Am claiming NSD today - still a few hours to go but I'm not going out anywhere! :D Did 2 stints at work today, so that's also a few extra £ earned - all extra income usually goes to debt if I can :)

Food - obv all from stores - large batch of risotto made yesterday and had some for lunch as I needed something quick in between the 2 sessions. Will probably now have one of the frozen portions of chilli from last week for dinner - and cook enough rice for the other portion too at the same time and pop it in the freezer to make it super speedy :)

No exercise done but have managed 9.6K steps so far, so will break 10k no problem.

Things I am thankful for today:
    * my mum taking the youngest to school, enabling me to go to work (this one may feature heavily over the next couple of weeks! :D)
    * DS2 riding his bike to school so I don't need to go out for a second pick up (makes him feel very grown up and is also good exercise)
    * easy, healthy food to eat!
    * my mum bringing me some excess veggies which I have fed to the guinea pigs :)

Almost at month end - will do end of month summary with tomorrow's post :)

    Evening everyone!

A good day today - managed NSD number 17. Am not going to make 20 but that's ok. Spekysquarehead we will do better next month, right?

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) A nice lady at work I met today on the same wavelength as me
ii) An office, a desk to work at, a monitor and a chair of my own. Not hot-desking yet!
    iii) An afternoon off

So I've got all my budget's for Feb done. My rations budget looks pants but I did that shop this month and carried it over what I haven't used - and my cupboards are still not too shabby! I'm going to do a stock take later on. Quiet evening planned and determined to get back on track with my mindfulness. Since I increased it to 15 mins it'd dropped right off - so I am going back to 10 mins until I am consistently doing it.

    NSD no.19 today.
I did have to pay the first £400 towards fees, but as I have them budgeted for, and they could call up at anytime for them, I'm not counting them.

Good day in work today, tills were 25p up (they were £5 down, until I realised I'd counted my float to £75 at the end of the day, rather than the £70 it's supposed to be)

    Today I am grateful for:
    1) First fees paid, means things are go!
    2) The rain. I love the rain.
    3) Homemade curry for tea.

NSD again! 12/15 not going to make it to 15 by the end of tomorrow, but by 'eck it were close, well, close by my standards anyway and I would have spent more if not for this group.

Feeling excited about our 'cruise' together in February.

Going to spend tomorrow thinking about the on board catering and budgets so will def not be a NSD might be a very SD if I decide to go and do a monthly shop. Scary thought!

Grateful for only having one and a half doors left to strip, I think I am developing Strippers' Shoulder TM :rotfl:
that DS2 has not had a tantrum since Friday, in fact he has been rather lovely. It must be hard going to a school where you are constantly being referred to as someone's 'little brother'.

That the very long month of January is soon to be over - DH got paid on the 15th December and it has been a long time until payday (last working day of the month)

Only one more day before we stow our bags and sail away

Another NSD today. So hit my 15 days of no un-budgeted spends. And I'm under on groceries and all budgets except petrol due to the price rises so that's come out of my 'buffer' fund and I will be budgeting more in February. Ouch.

Will have to try hard not to splurge tomorrow night. I've planned dinner so it just needs nuking. No excuse for a takeaway as a reward for year end. Will probably have that on Wednesday:D I'll be too k**ackered to enjoy it tomorrow.

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) The gym - helping me keep my sanity when two clients walk in with their books to be done for tomorrow:rotfl:

    2) A full fridge/freezer. I had bolognaise prepped but also had bits that needed using up (ham OOD today) so made an omelette and will take the bolognaise for an indulgent lunch tomorrow.

    3) Good friends. One kept texting today with supporting messages. Will be great to see her on Thursday 'unstressed'.

  • Quick check in. Not a nsd thanks to naughty tortie deciding that today was a good day to get sick. Then I decided to go whole hog and ys shop at Mr S (butternut squash soup anyone - I have loads) and fuel up.
    I am grateful for
That lovely post from Moll (thank you)

I'm still on 11 NSDs as I bought a birthday gift today and paid for a clothing item I had ordered. I also paid for Feb classes but I count this as a bill as it is budgeted for just paid in cash not by DD.

DH arranged for a local decorator to give us a quote to do 3 rooms and it is really reasonable so will need to find the money for that this month. I still don't know if I am getting a bonus but will know one way or another when I get paid tomorrow.

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) The encouraging comments from the instructor at the end of the new class I attended today. Good class too :D
    2) Colleague finding out we could claim an expense back (£120!!!)
    3) Batch cooking yesterday so my tea just needed heating up when I got back from the gym

Didn't sleep last night but spent some productive time writing things up in my new notebook (bought in August). Stayed awake and went out spending. All items to be taken from February budget. Small shop at Icyland, mainly for DS3 and Beloved - had asked for suggestions from them. Bargain was a large ham for £5 (think they were Christmas stock, half price). Also bought a large pack of toilet rolls, stock of tinned tomatoes and yoghurts. Plus tomato puree and tuna from HB. Toilet rolls would have lasted until Thurs/ Fri but captain abundant said be prepared so I am.

Need salad/ healthy stuff for me but think there are a few things in the freezer to keep me going. Took out a portion each of chilli, bacon soup and sweet potato mash to accommodate the ham.

Next month is going to be back to basics for me - sleep, breathe, eat healthily (more veg and pulses), walking and drinking water (giant tick for drinking water, I refill a 2l bottle several times a day and some for overnight).

Also going to try a few new things. I have been pondering various matters and need new strategies (tackle the mess/ organise more). I am aware that I have gone back into my shell a bit over the past two weeks, especially since my sleep pattern collapsed (sleeping/ dozing 1 and a half days and now awake for nearly 24 hours). Need to get moving again.

    Today I am grateful for
being able to walk as far as Icyland and back (sat on a bench coming home) plus several stops at other shops.
for re-reading the notes I had kept and exploring new options
a bit of sunshine in the middle of the day and feeling brighter (may have accidentally taken my anti-depressant twice).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
