It’s gone very dark here & looking like it might rain. After playing football with the dog on the field this morning I worked a bit earlier so I could finish early & miss the school run to go shopping. There is a school at the end of my road so traffic is manic at start & finish times.Have been driving around with the petrol light on so I put £10 in the car, shopping at Aldi was £28.46. It was more than I hoped but we needed loo rolls & they had a big pack on offer so I got those. They had plenty so no panic buying here!

Sounds like you and PD had fun.
Your shopping looks good and plenty of choice. Don't forget cheese can be frozen if you buy a block, just needs grating when it's to be used.
It's quite common some youngsters don't know what some fruit / veg is as they've not been fed it growing up.
Enjoy your batch cooking and I hope the pizza was as yummy as it sounds (make sure you try the flatbread one, if you haven't already).Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Fell asleep around 7.30 and have just woken up. Never did see Boris address the nation 🤦♀️ Just sorting my washing & hoping to get more sleep. So tired, even the guy in the petrol station earlier, who was very chatty (!) said I looked tired 😴
Its cheaper to buy a block of cheese but I cannot grate it any more without a lot of pain in my hands. If anyone can suggest a way to grate cheese without having to grip (the grater in one hand / the cheese in the other) I would be eternally grate-ful 🙄 😁

I don't think you missed much, media pretty much predicted it: hospitality closing at 10pm later half of week, still 'rule of 6' for England, and fines for the minority not bothering with guidelines... another one on Thursday?

I saw a top tip that vegetable peelers can do as reasonable substitutes for graters so that might be a bit easier for you to use? OR buy ready grated..... hope that advice doesn't 'grate' (groan)....

Hope you feel rested soon.
I've just done a search for disabled cheese grater, there's one (vinsani hand grater) which looks like a mincer £9.99 on a-zon, can't send you a link as my a-zon access is playing up! W1sh have one which looks like a garlic press and a multi-purpose one like the vinsani but it also does veg / salad things.
If ever I'm looking for something to make my life easier, I just stick 'disabled' at the start of what I'm looking for and it seems to work with my searches.
Or you may just stick with your grated for ease and saving on the cost of buying something 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
I will have a look at disabled graters thanks. 😊I slept well last night apart from hearing the rain. I think the gutter at the back of the house needs adjusting as it sounded like rain was pouring onto the kitchen extension roof just under my window. Next time it’s pouring during the day I will dash out with a brolly & see what’s going on.It was dry when I took the dog out around 8am but has rained on and off during the day.Tonight I made a sausage pasta bake with cooked whole wheat pasta, cooked sliced sausages, peppers, onions, courgette, added half a tin of baked beans, tin of tomatoes, half a tin of chickpeas, half a tin of sweetcorn, a tablespoon of tomato purée & sprinkle of mixed herbs & covered in cheese. 20mins in oven 😋 I cooked the sausages first to remove some of the fat. 😇0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

It’s very dark this morning, blowing a gale and pouring rain. The dog definitely didn’t want to go outside but ate her breakfast & then the rain had eased so she dashed out 😆The guttering outside my bedroom window has been rattling in the wind & I can hear rain splashing under/over it so I will have to call the roofer. He removed our chimney stacks a good few years ago & fitted the guttering also a few years ago & charges were reasonable so I will ask him to take a look and give me a quote. Also noticed the wind howling through the bedroom window frame. Must be a change of direction in the wind today. I will look at getting some draught seal. Screw fix have some basic stuff £5.99 so may go for that. I fitted some about 10 years ago but I think it has gone flat over time so needs replacing. The window actually needs replacing but am not willing to pay out if I’m not staying here more than 3 years.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Hey Skinty
Yes, Autumn is definitely kicking in... don't blame the dog for staying in! Mine doesn't care as long as there are no thunder or lightening storms..
Does sound like the gutter is trying its best to break free, hope your roofer can sort it cheaply for you. Not nice having a howling gale through the frame - had a little google for you and saw some tips for temporary repairs. If it's a small gap/crack, try clear nail varnish. If it's at the bottom of the frame, fill old sock with rice or similar to create a weighted draft excluder. If it's on the sides of the frame, go for 'rope caulk', adhesive draft tape or window putty. I was a bit dubious about the tip of using a lit candle to check where the draft was coming in!
And, of course, you probably already do this for insulation in winter adding your layers, like blind plus thick curtains, cheap plastic window kits/cling-film over the glass.
Sorry, getting addicted to this site, and this thread! I think I am at the excited rambling stage....lol"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Hopefully your roofer will sort you out. I would seal the frame even if staying in the property, buys time to save for repairs.
Sometimes the poundshops have a DIY section and have sealant / caulk and the contraption to go with it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
I have to confess that I actually only found out what swedes are recently xD My mum is Scottish and it turns out that what English people call swedes, Scottish people call turnips. I didn't discover this until I tried to grow some turnips and cook cheesy neeps like my mum does, and they didn't turn out right at all!
Hope your guttering gets sorted easily1
