You are so fit to take puppy out well done on having a yum breakfast. Well done on doing Christmas cards so early.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • I only managed to write some of the cards. I already have stamps so will post them today and write the rest this evening. There are 4 post office strike days this month so I am hoping if I post them early they will arrive before Christmas.

It’s grey and cold here again. Walked the dog & now going to get ready to see my solicitor.

Yesterday I walked into town with my no-dog friend and bought myself a pair of boots £24.99.

After I see the solicitor I am going to get some bottles of Buck’s Fizz and 2 more Christmas cards. One for friends and a nice one for my niece. Then I will write the rest & post them either this evening or tomorrow.

Can you wrap a scarf round part of your face to keep the wind chill off.

Good luck at the sols, hope you've a bottle of fizz for when the purchase goes through 😊

  • Wore my new fur lined boots today. Toes were nice and warm and I could even get some welly socks on top of my normal socks if I wanted to.

Saw the solicitor then went to bank and did a chaps transfer. While I was in the bank I had a call from the estate agent asking if I was interested in any of the white goods as sellers don’t have space. I am waiting for them to get back to me with more info and if they want money. Also my solicitor still waiting for reply from their solicitor. They have had gas safe cert according to EA.

Called off on the way home and put petrol in the car. Posted the xmas cards I have written so far.

  • Not as cold this morning and a bit of sunlight is starting to break through.  After today the temperature is due to drop 🥶 Thermals are at the ready!

Today I am meeting a friend for lunch. We are going to a new garden centre she has recommended so I will wrap up as they are not normally warm places

  • White goods sound like a potential opportunity to get you up and running for a while, subject to prices.

Hope your day was fun 😊

  • Had a lovely lunch yesterday and my friend insisted on paying. It was lovely catching up with her.

The EA confirmed the white goods are in full working order and free. So that will be an unexpected bonus. They have also chased up the sellers solicitor so hopefully we will get the final replies soon.

I have fed the dog and am back in bed with a cup of tea. I will walk her later when it is light. Today I will take my final Christmas cards to the post office. After lunch the dog has one of her regular visits to the vet which will be covered by the plan that DS pays for. Otherwise I am resting.

    Great news about the goods.
Hope PDs visit went ok and you're rested.

  • I posted the final few close family Christmas cards yesterday in the post office. There was no queue at 10am. Total spend £3.80 for 1st class. Hopefully they will arrive before the strikes start on the 9th.

The dog enjoyed her visit to PaH. Not so much her visit to the vet but she is more comfortable now.

Today I am having my hair cut. I’ve decided to go shorter so it’s quicker to dry. Now the weather is colder I can wear my wooly hat for dog walking. I am hoping to get into the loft this afternoon and get some Christmas decs down.

  • Very cold morning and the grass was crispy with frost. Took the dog for a walk, de-iced the car and drove DS to work. Then went to the hairdresser who I have known for years and had a cut & blow dry £28 and a hug as I may not see her for a while if the move to the country happens.

Called into tesco on the way home and got a can of de-icer. Also picked up a bottle of port for my b-in-law for xmas on offer at £8 instead of £12.

Had a snooze this afternoon and dog walk 2 before it got dark. Nothing else planned until next Thursday.
