BB - so sorry to hear the news about your sister and her family, but thank goodness that they are all ok. And how lovely of the community to come through for them like that as well.
We're just back from our holidays in Scotland. I love it up there - it's so peaceful and beautiful... and it was lovely to spend some time with the family, even if the kids constant bickering and fighting did get to me very early on. DH also had a bit of a relapse mentally so I'm not sure that he enjoyed himself as much as he would have done if he'd been better. I wish I could report being really mse but I can't. We were self catering so cheaper than eating out all the time, but we did eat out. I couldn't not drink gallons of Irn Bru and I found a shop that sold tablet ice cream and it would have been rude not to have tried that. We did lots of walking and enjoying what we had so it could have been a lot worse but I would be lying if I said that I'd been very thrifty
Not much else to report though - we got home mid afternoon and I'm not very well. I've been in bed and napped for a couple of hours and still not feeling great - but just grateful that I'm getting ill at the end of the holiday rather than the beginning and missing out while we were away. I've unpacked, the first load of washing is on, hoovered through and spent much of the rest of the time cuddling the cats - missed them way more than I thought I would. Normal service shall resume tomorrow. Not giving up

Baileys babe thinking of your family. How lucky they are to have you on hand though.
Today has been pretty none stop! I have:
Made a picnic and taken it to local NT property.
Did do Easter egg hunt but relatively small spend. Didn't have a hot drink out. Took HM malt load and drinks with picnic.
Got 8  boxes of clothes out of loaf and sorted them out. 4 stayed down to label for next weeks sale. Rest went back up. Kept shoes down as my youngest's feet are growing quicker than oldest and if I leave them with the clothes they'll be too small by the time they come down and I'll be tempted to buy some
2 bags of clothes made it to garage for charity shop
Sorted fleabay pile. Got a few things for my friend whose recently had a baby that I'd not got round to listing.
Quick tidy through downstairs
Pork stew in sc
Girls had naan bread pizza
Small shop to cover us for the next few days, I can reassess meal plan on Monday. Got loads of random ys things like grapes with 2 days left on them. White school polos reduced to £2.20 and then 25% off for 3
DH bought a mixed box of 'surprise' beer for £3
think there were 4 bottles and about 8 cans :T
Made no cook chocolate brownie granola :A
Shame about the rain that's been with us since this afternoon. Hope tomorrow is better.0 -
Thank you guys for just being here letting me know about your daily lives.
More generous donations have arrived through out the day. Plenty of toys for the youngest.
Dinner tonight was takeaway, delicious but we need to get organised as we can cook and enjoy home cooked food. As well as saving us a fortune.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning guys - boo it's rainy here today so that puts paid to my allotment plans, at least the plants there will get some water! Took oh there yesterday to see how much I have done

Today madam has football and then meeting up with dd (oh is going today as dd isn't that great and when she's like this she can be a bit attacking of me so best for everyone they go without me). I'll potter around in the greenhouse while they are gone. I think I'll make some wraps as well
We are looking after a small dog today - a dog mil looks after but has double booked. Madam adores this dog and is super excited! So will no doubt go for a woodland walk this afternoon
Think I'll pick some rocket and kale from the garden to eat today
just been messaging my ds' gf and she told me ds has booked his driving test
feeling a bit emotional! So glad my ds' life is going so well now
ok nothing to write home about! Have a lovely day everyone xDF as at 30/12/16

Busy afternoon ahead......and all I want to do is nothing!!!!!
My daughter has her driving lesson and then straight on to a sporting event. We won't get home till 10 tonight-for me that's a late one.
Pulled the chicken out of the freezer (I got it for peanuts a couple of months ago when tesc@ were getting rid of stock) ready for tomorrow.
Have already done some washing and dishwasher just finishing.
Popping into town this morning to get a couple of bits done.
House is fairly tidy, but mount ironing Everest has doubled-this needs sorting at some point.
BB fantastic about the donations, it really is nice to hear about the support in such an awful situation.
Have a good day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all :hello:
Busy already here and lots more to do (as ever!) determined not to sit down just yet as I won't want to get up again. I have:
Taken DD swimming (lessons already paid)
Pegged washing out that washed overnight, another load in in 30
Taken meat and bread from freezer for tonight's BBQ
Cheap oats for breakfast
Moved some money around from various pots to the right places
Not gone from breakfast out :A
I'll also:
Sort out some toys so they find their rightful homes and the place look neater
Leftovers /indoor picnic for lunch
Check indoor seedlings, out door ones will be fine with rain from yesterday
An hour in the garden later to tidy up
Throw away flowers from mothers day that have lasted very well
Vacuum upstairs and clean bathroom
Possibly pop and pick up something for DH that I ordered and take something back to same shop for a refund
- if not will do on Monday
Charity bag through door in cupboard for bathroom bin bag
Complete some surveys
Enjoy your long weekend folks, those that are lucky enough not to be working.0 -
Morning! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
BB - how's the family doing today?
PurpleFairy - Really like your idea of using the un-used charity bag for a bin liner! Never thought of that
Been out to Sainsbury's this morning and spent £48...more than I wanted to but didn't have time to run to various other shops...
Today I'll be:
- Definitely getting in a workout as missed way too many days this week. I weighed myself this morning and I've gained a 1.5lbs and I know I need to get myself back into my regular workouts and watch the diet!
- Complete some more surveys
- Lunch from left over dinner last night
- Home made beef burgers tonight so need to prepare the mix that I add to it to make them spicy
- Make my food meal plan for next week and shopping list so I'm well prepared
- Washing now on, will dry outside
- Try and drink 2-3 litres of water today
- Make my Raspberry Breakfast Loaf from Clean Eating Alice Book... it's so delicious I never have it for breakfast but as a treat with a cup of afternoon tea
- Need to buy some cheap and cheerful holiday clothes for DD and myself so will see if anything cheap online or I'll wait and go to Primani or Matalan at some point next week
That's it for now... enjoy everyone
Thanks0 -
Hi everyone
Normal service has not resumed unfortunately - lurgy has gotten a good hold on me.
Today has consisted of a couple of loads of washing, hoovering the house, sleep, water, more sleep, more water and crochet. For the first time in 3 years I've had to cancel my tutoring session this afternoon because I just feel rotten.
So today will be a nsd for sure. I'm on the sofa, probably on my own for the afternoon - dd has gone out and the boys are just off to watch football.
Thinking of you today HK - a 10pm finish would wipe me out at the best of times. Not giving up
