Whilst this is fair comment and good advice, I have to add that many people don't actually know what t&c they sign up to - and in order to avoid the misinformation this company regularly provides (as well as date changes on individual accounts) it really is essential that people know precisely what they are doing before they do it. That is likely to make the difference between "safe" and "hopeful". Those who do cover themselves and understand it all thoroughly can be confident; the rest will have lots of problems and may actually fail to comply with the proper t&c. People signing up and immediately coming on this forum to ask numerous questions haven't really done their homework at all and should avoid any cashback deal.

Yes, I do agree that you should not go into any of these deals without being very switched on as to how it all works and its really a bit late posting questions on here after you have signed up and maybe got it wrong already. If you do know what you are up to, I do not think it matters whether you follow the original terms printed out at time of ordering, the set they send you with the phone or indeed their ready reckoner on the site (printed out of course!). Provided you do not make a silly mistake like sending a copy when it should be the original, I think you could and should win a legal claim against them.

BTW is it just me or are the latest E2Save terms ambiguous. The example it gives says that if you purchased on 1st April, then you should send in the bill dated September. It is not clear to me (but maybe I am thick), if you purchase on 30th April, whether you send the September one or the one which arrives in the 6th month which will be the October one. If you are contemplating dealing with this outfit probably best to purchase on the 1st of the month LOL since I, for one, would not trust their ready reckoner and would rather not have to sue them again.

Their "ready reckoner" is usually incorrect. It won't matter which date in the motnh you order; the t&c are and always have been incorrect AND contradictory. You have to know how they work to understand it all - and that goes back into ancient history. However, the safest way is to comply with both the legal t&c and the way they actually work - wherever it's possible to do so. Otherwise stick to the legal and literal t&c and sue when they don't pay. Reason is not a word which is in their dictionary.
  • Hi guys, Im a long time reader, and unfortunately now a first time poster due to issues with M2YD.

I phoned them up in April stating I hadn't recieved my chequeback claim form and they said they would send it out, but I had 14 days left to send them the claim. I am at uni and wasn't planning to go home so I asked if there was any other way of sending it to them, they gave me some details and said if I went into a P4U store they would fax it in for free.

So this is what I did, it took about 45 minutes as the line was busy, but I was told it was successfully send by the guy there in the end.

Two months later I haven't recived anything back, and no new claim form. I phoned up again and I was told the original claim was not recieved and now it has expired there is nothing I can do to claim it back, unless I have proof of it being sent. They have said they will allow me to continue future claims (and have given me an email to send them too, and have said they will confirm once they have been recieved and validated).

What I want to know is where exactly I stand with the first claim? The P4U store did not give me any confirmation other than virbally, and I didn't see the name of the guy who dealt with me (although I think he was the manager as he was older).

If you want to send your claims via fax or email you just need to phone up customer services and sweet talk the operator. I spoke to Leigh the first time then Victoria the second.

Do M2YD have some kind of "feedback system" to show that theyve received the form?

Sorry thelucster, I do not think this is good. You are lucky that they are letting you pick up your subsequent claims as I believe this is another set of T&C where if you lose one claim you lose the lot. You could go down the legal route as its a civil case so would be decided on the balance of probabilities so your word counts for something, and it may be that if you get a bit threatening they could cave in as I am sure its not worth them bothering with a court appearance for fifty or a hundred quid or whatever. If you were going to do this, personally I would wait until the rest of my claims have been successfully paid out. Under civil law you have 6 years to make your legal claim so no great hurry.
  • Thanks pentangle thats really useful. I didn't really think there was much hope, but I wanted to check to make sure.

Even so I am not really 'losing' that much by missing one claim. I am on a free phone + 12 months free deal (12 month contract) and got QuidCo when signing up, so an LG Prada + free usage for £70 seems fair to me. If I have any more problems I shall definately be chasing it up though.

Next time be much more on the ball (essential with anhy cashback deal) and give yourself all the time available (one month before the claim date to get the form plus two after makes three). I have found them extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Forget legal action; you have no real chance. I would go into the relevant store and ask to speak with the manager. I haven't even sent my claims by recorded delivery but always have back-up plans. I implemented one recently and still had plenty of time had it not produced the desired result. In my experience, this company is definitely one of the safest and most user-friendly I have come across. However, I never rest on my laurels with these things; I check everything I need to on here and with all my claims (and those of the people I order for) daily. If you get it all for free that's the least anyone doing these deals should be prepared to do. Any other company would have rejected all future claims - as that IS in the t&c.

    Hi mobilejunkie.
Just a quick question. I am at my 6 month point with m2yd. The date for redemption is 10th June.
Can you confirm whether it is the first bill after that date. Or the last one received before it.
    Thanks.
    Matt

Last one received before it - especially if that is still a June bill. You have left it late to ask this question. You can double-check with them to be sure - preferably by email to obtain a written record of their reply.
