I have worked out my basic budget as below. If anyone thinks I have missed something please let me know

    council tax £100
(DF lives round the corner same rating and single person discount currently £90)

    Annual bills £100
(MOT £48, car service £190, car insurance £191.84, breakdown cover £61.20, car tax £130, dentist, clothes, house insurance £219. The insurances may change at new address. Eye tests & prescriptions are free due to medical condition. Glasses are bought cheap online).

    TV licence £13.29

    Mobile phone £9.26

    water rates £41
(This is current amount for 3 people in 3 bed house in south. DF has a water meter and pays less than half this. Will look at getting a meter fitted)

    Gas / Electric £130

    Petrol £100
This is more than DF spends so any excess can pay for trips down south

    car maintenance £50
    (repairs/tyres)

    xmas / birthdays £30

    Entertainment £100

    Food £150

    Total £823.55 x 12 = £9882.60

Anything left & any interest earned will go to gas / electric or saved towards holiday back to south coast & house maintenance

  • Finally got a call from my solicitor and we have the final legal answers and paperwork we needed. Just waiting for a date to exchange and complete. Have phoned the EA to chase the sellers to contact their solicitor with a date. Hopefully before Christmas 🤞

  • Your budget is similar to mine, there's nothing obvious missing aside from haircuts, but you've probably accounted for that under another heading.

Fingers crossed for the exchange, that would be a great present to yourself 🍾

  • What a roller coaster of a day. Good news about the house then
bad news, then potentially good news. Will see what happens tomorrow. I have doubled my anti anxiety meds.

Tomorrow I will get the last few xmas presents. My sisters book arrived today. I will also need to collect more meds from the chemist. Thursday is the dentist. Letter arrived for diabetic eye test in January so I changed the date & time for that. If the house purchase goes ahead I will be up to date with all things medical.

Saturday is pamper day at friends house then Sunday is girls Christmas outing for boozy brunch. Hopefully I will be celebrating.

Keeping my fingers crossed that your news is good today.  (((hugs))) XX
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Fingers crossed and I hope things are positive today.

Sounds like a busy one, but will keep you occupied.

  • Good luck with today. Sorry i haven't been on much. I am thinking of you. swxxxx
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Radio silence from buyers solicitor and estate agent 🙁 Phoned my solicitor who confirmed still no emails received. Phoned EA to push for a date & no response. Am beginning to feel I am being messed about.

Went to m&s and got Buck’s Fizz £3 and wine with sloe gin £4. Picked up some chocolate in B &m and a crate of pepsi max £16.19. Then shopping in lidl £26.18. Took my no-dogs no-car friend with me so she could do a big shop & dropped her off home.

Roasted a chicken and some potatoes this afternoon and had some with veg & gravy. Enough leftover for 3 meals to go in the freezer. I also bought mince to make chilli and beef for a stew. I will make them in the slow cooker over the next few days.

You must be so !!!!!! off :(  Hopefully it's just a glitch in the communication line, as in somebody off sick in the Solicitors and the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing)  Keeping my fingers crossed that you hear something tomorrow.  Try and stay calm although I know it's difficult.  ((((hugs))))

  • It's awkward on the run up to Christmas but hopefully the seller will come through, hang on in there.

Shopping and meals are good as usual 😊
