I have a check up at the dentist later. Then I will spend some time wrapping presents.

Still no news on the house 🙁

Dentist cost £23.80 yesterday. Today I am going to mr T to get last few bits for DS & gf “stocking” and hopefully some half price lamb for NY day.

Tomorrow is pamper day at friends house so will get a cheap bottle of something nice & some nibbles. Plus £20 for neck & facial massage. Sunday is brunch day £30 includes food and drinks. Just need taxi money. I also need £10 cash for nephew xmas gift.

I am going to make a stew in the slow cooker before I set off to the shops. Just going to walk the dog.

Left in the bank £229.89. Also need petrol for trip up north for xmas & back again the week after

Spoke to my solicitor and the sellers solicitor has said there is no way they can physically exchange or complete before Christmas. No reason given. 🙁

I have told my solicitor to leave it until the new year. I will look at another house over Christmas while I am up there, on the market for less & consider my options if they will not complete by the end of January.

    Total spend in Mr T £115.55 minus clubcard discount £45.64 = £69.91

That included a leg of lamb & joint of beef both half price & now in the freezer for new year.
Bin liners £2. Stocking fillers for DS & gf including toiletries, Christmas socks, chocolates. Also Pepsi max 24 cans down from £9.50 to £7 and 4 cans alcohol free cider.

I got DS’s gf a self tan gift set and when I got home and had a proper look at it there was one item missing from the box! So back to Mr t to exchange it for a complete one. Petrol light then came on so I put £20 in the car. I have at least one day in the office next week.

    Feeling very fed up

I would imagine the sellers would find it too much hassle to move before Xmas, but they could have at least explained that!
Hopefully it will be early in the New Year, so in the meantime try and enjoy the holidays.  (((hugs))) XX

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Thanks @Chrystal it would have been understandable if they hadn’t been dragging things out. It took their solicitor 3 weeks to send the gas certificate after they had received it. The sellers don’t live in the property. They said from the beginning that they wanted to complete as soon as possible and there was no reason to delay. So they are giving mixed messages. I just hope they will complete by the end of January. I don’t feel safe handing in my notice at work until we have exchanged. I had been hoping to be handing in my notice before the end of the year. Now I don’t know if / when that will happen and I will have to struggle on at work. 🙁

Todays plans are to walk the dog, wash a few items and dry on radiators and go to my friends house for pamper day.

  • If it's a probate property perhaps they wanted one last Christmas, or it's just too close to Christmas now for them. Shame they wouldn't exchange now and complete in January.

Try and put it to the back of your mind and continue to keep options open.

    Enjoy pamper day!

  • Not a probate property just some of their belongings in boxes. Trying not to worry.

I have renewed my car insurance Reduced from £218.60 to £205.91.

It’s absolutely freezing cold today 🥶 walked the dog earlier with thermals etc. Heating is on. Waiting for the house to warm up so I can have a shower and hair wash

  • Very cold again this morning. I will walk the dog once it gets light. Then I am off to bottomless brunch with the girls 12-2pm.

Yesterday’s pamper day was lovely. Half hour neck and back massage £22. Bottle of wine & nibbles £10.50. Lots of chat and laughter was priceless 😁

  • Sounds wonderful!

Hope you've managed to rest today.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Sunday’s brunch was v expensive with a very small main course & unlimited cocktails during a 2 hour slot. Total spend £36.95 but was nice to see my friends. Did have about 6 drinks. Then got a lift home and slept the rest of the day!

In the office yesterday and managed to put my back out while bending to get a bottle of pop from the vending machine 😩 Am taking pain meds and trying to take things easy. I haven’t slept very well and I am going to wfh today and tomorrow. Hopefully I can then cope with the 5 hour drive.

Hope everyone has a merry Christmas 🎄
