Morning guys
yay to another weekend day :j Today we are going to visit ds and his gf's family for an easter egg hunt and I think a BBQ (but it might be a roast...) So nice to spend time with him :A Am taking vegan foods with me
Afterwards I think we are calling in at the outlaws for a cup of tea and a slice of cake
Thankfully easter has come and I no longer need to eat my body weight in eggs & then have to replace the ones I've eaten, just to eat them again
Now just have to resist eating madam's until they're gone!
Things to do today:
* do an hour of my master's application - it has to be in at the end of the month!
* go to the lottie for an hour. I'll leave it for an hour and let oh have a semi lay in!
* need to make a bean salad & wild rice salad & also a sesame dressing to take to the meal (made a big batch of tabuleh yesterday)
* put away yesterday's washing
* can I get away without spending anything? we'll see....
Oh lordy that is all I can think of at the moment! Sure they'll be more
Hope you all have a blessed day xDF as at 30/12/16

1LuckyLady sounds to me like a perfect day. My family would have happily joined in with everything, books, Lego, ikea for food as well as the choice of things you watched.
FatVonD me and my sister used to do the same when the eldest 3 were younger. Now they are all too old but they enjoy a hot chocolate and reading a book whilst the younger 2 play. When both of mine were the right ages to be able to be left in the play place. If we had been to a morning workshop in the local city we pass!ikea!on our way home we would often stop for them to play and I could have a free coffee and either relax with my book or catch up with my emails without interruption. Occasionally we would also have an early dinner before coming home.
Quick update on sister and family. Yesterday evening they went to our parents for a couple of days. Before the fire they had arranged to spend Easter visiting them. As they can't move things further forward until the meetings on Tuesday they decided to stick to the plan as much as they could. This gives us time to arrange the house so it is easier for all of us. One of the major things to do is put our old table in the kitchen as it is large enough to seat 8 adults and swap it for the kitchen table which is a small 6 seater. We can't do this until the hall and dinning room are clearer, both are currently over running with donations. My house currently resembles one of those puzzles where you have a gap and slide the pieces around to make the picture. This should be slightly easier to sort out with fewer people around. When they come back they are house sitting for a friend for a few days. They plan on using this as their base as the children will be here during the day whilst their parents are in meetings and here is also in walking distance of their house.
Well I've been awake since 2.45 am. Spent the first few hours tossing and turning desperate to get back to sleep. I was also keeping OH awake. I got up about 5 to see if a small glass of milk would help, whilst downstairs I had a walk round the garden, checked the washing on the line - nearly dry, emptied the WM, put it on again (4th load in less than 12 hours!!). When I came back up OH was sleeping
and I've been reading
Today as well as collecting donations, we plan to spend time together as a family, not sure what we will be doing, but we will be enjoying chocolaty treats
also we will be tidy, moving furniture, continuing the mission to conquer the washing mountain, 9 people it builds up in a blink of an eye, if the grass could cut its self that would be useful. OH was supposed to be working on dd's bike this weekend. I also need to think of meals that take very little prep that we all eat, plus all the usual things. At least it will be a NSD.

