  • I think I've lost my daughter and suddenly have a domestic goddess daughter.

Still not felt 100% today, but started to get things done as I feel more rough when I don't do anything.

Treated to lunch by daughter and then she has been on a mega housework drive since being home........a very rare occasion but making the most of it:D

Banking checked and bills paid first thing.

Stuck to my budget in morris@ns when I went in for cat litter

Hospital in the morning and then need to tackle mount ironing Everest as I'm away this weekend and need things to wear:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a good day x

  • I managed my NSD yesterday - I had to nip to the shops for work but only spent their money, I started feeling a bit woozy so went and claimed my free greggs coke zero. I never would have known about that without this thread!

I logged into TCB and realised I have £132 payable so arranged for that to be paid into my bank account.

Hung some towels out to dry today. Also realised I haven't used our 27year old tumble drier once since joining this board. Its definitely not economical!

Got given £30 cash and put it in the savings jar.

Sat in bed to finish reading my book rather than put the heating on for just me

Tomorrow is a slow cooker tea day and also pay day, my kinda day!!

  • Most of today's list has been ticked off, a few things I've started and will be finished tomorrow. But somehow I forgot to make my porridge, so not sure what to have for breakfast, possibly pancakes to finish off the batter that's not up to our usual standard.

Local news company just contacted us and want to feature one of DW's photos from yesterday a picture of a mural on the side of a house; bizarrely enough we didn't rate it as a show-stopper. Hoping for a few pennies from it though!

And received £5 more in survey vouchers.

I had a massive nosebleed again this morning which delayed me leaving which meant my train ticket was then off peak and thus cheaper, every cloud ;)

I managed not to spend anything else until this evening when I bought pre prepared peri peri chicken breasts as I didn't feel like doing anything more than shoving stuff in the oven. We already had coleslaw, chips and onion rings so that was the only expense.

There was nothing other than sandwiches in the YS treasure trove so I didn't bother to stick around.

I'm going out for a quick drink after work tomorrow with just the folks I work with so that I can just slip out quietly on Friday. I will treat myself to a burger on the train on the way home and I have taken chicken breasts out of the freezer to defrost ready to put on a slow cooker curry for the teens before I leave in the morning.

The air freshener has run out so I've been using a can of hair glossing spray that's been gathering dust, the house now smells like a hairdressers :rotfl: Next up is a bottle of re released 1970s 'Babe' perfume that I got in a sale for nostalgia's sake so then it will smell like a brothel

That is a very slim silver lining!

Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.
  • Morning! It blew an absolute gale here last night - I don't normally get woken by the weather at all but I woke up a few times last night, and was awake from 4am listening to it.

    Lots of little things today...

    1. Batch cook macaroni cheese (the chilli I batch cooked yesterday was more or less inedible for the children due to spice overload, so will use it for DH's lunches, but now need to make something else rather pressingly).
    2. Social media while working.
    3. Prepare plenty of snacks and a packed lunch for tomorrow (will have access to a fridge overnight - I have loads of cooked brown rice and lentils leftover from dinner yesterday, so maybe I'll roast some veg to go with it?) so I don't have to spend anything with all my train journeys tomorrow. Must also take thermos and water bottle to fill up with tea/water tomorrow morning (I am staying with a friend, not in a hotel).
    4. Continue Operation Tidy The Dining Room.
    5. Having processed the stupid online order yesterday, today I need to drop it off at the local Hermes pick up place.
    6. Start preparing work invoices for the end of the month if I get time, as I might not get another chance before Tuesday and I want them ready to go on the 1st!
    7. Note insurance renewal dates on the calendar. Have already done this and it's only 6am. HOW organised am I?!
    8. NSD (this will be impressive if I manage it - I have a train journey to go on which I already have tickets for, but the temptation to buy and eat tea and snacks on the journey will be BIG).
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

  • Morning all :hello: :coffee:
Too busy to get on yesterday so today's plans include basically not leaving the house other than to go to bestie's later on. It's day 4 of the hols and I haven't had a quiet day as yet so my plans are to get some more sleep and crochet, catch up with my friend and not a lot else - although my marking is still sitting waiting for me...
Hope everyone is ok - I'm off to catch up
