we went to CP. Dogs had a good run! Shared some soup and then quick walk before heading back home.Delivery of a dog food container bin! Only taken me 11 years 😆 so manhandled 15kg of dogfood into that…and the dog ate the few that escaped. The delivery chap had some treats in his pocket too!And hurrah for the mobile library!Quick chat to sister l
Bit of work admin. Tidied up office and sent off invoice…then the phone rang and an ‘are you available?’ And so we start again! I did 4 services in last 10 days. So I have a couple of days off anyway!4 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to art class, where the theme was 1960s. Remembered to ask for the teacher's bank details, as I never have any cash.
3) Went to work, which at least didn't drag. No new shoes, no new uniform trousers. My holiday still hasn't been signed off so I shall buy my Eurostar 50% off tickets regardless. My 5th manager, who promised to sign my annual leave on Friday, has gone on holiday! Spoke to my new manager (6th in a year with 5 since March) but he seemed unable to do anything.
One oven has been broken for 5 weeks and the door of another failed this morning.
4) Spent 2 hours in the garden, weeding and moving some plants that had got too big. Sae lots of tiny frogs.
5) Might be going to Malvern with my brother tomorrow.3 -
1. One more aubergine flower has appeared and one aubergine. That looks to be all this year. Hope it grows to at least big leaf size. Had some beauties a few years ago, but not since.
2. First ones are ready and sweet.
😋
3. Finally sorted YHA booking, 2 nights £27 with Life Membership discount, merci millefois.
4. A less likely, but I strongly suspect, very welcome birthday gift for oldest northern hemisphere uni friend on Wednesday - luxurious feather and down Fogarty pillow, brand new in special carry bag, from the fabulous year-old cs, Nexus, in Town of Horse. She will totally approve. We always have a birthday lunch too, followed by happy Emmaüs scavenge. That'll be soonish.
5. Terrific service chez & yesterday too, dd. & did the curious Philemon reading, vv1-21 and another in the afternoon for village worship. All good.

So much has gone out of the house now, and it’s really making a difference, less clutter and less clothes is a lovely feeling, but still a fair bit to do.
1 Took Bandit and Skittles to see their favourite vet for a check up and flea treatment as it’s included in their health plan and they are a okay, and 6 months of flea treatment to boot.
2 Took it a bit easy as after doing a bit of work for his mum DH is feeling it a bit, it’s all well and fine saying “it’s my mum” etc but he is over 60.
3 Steak and chips for dinner so no complaints here.
4 A harvest of apples so they were prepped and cooked, some to one side for fritters tonight, two sets of crumbles and two sets for the freezer I have my eye on for Christmas
5 Dug out the winter shoes
