No definite plans for today other than walking the dog later & putting a chilli in the slow cooker.

I will put half the mince beef in the slow cooker with onions, tin tomatoes, some cubed & peeled butternut squash & chillli powder. About halfway through cooking I will add courgettes, peppers and half a tin of baked beans / half a tin of kidney beans. The rest of the tin of kidney beans will be washed, bagged & frozen for next time I make a chilli. I will freeze the remaining half of the pack of beef mince until I decide what to make with it.

The forecast is dry & windy later so I am hoping to get some washing done and hung out to dry. Towels are in the machine waiting to be turned on when I get up to walk the dog.

Feeling a bit achy and snuffly today. Have taken a few paracetamol & will do another LF test before deciding whether to go out this evening.

  • Chilli sounds yummy.
Hope it's just an overexcited, passing bug due to not socialising much.

  • LF test negative. Took the dog on the field this morning. Slow cooker chilli for lunch. Must admit very little else done all day. Have been snoozing in front of the tv. Checked online banking and have been paid 🤗

More paracetamol and a quick trip round the pond with the dog. Am wheezing like a 20-a-day smoker 😳 Having a little lie down now & will be staying in tonight. Hope you all have a great evening and Happy New Year to you all 🥳🍾🥂🎊

Happy New Year my lovely, I hope the cold bug gets better. I have a similar thing but it is nearly gone although i am coughing still. I didnt go out for the new year due to cough plus i dont like going out so much now. Your savings etc look brill. I am just saving for the house and any left over is retirement. I just bung it into mortgage account. lol.

  • Thanks SW. I’m not convinced it’s a cold & no cough. More like aching chest infection. I have taken the dog out this morning for a short walk & it is sunny & mild. DS & gf have both been coughing all night. But we are still all testing negative. Puppy dog is now snoring in her chair 😆 She didn’t like the fireworks last night but had a good run around on the field this morning.

Today I will be mostly resting and we will have dinner later this afternoon.

I am waiting for my credit card bill in the next few days so I can move money from various pots to pay it in full, including my car insurance. My breakdown cover is due for renewal and the premium has jumped up so I need to get some quotes.
