The first agreement was unfortunately verbal, this time she has officially accepted the offer and things can start moving. :D
Of course things can fall apart any time until contracts are exchanged, but at least now the ball is rolling and we are getting somewhere.

I've not been writing down my gratefulnesses the last few days, they've pretty much been the same...
Job security - boss is pleased with my work and I am one of the few keeping full time hours while others are being cut
    House - 2017s goal is underway :D
    Family & friends - I've got a great bunch :)

Can't remember if I posted on Friday but was grateful for a low cost dentist visit, picking up some new library books and a good chat with OH regarding financial stuff.

Yesterday I was grateful for a NSD, fun overtime at work (went to the theatre with one of the service users) and having bus tickets saved on an app so I could jump on a bus home without buying something to get change.

    Morning all,

    Fingers crossed for you raphael

Spendy couple of days. Friday was food shopping as I got off work early (unheard of for a teacher!) and yesterday I bought dog food and met a friend in town for my birthday brunch. today will probably be spendy as my friend and I have treated ourselves to a day at a lovely spa. We thought January would be busy at work so decided to book it before Christmas when there were lots of offers on. I have also spent all the money that could have gone to savings on a doggy stroller! One of my dogs has tendinitis and can't go on walks and he's got depressed and stresses when I take the others out. The stroller will mean the dog walker and I can walk the other two and he can ride along :) I've been agonising over the decision for two weeks but decided that I earn a good wage and this would make me and him happier. Plus as the three legged dog ages he will need more assistance to get out of the house so it's an investment too.

    Yesterday I was grateful for:-
    - my lovely family and their generous gifts
    - my lovely friends
    - having the ability to spend money on items if deemed necessary

Have now spent £195 on shopping in January which includea toiletries and cat food for three cats. In Dec this was £400 and that's our average of £100 per week. I don't think that's bad for 5 of us and 3 cats really so to half it is magnificent.

Compared with what I spend on 3 of us:o I think that is a fantastic result. Any tips you can share as this is the one area I really need to get sorted?

DS match has been cancelled this morning due to frost so we have a free morning :) The sun is shining here so will take the dog out shortly for a good walk in the woods.

DH is at a course this afternoon so I will do some batch cooking and list the contents of my freezer to get Feb off to a good start.

    Yesterday I was grateful for:

    1) A rare and unexpected gift of flowers from my DMIL
    2) A fun game of monopoly with DS and DFIL
    3) DS making a considered decision not to continue with his karate lessons on a Saturday morning (he is 6)
    4) Having the space in our new house to entertain DPIL with a meal for DH birthday next week
    5) Still not catching DH bad cold
    6) The new Lidl that has opened 10 minutes from our house

Whoops - forgot to post yesterday. Small spend at Supermarket to see us through to Tues when I can do a big(ger) shop - Sains have sent us some £7.50 and £10 off £50 shop vouchers :)

Food - mainly from stores. Needed the sour cream and nacho chips from the morning's shop for the nachos and fajitas we had for dinner :)

Cheap/ free things to do - DS1 was away with cadets this weekend, meaning it was just OH and myself and the smallest 2. (Big change from last weekend when we had the 2 of us, all 4 children and the bf and gf of DD and DS1 staying :)) - spent a lot of the day really concentrating on time with the small ones - playing games and then a family DVD session of The Leg0 Movie (for the umpteenth time....!) Have some diy and housework tasks to get completed today (and homework) but have promised them at least one more game today :)

    Thankfulness:
    * simple pleasures of playing Cluedo and Frustration - with no tantrums over the results :)
    * having a lie in as OH got up with the youngest :)
    * simple, easy, quick to make tasty food with just fresh ingredients (and nacho chips!)

So far today I am thankful for the kids bringing down their own bedding to be washed and dried and returned before bedtime, not being freaked out by mil's 'gift' of hairdye not being the colour stated on the (opened) packet, bit taken aback by the wild colour but honestly not too surprised. DS1 finally invited a friend to the house, just to get a lift off into town, but it is nice to think he knows he can invite friends over, it is their house too after all. And a nicely stocked pantry to do an inventory of before I make up wildly exciting menu plan - this week it is no holds barred. Stuff is going to get used up. Not to the extent of that programme that was aired in the late 70's or early 80's where someone took all the labels off the cans in the pantry and they had to eat whatever came out. No idea what it was called but I seem to remember they had a meat stew and peaches and mushy peas and custard. I don't even know why they did it, but it has stayed with me... grateful for labels on tins too now.

    Morning everyone!

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) A day off - chance to rest and recuperate
ii) Food in my cupboards, fridge and freezer
    iii) Modern medicine

Thankfully feeling a bit better this morning for a good night's sleep (despite cat waking me at 05:30 to be let out grrrrr! I think my cold is finally on its way out. Done some batch cooking with the free mince I bought with the money off vouchers... Got 9 portions of chilli out of it. Giving the gym a skip until I feel 100% but might go for a walk if the rain abates later on.
