I've read that peppermint oil is great for getting rid of ants, but didn't know it worked for spiders!  Going to go and order a cupboard full of the stuff as I'm terrified of them (well ALL insects actually!!) Don't mind mice, rats, snakes etc though!
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Wouldn’t want them living in my walls / house though ! 😳 😆

Couldn't find the peppermint oil yesterday but must admit I didn’t look very hard. Must have another search.

Feeling a bit melancholic today. The dog woke me around 4.30am scratching at the door. I was in a deep sleep dreaming about my old life with my ex & when we split up. Another post on MSE I read yesterday resonated with me, it was someone sending a message to her ex who wanted her back after leaving her for other women. I’m not hankering after my old life, just feeling sad. I think current circumstances are making me feel trapped & I have lost the social life I had built up due to Covid & I cant see my family and don’t know when I will, next year ? When a vaccine is found ?😢

Anyway, I try to keep busy so I don’t wallow in self pity. I fed the dog, had a cup of tea & fell back to sleep. Still feeling a bit off balance. I’m just going to take the dog out for a walk, will work a little earlier 8.30 - 2.30 then go shopping while all the parents are off doing the school run Aldi should be quiet 😁

  • Things will change again, your social life will come together when the time is right. You've met up with a few friends recently, why not see if a couple want to meet up outside while you have the nice weather?

Hope you and PD had an enjoyable walk 😁

  • Hey Skinty
Sending you a virtual hug... It's ok to be sad, and not swallow those feelings, you do need time to process emotions. Ask me how I know! Sometimes, it's helps to watch a sad film, have a bit of a cry, then you actually feel better again. And then you pick up those threads of life and keep going. You wouldn't be human if it didn't get to you now and then. Just guarding against letting it completely take over (like I can say that...) I think is the key, and what I am trying to do. Don't know what to say about the ex, but, only this - there is a reason they are ex's, looking back at the past, you may be looking too much with rose-tinted specs on....? Or, mourning what could have been, or should have been? You have to process that too....

I think all of us feel worried about this pandemic, and when things might be normal, or near-normal. Just keeping up the contact by phone or digitally is ok, but not the same. I think we will have this thing over us for a while, but, more in the way of in and out of local lock downs simply because the UK/government can't afford to do anything else. That means you will hopefully be able to 'bubble' with the best of us.... :)

This weeks evening meal plan is beef & bean chilli, shepherds pie with sweet potato topping, bacon garlic cheese & broccoli pasta (pasta in store cupboard), cheesy fish pie with broccoli & peas (in freezer), spicy wings, curry & rice.

Lunches will be tuna jackets (tin tuna left from last week), tuna & sweetcorn pasta salad, cheese & bacon jackets, curry noodles (2 bags left from last week, frozen lasagne.

I bought the Mini milky lollies as a small treat instead of Ice creams. The air popped crisps is one bag containing 4 servings. They are sour cream & chive and very strong so I don’t think I could eat more than 1/4 bag a day 😆
I haven’t been eating as many snacks, but have cucumber & cheese spread, crackers & cheese spread or hard boiled egg. I haven’t bought as much fruit but still have apples in the fridge.

I still have wheat bics & porridge in store cupboard for breakfast with banana, or cheese/bacon/mushroom omelette, or bacon roll (bread in freezer).

  • Oooh do you have a recipe for the bacon, cheese, garlic and broccoli pasta? Sounds lovely!
It is a really hard time at the moment, and being separated from family makes everything that much harder. I think when you're feeling a bit fragile like that, it's ok to mollycoddle yourself a bit- have a nice treat, cuddle a teddy, watch something comforting. Hope you feel a bit better soon x
  • Things will get better, we all have to keep riding this big surf.
I'm glad you've arranged a ladies lunch, that will also lift your spirits.

Wasn't aware A1D1 did pear juice, will have to grab some. Mini milks are lovely, don't blame you for getting some 🤗

I dont log on for a few days and i miss 3 pages of your life!!! omg well done on painting fence, hope you are better. This covid has kind of made us all reflect. Dont be sad at all, you know that you always did the right thing. He is the one who should be thinking about the mistakes he made dont you put yourself down. Make a list of what you want to do when all this covid is over we will use Covid to improve our lives. Ps peppermint oil is great. I must apply it too as i keep seeing small spiders inside.

I went to the hospital for an appointment yesterday and popped into the £shop and came out with lots of sweeties. Yikes, then i ate them!!! If there is a lockdown i am walking daily to get thin which you do as you are smarter than me. I will try to get through the diaries by the weekend.

Sorry it’s not actually juice it’s pear & Apple squash. I can’t have citrus fruits due to my reflux so no orange juice or orange squash, but the aldi peach squash and the pear & apple are lovely & get more water in me 😊

It was only the shed I painted SW, you were great doing your whole garden fence! Thanks for your kind words. You always make me think of you as a naughty school girl with your sweeties ☺️

I found the peppermint oil and dropped a tiny drop on each conker. It’s so strong if you use too much it makes your eyes water. I have placed 2 in the living room near the windows, 2 in my bedroom & one by the back door, all tucked away from the dog. There are a couple left for DS & his gf to put in their room. Dunno if they will work but worth a try. We had another giant one yesterday, 😳 thankfully DS caught it in a glass & threw it across the road onto the school field.
