Sky to put up prices in March

My 9 month old Original bundle is increasing by £1 to £22.50, but it looks like new customers only pay £22?
I had Original at £20 (discounted by 50%) until October 2016, but all retention messages for keeping Original came through as based on £22.50; notably 'with 60% discount that's just £9/month', so the Original price went up before September last year.
I did find, though, that when others packages had increase notices, mine was left at £20 less a discount.
I did leave (meaning to stay away)but couldn't resist Cinema and Boxed Sets for under £6/month (when considering the £100 credit), but will leave, possibly forever, at the end of this year, as being offered this again is very unlikely.
The way prices are sneaking up (eg most have used the combination to hike broadband prices then want to do a line rental increase too; used to be one or the other increased), phone and internet will take up the whole budget that once covered tv, too.0 -
When you look at the non-inclusive cost of calling landline numbers, 03 numbers and mobile numbers, remember these charges are vastly inflated.
The termination rate is capped at:
- 0.21p per minute for calls to geographic numbers starting 01 and 02,
- 0.56p per minute for calls to non-geographic numbers starting 03,
- 0.49p per minute for calls to mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079.
This is why landline and mobile providers can offer a huge number of "inclusive" calls for a very small monthly fee.0 -

It's not that unlikely. We are on Orignal + Sky Sports with a 50% discount for 60 months.0 -
I've just received a letter telling me my TV-only package is going up by £2.50 per month - the Box Sets Bundle. As its TV-only, can I leave while still in contract? I agreed to a new 12 month contract back in September last year...0

Although that's decent it's not close to @teddysmum s deal which is what she was referring too.
Yes, for 5 years, but still at the mercy of the usual price increases of course.
Got the £100 bill credit @teddysmum referred to in the "first" year (after cancelling and actually letting it switch off for a couple of weeks). I suppose could go down the cancellation routine again to try and bag another one, but then the 5 year offer would go.0 -

I assume OFCOM approve of charging early termination fees (where relevant) unless the customer bothers to do this?
As I mentioned previously they did apply them, even though I did notify them anyway!0 -

50% off is quite a common offer, but 75% off and £100 credit is rare, though they appear to have offered it widely, recently.
When I transferred phone/bb, after the lack of a good offer, the customer service man did say that they were concentrating on tv customers , at that time. Offers on the former, seem to have improved since the combination prices were used to increase the total cost, so ,perhaps, tv offers will reduce.0 -
Just thought I'd add some info on what I was offered and what I accepted. I have been paying £27.40 for Line Rental and Fibre Unlimited which was about to go upto £38.99.
Went onto live chat, I like being able to have a printed record, to cancel due to the price rises and I was offered the same for £31.49 for 12 months. I rejected that as I was planning on moving to Broadband only from Virgin which is currently on offer for £22 p/month.
I was then offered Line Rental and Fibre Unlimited for the same £22 p/month for 12 months. As it is the same cost as Virgin, I decided to accept it. This combo is being advertised on the Sky website for between £30 and £38.99 with a £19.95 setup and a 18 month contract, I am happy with what I have been given.0 -

I know a friend who got the 75%/£100 and it almost co-incided with the start of the football season which I thought was a strange time for Sky to offer it, but there you go.
Fortunately managed to renew Plusnet a few days before the disaster of the combo/increased prices came in. It's easier to negotiate them separately now.0
