5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

We are still waiting on cutting our grass Mhags as, with all this hot / dry weather, it currently resembles a straw field!
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in and then a leisurely breakfast.
Capt S had more hedge cutting to do so I changed the bed, made a loaf, collected up the windfalls for the yard and generally pottered. Our tomatoes are still going great guns so roasted some to make pasta sauce for the freezer.
Spent the afternoon at the yard with my girlie, as always on a Saturday it was busy so lots of chats with other owners as well.
Treat of a payday Chinese takeaway so no cooking!
Last late night wander around the garden with C dog and heard the owl again.6 -
Now then yous lot!
It’s your short round up of your version of the ‘Life of BoP!’
Wents outs in Fryday nite withe BoPsie, she had her glad rags on. Stake and wobbleades were taken! No done much this weakened as it’s feet up and careless I thinks.Chloe our lodge cat has been trying to pull the birds. She’s hopeless! She loves her treat sticks from her dad!
PM2DD. Amorim is getting his P45 on Thursday! Wes all set up ready. Crab on toast has bin ordered.Buzby sends his charmsMoor later, though I thinks I can be in … on Wednesday nite!
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!6 -
Evening!Just about to go and water garden. Says rains coming but at the moment it’s a beautiful evening so I’ll water anyway!Yesterday was up early and got all my chores done and headed to CP. Had a couple of lovely walks. And a nice swim and early to bed.Alarm set to be up for sunrise this morning and we had the most lovely, gentle saunter. Beautiful sunrise.Swim …was in the pool for 2 hours! Chatting and swimming!Home around 1pm.Posted off Vinted parcels and bought bacon and rolls and had that for lunch which was nice until I dripped a bit of melted butter on my top! Grr!Quick change and off out for massage which I didn’t know was today! ( got a text asking if I could change the time)
So that was ouch ouchy and very warm! And home! Had a work call for another service so called the family to make arrangements. It’s becoming a busy week.Chat to sister.Stovies and veg for tea.Niece called for quick chat. And I, going to go and water garden then grab a book and have an early night.6 -
Ah Bank Holiday weekends. Strange opportunities.mhagster - anniversary and hospital appointment, ulp! Care of DD2 and pup! No wifi signal - bliss (at times)! "Stovies and veg for tea" the classic!LaineyT - definite Mutley Medal for impromptu chores. Aw, haynet. Cake coffee & continues catchup - excellent! Hurrah hm hg tomato for pasta sauce!ampersand - drat tyres but sewing on buttons ready for warmth. That's what the slippers look like - Ah!Frith - yowch sinusitis but woohoo fitting your own air filter! Misread you'd ordered a hornet from Sainburys.Highdays - the right cup is a special pleasure! A lazy day - you've worked for it!PaulieHerts - the weekend that turned into a week - and well done on the house!BoP - "Stake and wobbleades" that's the stuff.OS Pleasures recently“Stew is being stewed.” I am hugely fortunate & not minded to ask why it is not being rendered en croute or otherwise.Bumped back into psalm 23 & it’s still easier to read aloud in a Welsh accent. It’s also solid comfort in a sticky moment.Working with a client & a colleague & really feeling that two are working in not-their-mother-tongue, and I could have prepared for this meeting better. Pleasure is realising this & planning to do better with all our new colleagues.Pondering the difference between ballerina flats & jellies & thinking it’s 50/50 material/wearer. Also that context is vital. (I wore pink ballerina flats to the scout waterfight a few years ago & was overjoyed when one delaminated & I could legitimately bin them.)I hazily recalled something like “stookatch” as a Russian word & was startled to find it apparently means “snitch”. Not a word my father would have used, nor girls school vocabulary (I really didn’t think my o level choices through) so am left pondering the Hunt for Red October.Ah, things you really cannot say to a colleague to whom you have not been introduced “I love the shape of your skull”. Large area buzz cut so you can see exactly how the bones sit on the neck & all framed by the curve of the T shirt.I take mum out in the car & every time, she wants to take her handbag & purse & blue badge. I gently take the blue badge & put the rest back safe. This last trip? Forgot to hand back the blue badge. Now, packing the things to go south bag, there’s a winebox & sweeties & some other things to make her smile, but I can’t find the blue badge. I’ve just tossed the car hunting & come back in blank. Now Youngest has taken the key & a torch. Thankful it’s not just me fretting solo, abashed this surely isn’t good parenting to drag him into my stress but just so glad if another pair of eyes. He found it! Not in the car?! Now in bag of goodies! The embroidery is complete. All I have to do is stitch it onto the cushion cover. Why did I think this was going to be a good idea, let alone relatively easy?! It’s confined & fiddly. But it will show off the embroidery & give mum a handsome cushion cover. [Eventually.]The mad declutterer (than young man with the plan & absolutely no sympathy tolerance or willingness to slow down - excellent engineer) is heaving his little brother’s thought-to-be-mothed clothing into binbags for the tip. This will clear both floor area & a chest of drawers but leaves little brother & I feeling both somewhat bruised & relieved.Rewatching the QI of US vs UK & much enjoying watching David Mitchell verge on the edge of postal over the takeover of Dairy Milk by Kraft. Chortled over Sandi developing an understanding of why chairing the UN might be tricky.Rosebay willowherb is trying to seed. (I am trying to uproot it.) Middleson is doing something to the back step. Youngest is doing the washing up. (I’m not counting blessings here, just checking where folks are.) Then I totter in back aching, and a hug & a brew appear & I am just so lucky.Ah, Bruce Springsteen "Back in your arms" a decade ago in Adelaide. Seems to be rarely played live, but it's not like there's a shortage of choice!Bank Holiday religious observances - I have gardened! (Taken cuttings & am now imploring any deity listening to help them survive my ministrations in the coming weeks & months.) Plus, thanks to a fundamental misunderstanding at an early hour, got several loads of laundry onto & off the line, so have a fresh made bed and all my linens washed & line dried.Health strength love & courage to all as have need along with an extra layer for the changeable weather forecast.7

Ach, the pressure of following a DIG post!
For the last couple of days,
Early morning walks and a rising sun.
Its been a month since C dog arrived and her personality is really starting to shine, we are blessed.
A Sunday afternoon barbecue at a pal’s house, people we knew and interesting people we didn’t, good mix.
For once a hot, sunny august bank holiday, we got up early and made use of our NT membership by visiting a nearby stately home and walking their grounds. We chose the woodland walk and it’s cool path was thoroughly enjoyed by both humans and dog.
Home and straight out to see the beautiful grey one, topped up her hay cube and filled a treat ball to keep her occupied in a sparse field, let’s hope the forecasted rain for later in the week is right!
Lazy afternoon reading our books.
Watering pots and dead heading cosmos.
Uni Challenge followed by a few old Big Bang Theories.7 -

Good afternoon. Sunny again!
Only one pleasure from me but it's a huge one. DGD is home ! Her huge op went well and she has made a good recovery. Whilst still in hospital she got her GCSE results and they were excellent. She really is a star 🌟
I'm afraid while she was going through this I was in ticking- over mode, keeping us fed and in clean clothes with just enough cleaning to avoid the kitchen becoming a health hazard. No excuses now and I've already done more this morning than the last 10 days put together. And my back knows about it!
Onward and upward
Happy 🌞 day everyone7 -
