  • Morning,

Low Spend Day yesterday and I expect today to be the same. Frustrated I'm not getting NSD's but it's better than what I would have been like previously.

    Happy Friday everyone.
  • Congratulations, Raphael. Hope everything goes smoothly.
Yesterday I walked to the health centre for my overdue asthma and blood pressure checks. All the walking must be helping as my blood pressure was perfect and the breathing test was the best it's been in years. Have fallen off the wagon a bit with the healthy eating so have to get back on board with that big style. When I go back next January I am determined to have lost this weight!!! The haggis pie that I bought at the local butcher's yesterday hasn't helped either my weight or my spending but it was delicious.
Unfortunately, we had some further though not entirely unexpected bad news concerning my brother's illness. He has to see an oncologist in the next few days so we're hoping that something a little more positive may come from that. I'm trying to just accept the situation and concentrate on supporting my sister in law but I feel very sad.
    Grateful for
Good results for my health checks
Supportive and caring partner and son
Beautiful, cold day for a walk through the park (it's looking lovely)
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Toni's friend - hugs, glad your test results went well.

    Speky
not the only one, lost my SFD today to bread and milk. Somehow chinese meal deal in morisons fell into my trolley - 4 pounds to include fresh king prawns or meat or quorn, nice noodles, stir fry and sauce - easily tripped up on my mission to be debt free. Probably do me 2 days - got dates far in advance as possible as already planned lamp chop tea tonight.

Do I sound obsessed with food a tad?

It is so cold out there still thought it was warming up? Wind and my exposed ears did not mix.

    Just checking on 14/15 SFD
Food 82.35/80 oops but really good for me, freezer is full.
Going to need petrol as I haven't bought any yet this month.

Bob - Congrats on your ebay sale soon be DF at this rate.

I will be glad when January is over, been a boring month with chest infection, haven't been out anywhere except few walks. Still can't face wine - so at least I am saving there.

Very jealous of everyone having holidays in warm climates at the moment. They closed my dd's beach in Oz yesterday as shark was sited. They need Brody!

Day out with grandkids tomorrow, and Sunday did say go out for lunch with a friend but might cancel as I am broke until next Thursday.

Looking forward to Feb nearer to Spring. Will work out budgets this weekend and look in food cupboards.

    Grateful for
    Warm office/ house
Finding a very warm woolly dress in my wardrobe.
    Feeling upbeat today.

Not NSD today. Smallest two off school with an inset day so when DS1 got home around 2pm (they can leave at lunchtime on Fridays if no lessons in afternoon - he's in VIth form) I nipped to Tesc0 - really didn't want to go with smaller ones in tow and we needed milk & OJ before the morning. Also topped up on some snacks (inc for DS1 to take away this weekend) and got lots of YS celery for the guinea pigs :)

Got off lightly as offered to take smallest 2 to cinema, but there was nothing they wanted to see. Also mooted a trip out to climbing/ soft play with lunch out - but they have been quite happy amusing themselves building some kind of den/ fort in the family room, occasionally calling me in to see their progress :) Did manage to get youngest into his room for a short time and we went through his clothes and books - few clothes items for passing on/ ragging and a pile of books for pricing up for NNS. Need to persuade the older small one to do the same.... As they were happily playing and rain is predicted for the weekend/ next week, I went into the front garden and vacuumed up lots of leaves. (Still need to do the back.......)

    Today I am thankful for:
    * It being Friday - and therefore OH is back from work for the weekend
    * It also happening to be payday :) - some money shuffling has taken place, some has been calculated for happening later in the month :)
    * the smallest 2 (11 and 7.5) amusing themselves in a very sweet fashion - and with no technology involved :)
    * a lie in until 6.30 as it was an inset day
    * no school runs :D (DS1 cycles to school unless I'm working there)
    * Jaffa cakes..... ;)

Toni's friend big hugs , stay strong

Raphael im so pleased for you ,Hope everything goes smoothly

Seem to be back and forth to hospital as DH has developed bad asthma, but my dear old Dad whos 87 had something appear on his back that looked sinister, and I was dreading taking him to the GP today to find out what it was, ( Sleepless night ) but all is well . He assured us it was benign and nothing bad, so we breathe a sigh of relief again, Had NSD thanks to DD sending some yummy pies. so chips from the sack of spuds and dinner sorted. DD also cut my hair while she was here too/ Wombled in Tesco and 96p towards my goals pot as I re- used a postage stamp that hadn't been franked.
    Thankful today for

DAD,,,,,,,,,,,, hes still in one piece and we love him

Cold cold cold brrrrrrr. Even though my brain is telling me the room is warm, my body is still telling me I am cold.

    Grateful for

    - DH learning patience, DS2 is having the routine Friday night meltdown and DH was really great with him. Nearly as good as me! 12 yr old boys can be horrid, good job he isn't finished yet.

    - DH coming home and cooking supper, cos I really cba tonight. Very rare occurance that food is not ready very soon after DH gets home from work, I usually am utterly on top of things. Today just did not work out the way it was supposed to, but at least it is not a takeaway!!!! so all food from stores again

    - Pastry! went into Her0n f00ds and they had 500g packs of shortcrust pasty - jusroll stuff - 3 for £1.

    - Finally remembering Only Connect has changed to Friday nights. Keep missing it and I do really love it.

C0sta sent me some points so I can have a free coffee, and DS1 wants to meet a friend in town tomorrow for wargaming, so I can sit and have a free coffee and wander around the market getting fruit and veg bargains while he does that, and pay in the Xmas cheques I have not got around to yet. I have a plan!

    Evening :)

A good day today and it's weekend *and* payday!!!

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) Pay day!!! Having a stable job and income.
ii) For people wanting to ask me for a night out
iii) For the music I listen to which really boosts me

No spends today, though have a social tonight. Will try and minimise spending until the end of Jan and reap a few more NSD's.

Mothernerd - there go my ideas for Feb hahaha!!! ;)
