For yesterday,
Busy morning as there was a feed specialist coming to the yard with a weigh bridge, dropped into the VETS on the way to pick up C dog’s flea & worming tablet, parked in a side street and walked in to avoid paying for a ticket.
The yard was busy and it was nice to see so many of the other owners, fetched the beautiful grey one in and groomed her etc until it was our slot. She weighs 637kg but has a good body score so not too overweight given we’ve just come through summer. We were given a free sample of feed balancer but to her credit the lady did say that the one I was feeding from their main competitor was more or less the same vitamin & mineral wise.
Home, lunch and out into the garden to put the new plants in, had just soaked them ready to plant up and the hummingbird moth arrived to start feeding on one of the salvia’s, so close I could have touched him and such a beautiful thing.
Capt S finished work early so we enjoyed a cuppa and biscuits in the garden.
Dug out a new candle, I don’t like the evenings drawing in but candlelight helps.8 -
The week has gone far too fast - be Christmas before we know it! Looking forward to the moon ampers
1) very good team drop-in on Wednesday (had been considering dropping them as we also have a monthly but the weeklies are still valuable) - the team are amazing though we're all now having the odd wobble
2) keynote at the University Scholarship Conference - my given title was 'scholarship with impact' so, in light of current uni problems, framed it as scholarship being our compass, not something we put off for the next 12 months - low on theory, low on references but the talk I think needed in these difficult times (feedback suggests it was indeed)
3) no footie mid week due to internationals so DrM and I watched the tennis instead - MrG joined us Wednesday (no interest in tennis but we had good discussion on magnetic north, whereas Tuesday's main topic of discussion was Domus Aurea, which i hadn't hear of
4) no Scotland match for me as gbf took me to Grease (Pitlochry festival) as belated birthday present. Good fun (though he did wish me a happy 63rd, I'm 62 😱)
5) fire rumbles on at local recycling centre - the smoke reminds me how grateful I am for the clean air act and indeed the fire serviceMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Evening all
I’m in bed as we’re off to Lesvos again tomorrow and taxi is at 3 a.m. 😧. Will be worth it when we get there 🏖️
Busy week as we had an offer accepted on a bungalow at the coast last weekend. Masses of forms to fill in and a visit to the solicitor. Our sellers have not found anything they want to offer on yet and our buyers want to move in ASAP, but it was the bungalow we really liked so 🤞 everything will work out.
Have a good rest of the weekend everyone and I expect I’ll be posting a few photos from Lesvos 😊

Great news PaulieH enjoy your time away.
For yesterday,
Popped C dog in the car and early morning walk along the back of the studs followed by breakfast at the farm shop, Mum saved some of her Snorker so we all had some.
Over to the yard and a field visit to my equine pal, beautiful day and it was lovely out In the paddocks. I had taken her treat ball out with me so we played with that for a bit then she went back to grazing while I cloud watched.
Home, quick change and off to see my friend in cathedral city. We had a cuppa and a good catch up at the Almonry cafe, we sat outside so had a good view of the ‘ Ship of the Fens ‘. Hadn’t seen my friend all year so plenty to chat about ☺️Tried watching the England game but it was pretty boring so switched to the cricket instead.
Few games of Yahtzee and then bed. A lovely day.7 -
Morning all
How exciting, Paulie, really thrilled for you. Enjoy your holiday.
Some pleasures:
1) Lovely moon in a clear sky again.
2) Enjoying some cosy autumn evenings.
3) Went to our local show yesterday. Enjoyed marvelling at all the competition entries, brass band playing, all the usual. Very well attended and lovely to see everyone milling around enjoying the sunshine.
4) Another lovely day forecast so risking a picnic and a band concert. The brass band concerts have finished for the season, I think today a jazz band followed by a stroll around the wonderful gardens.
5) Had big cuddles with the baby, she is now sitting up by herself, rolling over and trying very hard to crawl. A ball of activity but still baby enough to like snuggles. Handed her back when it was feed and nappy changing time!
Sun is breaking through so looks like we will get the good weather we are forecast, best crack on and get the picnic bag sorted. Have a good day, hope ytou see the sunshine too.7 -
Relax, it’s time for the good bits from your version of the Life of BoP!
Rang big sis up, and she told me she was inn the bedroom. Good job we have FaceTime!

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had lunch with my friend and sat at the same table, under an awning, for 5 hours!
3) Watched torrential rain and lightning from our awning.
4) Stopped at Tesco on the way home.
5) Tidied up a bit.
6) Suddenly, everyone in the world sent me a message!
7) Watching Bake Off now.

footie was indeed very dull @LaineyT - I switched over to the rugby
1) lovely music at church to celebrate climate Sunday (and very good sermon)
2) after, some of us went for very nice walk led by the lead of our eco group - what we lacked in numbers (due I suspect to the rain) we made up for in enthusiasm
3) I combined it with a litter pick - another 18 items which takes me up to 1313 this year - am aiming at 2025
4) went for very nice walk along by the river with only dog (sadly too cloudy to see the moon eclipse)
5) munching my way through the complete yes minister / yes prime minister on audible - it's as relevant today as it was thenMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
