    UPDATE:
Their first counter offer was £50 lower than our max! Seeing if I can bring her down a little, exciting!

    Everything crossed for you :)

Yesterday was a NSD as the class I was going to with my friend was cancelled. I am now on 10. Today isn't a NSD as I have a Mr T order coming this afternoon. I had to order it a day early as we have run out of some essentials. I have also ordered DH some socks on line for his birthday at his request. Just have 2 cards to get which I will get at lunch time today.

Not much left in the bank account today as I still haven't paid in DH's cheque but we shouldn't need any money this weekend and pay day is Tuesday.

    I am grateful for:

    1) A friend wanting to go to gym classes on a regular basis
    2) DS going off to school quite happily when he is not so well
    3) My bujo - I love having all my lists and plans in one place and have managed to track my NSDs accurately for once!
    4) My job
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

    Yesterday
No Spend days - Claiming day 15/15 - Did buy fuel for my car but I don't count that in my nsd's as its a necessity.
    January's rules:
    Food - Continuing using up
Post 3 things that you are grateful for
    * I'm grateful for the blue sky we had yeserday
** I'm grateful for getting a little catch up with a friend
*** I am grateful for being able to rest more.
Work towards end of 2017 goal (weight loss)- I haven't done well with this all month really, head not in the right place. My gym buddy is back next week which will definitely help as we look forward to catching up with each other.
Organise some cheap (free if possible) things to do with family or friends - Nothing done yesterday
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

We have reached an agreement! Unfortunately I couldn't knock her down any lower, but she is selling with her ex, and he won't budge.
We love the place and are happy with the price so it's all going ahead!
Hopefully there will be no hiccup with the mortgage application now we get into the nitty gritty, but I am very excited.
My 2017 goal was to at least put an offer on a house by the end of the year, and here we are at the end of the first month getting serious.

    Also reached NSD no.15 today.

    I am grateful for:
    1) Seller accepting our offer.
    2) Slow-cooked lamb for tea.
    3) Nice chilled day off today.

  • Huge congratulations on the house Raphael. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly for you from here on in.
I have no idea who is running February misstara - I seemed to think that there was a volunteer but I might have imagined it. Nice short month, with half term as well :j
Another busy day for me at work. This week has kind of gone by in a blur and I absolutely cannot wait for the weekend. I'm shattered.
    Today I'm grateful for
Being in my pj's with the heating on by half past five
Having a roof over my head
Watching the cats playing with catnip :rotfl:

    Congratulations on the house Raphael.

Finally paid the cheque in today and got some money bags so I could count upm the change in the pots as one was full. £60 since the middle of June! :D which will be paid in next week and then paid straight off the CC debt.

I also ordered the stuff to sell 2 old eye phones for £69 and claimed £23 from TCB :) I was hoping to find/make £100 for extra debt repayments in Feb but might have to push that target up a bit now.

I am glad I ordered my Mr T delivery a day early as I now have to drive down south and back tomorrow. :( Also spent £6.05 on dry cleaning a silk blouse:eek:, £5 on birthday cards and had a sunbed (naughty, naughty).

I havent eaten enough today which means I have gone off plan slightly and I really, really fancy a glass of wine tonght.

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) the lovely delivery driver who helped me unpack my shopping without asking
    2) change pots that quietly build up to a tidy sum
    3) the central heating as it was bitter cod here today
    4) having all the shops and bank i needed in our tiny town centre
    5) a rest day, my thighs are killing me :)

Congratulations Raphael - it is so exciting! - make sure you get a good survey done and keep your eye on anything new coming on (or back on) to the market. Nothing is set in stone until the paperwork is signed and exchanged. Still, it is so exciting!!

Today was another NSD - Double figures! 10/15 and I still have enough food in the house to do another 3 or 4 days without having to think too hard about it.

    Grateful for -
being half way through stripping all the doors. Got arm ache but on door 4 of 8.

Jelly!! found two packets in the pantry and it was the quickest, easiest pudding I could think of - in a glass topped with yogurt and maple syrup. Nobody complained, gagged, or fell to the floor spasming, so I will class that as a win

Also grateful that the smoke alarm that objected to my paint stripping was the only one on the middle floor that was not hardwired so I could take the stupid battery out.

Congratulations Raphael - exciting times ahead! :)

Spent £4 on PAYG Zumba today and nothing else - as I lost my purse when out and about this morning - no cash in it but lots of cards and my driving licence. Had a quick scout around for it. However - someone just dropped it off at my house (address on driving licence) - yeay!!! SO pleased! :):T:T:T:j:j:j

Food (you can tell my husband's working away by what I'm eating!) - toast for breakfast with some of my new jam :), small lo amount of chilli and rice from last night for lunch - and then another portion of chilli and rice from the freezer for dinner after running around with swimming lessons. There are lots of veggies in the chilli, but even so..... :rotfl::rotfl:

    Today I am thankful for:
    * someone finding my purse and taking the time to find my house (not the easiest) and drop it off
    * getting my purse back
    * lovely other human beings! :D

    Congratulations on the house x-raphael-xx.

    Abundant
and anyone else who is interested (I think most parents would find it useful to help their children) the book I read was by Gael Lindenfield and is called The Emotional Healing Strategy (subtitle 'A recovery guide for any setback, disappointment or loss). Hope this is allowed - suggest people try borrowing it first. I have re-borrowed it from the library today as when I found the 'list' I had only written down the stages (possibly meant to expand on them but ran out of time).

    Her 'essential' stages are
    EXPLORE the hurt
EXPRESS your feelings (could be in a notebook, not to anyone else)
COMFORT - what happened was real, take time to let yourself feel better
COMPENSATION eg if a friend repeatedly breaks arrangements to meet, you could do something you want to do
PERSPECTIVE - looking back from a suitable distance (depending on the 'hurt') putting it into context

    The two 'bonus' stages are
CHANNEL the learning from this experience
FORGIVENESS either forgiving someone or asking for forgiveness.

I also remember reading a thread on mse some time ago. One of the women had her 6yo grand-daughter living with her. The grand-daughter had experienced some trauma but had reacted by becoming very fearful and anxious - worrying about everything from world affairs, fear of people close to her dying down to whether the water in the tap would be too hot or cold.

The grandmother used a similar technique to FMess's jar. She allowed the girl 15 minutes each evening to talk about all the things she was worried about. She would spend the rest of her time focussing her attention away from the worries, having handed them over to her grandmother.

    Hope these are useful.

I have spent money today. I went to my local history session, then to the hospital for more blood tests (4 weeks on) and finally to visit mum. Bought an all day bus ticket and had a taxi home from mum's but mum gave me £5 to cover the taxi, so a net spend of £2.80. Think I will exceed my saving target for the month. Should be able to put an extra £100 into savings, possibly £200 (no council tax, had some money back from DS3 but some variable direct debits to go out).

I will do February if no-one else wants to do it. Be warned, I may be replying to your posts in the middle of the night. Will have to think of something (not going to make you all be animals this time).

Today I am grateful for mum (going to try to make Thursday's a regular thing as we can talk when her partner is at daycare), for the infirmary (should be getting to the airmiles category soon) and for public transport (no way I could have done today on foot - only 3 hours sleep).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Yay Raphael Great news.

Another NSD today (barring budgeted petrol) Ouch.

    Grateful today:

    1) For getting through the day without losing my temper with a client or my boss.

    2) For plans tomorrow with a friend - going running and then she's giving me a pampering session.

    3) For a full fridge and freezer to get me through until Wednesday without thinking about 'cooking' properly.
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18
