I have just confirmed through live chat that I can cancel penalty free due to the price rise. They tried to say there would be early termination charges but I pointed them to their own terms and conditions that they were wrong.
Sky Broadband terms and conditions section 11 c (ii) covers this0 -
Line rental will rise from £17.40/mth to £18.99/mth on 1 March 2017 for all but landline-only Sky customers...Read the full story:

Aren't Sky supposed to give you notice? I haven't received anything so far... Maybe they'll send something out next month..
I just have internet and only pay line rental (£17.40 bill pm). Although I can't find anything as cheap to switch to.0 -
If you have phone and broadband(adsl or fibre), you can cancel. OFCOM changed the rules to allow you to cancel if your provider puts up the price mid contract. You just need to tell them you wish to leave within 30 days of when you were told.0

Even if they do put the prices up, it'll still be much better value for money than the all-in package I had with BT.0

I am sickened to be told by Sky that I cannot leave without penalty, because all my services are dated differently. Sickened, because this is not my fault. The start of my service was delayed sevearl times by breakdowns: initially when the broadband stopped working twice. Both times required a BT engineer visit. Then I discovered that I was only receiving 2.3Mbps download and the TV would not work from the Q Box. That turned out to be due to having ADSL, when I ordered Fibre Unlimited. A Sky engineer visit. Then the TV service stopped working: another Sky visit. All these delays messed up my contracts with restarts, meaning that what I thought was one contract, is now 3.
I therefore cannot cancel, because I cannot afford the penalty. I have no words for how this makes me feel about Sky. Well, none that I can give here. I am left with paying for service that is not worth the money I pay for it, and not able to cancel.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

This is ridiculous! My bill will be going up from £27.40 to £31.49 for landline and 1.5MB broadband. I don't want to take out a new contract with anyone as we're about two months away from a Fibre cabinet finally going live. Soon as it's live, I am jumping ship!Outstanding Debt at 01/01/2020

What does it matter when your contracts run out? If they are putting up their prices, you have a legal right to cancel the service without penalty - even in the middle of a contract. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