Morning all :hello: I'm enjoying a quiet house wth only me up so I thought I'd have a cuppa and catch up on here. It's bliss :A
I've recipeive day utility bill this morning so updated my sheet. Please to say that despite having the heating on a couple of days early in the month our overall bill is the 3rd lowest it's been in the last 15 months :T particularly electric which we seem to struggle to keep down :T
Today we have family round and we're cooking, so once everyone is up I'll make a start on prepping so when they're here we can enjoy time with them. Need to dig out my bread plait recipe thing go the old syyle board that I'll do for pudding and get the dough going in the bread maker.
DH popped to shop yesterday afternoon and bought back half a dozen ys items that were significantly reduced (I guess as they are closed today they wanted to get rid) I'll have to remember that next year as decent ys items are rare here but if I could buy at those rates regularly it was make a huge difference to our food bill
I'll also:
Make extra yorkshire pud and freeze
Slice rest of huge joint and portion for future roast dinners
Make sweet bread plait and find something to put inside, may have some mince meat lurking at the back of the fridge
Egg hunt for smalls, using all Easter 'things' that we had a few years ago that I stash away each year for them to use save buying new
Some sort of exercise for free
Plan what we are doing tomorrow- maybe day out with our passes, but think the weather might be rubbish
Check meal plan for week
Make more hummus and freeze and freeze rest of chickpeas
Enjoy your days folks. Purps.0 -
Baileys Babe, it's you that deserves the medal, you are the one doing it all, were only reading about it!
I have my mum coming round for lunch today, I need to work out when to put everything in/on as I need to go to collect her while its cooking. We're having the leg of lamb I bought last week. I peeled the potatoes and carrots last night and I have sausages defrosting ready for making stuffing and ready made cauliflower cheese in the fridge. Pudding will be YS strawberries which I washed and sliced last night with extra thick cream.
The bathroom needs a quick clean but it's a quarter of the size of my last one so takes no time at all. There is a stack of clean washing in my bedroom waiting to be put away but that can wait.
Tonight we are going to bingo before I drop my mum back.
I've had eggs for the teens for a while and haven't eaten them! (DNMS, so many times in the past I have bought eggs while they are on offer, eaten and replaced on repeat and then found myself having to buy full price expensive ones at the last minute!) I have got my mum a small bunch of flowers.

I actually managed to have a lie in this morning till 7am. Was really tired when I got in last night.
Well the Easter bunny came for DD with supplies ready for university, she is just working out where to store said items now. She got stuck straight into her Easter chocolate.
Me and DD have been terrible this year tucking into Easter eggs and having to replace them,
Just cooking the chicken ready to take over to my mum's in abit for Sunday lunch......the Cats are already sharking around.
I've reserved a few bits in Argos that have fantastic reductions on them, brilliant for a last couple of childrens birthday presents this year and I have vouchers from the RM surveys to cover the cost.just trying to work out whether Arg@s is open today and whether I can actually be bothered to go if they are, but they are brilliant presents for peanuts.
Nothing else much planned except for an early night to elevate leg tonight which is looking decidedly swollen
Have a great Easter everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all (just about) :coffee:
I'm pleased to report that I feel just about back to normal. I managed to eat last night and am feeling better for it. I still don't feel like doing much but that's fine because we've not got too much planned.
BB - I agree with FvD - I think you deserve a medal for managing everything that's going on at the moment. Mind you FvD - I get worn out just reading your posts. I wish I could enjoy stuff like gardening and decorating, but I just don't. I do things like that out of necessity rather than want.
I was up at 5am this morning but have had another couple of hours on the sofa since then. Kids have their Easter eggs (fewer this year, but not because I was eating them - they got new clothes instead). DS is most disgruntled that he has fewer eggs than his friend, but tough! I've made a good start on the washing, done the dishes and prepped the Sunday lunch (although I don't suspect we're all going to sit down as a family).
DH isn't well again at the moment, still in bed but I'm just leaving him to it. I want to get him back to the doctors but I think that is going to be a longer term effort.
Other than the usual my plans for today are to do some more sitting on my bum and catch up on crochet. If dh doesn't get up I might even treat myself to watching the grand prix on the big telly downstairs. But I just want to relax.
Happy Easter all :EasterBun:easter_osNot giving up

Afternoon all,
Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend with family which hopefully is relaxing.
HK - please share those bargain Argos buys you found. Always looking for good bargains
BB - Your strength is amazing! I'm not sure I'd be so calm in all of those circumstances. Hope you manage to get some relax time in somewhere.
I'm have a bit of a non-productive morning so far. I was planning on doing a workout today to balance out all the calorie consumption later on but I hurt my back from yesterday's workout so have a hot water bottle on it today and hope to be back in action tomorrow.
Also, popped to Costco in the hope to return some Ziplock bags I bought in the wrong size but they were closed so a U-turn home
However, I've managed to plan my weekly meal plan and make an online shopping order with Sainsbury's. I had a £10 off voucher which is why I decided to place the order.
Currently on Swagbucks trying to get my points up... any tips?
I still need to:
- Tackle the mountain of ironing and get the kids school uniform ready
- Prep the potatoes for later
Taking it easy today because of the back
Have a good Eater! :j0
