    Hi everyone

Woop woop to the bank holiday!! :D :j :T I'm looking forward to a weekend away with the family for mum's 70th birthday. V mse too as dad has insisted on paying. :D

DNMS - I'm v excited for you on the new patio!! Can't wait to see it finished.

    Here's me for small thingalings:
    - Washing drying on airer
    - Use MOC, saving around £13.
    - Fill up car before we go rather than motorway services
    - Check banking/YNAB
    - Used paper from stash to wrap up mum's bday pressie  - I bought paper suitable for kids and big kids when I needed to wrap my niece's pressie y'see - didn't think mum would appreciate paw patrol :rotfl:
    - Baking a cake rather than buying = fun times with the kids #coolaunty :D

I really need to go and write my shopping/packing list - I'll spare you the ins and outs!

    Have a good day everyone!

I have not slept well all week, but I have been awake since before this time  I would have happily got up and got things done but I didn't want to disturb any one.

Yesterday didn't go to plan. There was a major fire at my sister's house, which is looking like it has gutted the house. Thankfully no one was hurt.
Yesterday evening I took her children to the nearest supermarket to get them all things to sleep in, underwear, shoes for boys (sister, BIL & neice we out of the house so were wearing shoes) as well as clothes for the next few days. Whilst there I also picked up something quick to cook us all for dinner. Not exactly money saving but at the moment I don't care, all my family are safe.
Fortunately we have enough beds for them to stay here, I am hoping they will for the next few days at least.

We live in an area which is classed as deprived. I have been amazed at how generous a community we live in, people have been donating clothes and one person popped round to give them a gift card for £50.

  • ha ha I was just thinking "yay to the bhs!" La E :) I know it's sooooooo exciting! Think it'll be done in another day :j (which due to the pesky bhs :p) will no doubt be spread over a few days. We can't wait. Due to finances the garden has been done in sections over several years (a section a year!) and I really think this will put it all together now

up early, as per. Just faffing around doing not a lot at the moment. Should pull myself into gear and tidy the kitchen and get ready to go to the allotment :j This weekend I will be planting potatoes, and planting mini sweetcorn and calabrese :money: Think I will also sow sweetcorn & squashes :D water any seedlings needing it. While up the allotment I'm going to pick a load of stinging nettles to make fertiliser ;)

Madam has asked for us to go swimming so we can use our membership and go for "free" :money:

need to check meal plan and get something out of the freezer

hang out washing from yesterday :o

Not sure what else we'll get up to today - love the extended family time over this weekend

Today I am not sure what I am going to do. I need to talk to OH, sister and BIL about plans for today and the weekend. We also need to work out what is happening in the longer term but that probably needs to wait until they have talked to the insurance company.

Dd has been invited to a birthday party today, I should be taking her but if I am needed here my friend, whose children are going has offered, but that is over an hour out of her way. Dd was planning on making a birthday card yesterday but that never happened, I have a suitable bought card she can take instead.

    Today:
    Make bread
    Dry washing on the line
    FPL, Ashleigh etc
Wash hair and let it dry naturally

Hopefully I will add more before the end of the day.

BB sorry to hear what has happened to your sister and family. I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. I'm just glad that everyone is okay, and it's amazing how a community will pull together in times of crisis and need.

    LaE enjoy your weekend away.

Apart from going to a sports session tomorrow evening and my mum's for Easter Sunday it's a quiet bank holiday, which is good for DD for her revising.
She has offered to come with me later on to get some cat supplies in.
Will probably run the hoover over and mop the kitchen floor.
Might do some paperwork if I feel motivated, but other than that it's a going to be a hopefully relaxing bank holiday
Have a great day everyone x

BB - that is awful :( Sorry to hear of the fire but thankful that everyone is well. This will be a trying time for you all but luckily you have each other. Do they know what caused the fire yet?

Today's going to hopefully be a nice quiet one for me. I'll be

    - Trying to drag the Twin teens out of bed a little earlier today (wait for the moaning)
    - Using up the sorry looking mushrooms at the bottom of fridge
    - Giving the house a good hoover and mop the floors
    - Try and get a workout in later today
    - Need to get 1 or 2 small items from the corner shop
    - Will do surveys and swag bucks later
    - Back to no booze until next weekend - want to get back into being healthy again :rotfl:

    Enjoy your day everyone :T

Baileys Babe, thank heavens they are all safe and that they have you to help them, sometimes in times of crisis you just need someone to take over and do all the practical stuff.

DNMS, I read your 'yay to bhs' and wondered what Philip Green had to do with laying your patio :o

Totally loving having a long weekend, my little lists for today:

    More washing up Mostly done
More clothes washing Two loads down, two to go
    Ziffit parcel to drop off
Old towels to drop at animal rescue if they want them
Drop a few bits to CS
Paint bit of wall that was inaccessible due to plant growth last year (I already have the paint.)
Take out small metal Buddha to use as doorstop for back door. Done
Defrost some rolls to put fish cakes in for lunch for the teens They bought their own lunch
Rearrange furniture in sitting roomDone, I've decided I'm going to sell the sofa and buy another love seat with the money
Chase buyer to collect table they have already paid for
Bring crate back in to use as side table
YS stuffed mushrooms for lunch for me Done
Plant stuffs bought last week Done
Sweep and tidy back garden and hope its nice enough to eat outside on Sunday Done, only found two caterpillars and didn't freak out
Buy long wood and masonry nails to attempt to put up trellis myself, I'm toying with the idea of buying a drill or I could ask my mum to bring hers on Sunday.
YS hunters chicken for dinner for the teens, I'm still craving fruit all the time which is not a bad thing as I seem to be losing weight (I don't own scales, they are just dust magnets, so I just have to go by which clothes fit!)

    I think that's it!

    Hello all,

I have been away for a few days, we had a great time in airbnb place, self catering.

    - Took kidiwinks out frustratingly I managed to leave my DD disability paper work at home so had to pay the full rate, whilst it is only £7 ish it irks me, when I could have saved a few pennies.
    - Self catered whilst away, had lunches out as a treat.
    - Today went out and took a picnic, although had pre booked an Easter egg trail.
    - Small internet shop to cover the weekend.
    - Heating is no off
    - Washing on the line drying

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I have not had an update yet today, sister and BIL went out just after breakfast and will be back at some point, for dinner and bed. Mean while I have been fielding calls, texts etc as well as collecting donations mainly locally. As well as the host from the party, a mutual friend and a friend of a friend. Today someone dropped off a weeks shopping as well as sweets and Easter eggs for all the children :)
Just sitting down for a quick coffee and catching up with you guys.
