  • Had a long walk with the dog this morning. It was a mild morning, probably the last one for a week according to the forecast.

I made butternut squash soup in the slow cooker and did one load of washing which is finishing on airers. Dishwasher has been emptied and reloaded. Decluttered the top of my chest of drawers so I can now see in the mirror 😆 Pharmacy paper bags into recycling. Socks put away into drawer. Receipts shredded.

The rest of the day has been spent lounging on the sofa watching tv 😆

  • Took the dog out this morning and it was still mild. Took her out tonight after work and it was blinking freezing 🥶

Heating definitely on this evening! Had warm homemade butternut squash soup for lunch and a big blanket round my legs. Made a chicken curry for dinner with an extra portion for the freezer.

I have my new thermals ready for the morning, a Christmas gift from my sister from mat alan, so should be warm & toasty for dog walking in zero temperature. (They are lovely and soft and pretty /glittery  not like old man saggy thermals 😆)

  • Chilly bright morning 🥶 Definitely needed my sparkly thermals on and they are fantastic kept me warm on the frosty field. 😁

Did a bit more decluttering yesterday in my bedroom and put away jumpers and clothes hanging on the wardrobe doors. Still need to empty my bags from visiting family and loads of washing to do.

Just having a hot chocolate. Starting work shortly.

Well done on decluttering and present from sister and walking. Condensation on all my windows. I am waiting for hairdresser. Good luck with your day. Remember to rest a bit.

Can I join the freezing club 🤭
Thermals sound great and it's nice having something a little different.

    Hope your day goes well!

  • Have finished work and walked the dog. Thermals are great 😁 That’s it now I’m resting for the evening.

SW my DF has problems with condensation on his windows so he got a karcher window vac and it sucks off all the water. Not cheap around £40 but there may be one cheaper in the sales if you wanted to get one. Only takes a few minutes to do all his windows.

If we think today was cold it’s meant to be down as low as -7 tomorrow 😱🥶 Even with my new thermals I will likely need the heating on. It’s been on a few times today and tonight. I try to save on useage where possible but cannot sit or work in the cold. Next month I will claim wfh allowance on my tax code for this year so that refund can be paid onto the energy account if needed.

We used £100.24 gas & electric for December. The direct debit is £95 so we used a bit of the credit built up over the warmer months leaving £231.03 credit.

I am on a late shift tomorrow so I start work at lunch time. I am hoping to pay my cheque in at the bank after walking the dog and I need to get an A4 writing pad from Wilco nearby. I was also hoping to get to aldee for a few things. Will see how the weather is. Hopefully the council have gritted the roads. I will be glad when the mornings get lighter. Am truly fed up of getting up in the dark
