  • So today we are due to get storm Aiden. It was all calm and dry at 5am when I let the dog out and fed her. There was a full moon glowing in the sky with wispy clouds, very atmospheric.

DS’s gf walked her last night but we are having to walk her much earlier in the evening before it gets dark due to fireworks every night 😡 Poor puppy dog was out with DS & his gf the other night and a big boomer went off scaring her witless. DS had to carry a fully grown lab home! Good job he’s a Weightlifter 🏋️‍♀️

Just getting up to walk her now. She will go out again around 5pm. Then we will batten down the hatches for hallowe’en. Not expecting any trick or treaters this year but many people may be having fireworks parties at home instead. It will probably be fireworks every day until the end of November now 🧨and they are so LOUD 😕 Poor puppy dog, all windows & curtains shut, tv on to drown out the sound and she still cowers looking at the ceiling if she hears one 😢 Shes heard them other years & been ok but they seem particularly bad this year

  • Had a lovely walk in the sun this morning and set off home as the sky turned black. Just missed a huge downpour but now it has brightened up and I can see blue sky. Not sure what time we are due to get storm aiden or if this is it.

Last night I ordered new jeans from matalan, 2 pairs each of 2 sizes as I’m not sure of the fit. Also a bath mat and welly socks. Got free home delivery and £10 off with the voucher they sent me. I will need to take back some of the jeans but I can pop into town & free park just to get a refund.

    Kebab was lovely 😋

Plans today for all food from stores & NSD
b - hot choc & banana (still stuffed from last nights kebab)
    L - spicy chicken wings
D - chicken Thai green curry (Batch cooked last week from freezer)

  • Fireworks seem to be getting louder each year. Why industrial / industrial type ones are allowed to be sold to the public is beyond me. They have started off around here too, much to my annoyance and my cats stress levels.
Maybe forego the walks until December and stick with the garden, or just do short ones round the block.

The sky was amazing when I got up, a layer of light midway through the cloud. Now it's wet and windy. Try to time it right when you go out, hopefully you've got waterproofs.

    Clothes sound great 🤗

Meals sound perfect for the weekend and good on you for getting the kebab yesterday!

I didn’t buy any either SW. I’m not answering the door!

Chopped the bottom off the boiler cupboard door and rehung it. Walked puppy early before it got dark at 5pm. One firework went off while we were out but it was in the distance and she didn’t react.

Am waiting for Boris to come on TV as reports are that we (England) are all going into full lockdown for a month. Not sure if I will get my mot & service.

Multiple fireworks going off already. 🥺 seriously 5.25pm 😡

Well done doing the DIY, you're getting the hang of this now 🤗
I'm not sure you will notice much difference with the new lockdown. Call your garage on Friday to check they are open and still doing the MOT.

It's too wet and windy up here now for fireworks, thank goodness.

  • Wet and windy this morning. Walked the dog in my waterproofs.

Saw a mouse in the kitchen last night 🐭  eek 😱 We have not had any since we got the dog so cannot put the usual bait down. We have traditional traps but can’t bear the thought of them. I have ordered an electronic zapper trap from amazon using my free trial of prime. It should be here tomorrow. I chose the electric plug in one rather than battery operated which should be more reliable and save money on replacing batteries. I can set it up next to the fridge freezer where there is a plug socket, that’s where it ran when the dog tried to catch it.

Poor you, I hope it is gone soon, stress you dont need. I didn't know that zappers existed. It is a bit of a suicidal mouse anyway with Dear Doggie in house.
